“There’s no need to fret Mayor Toll. I’m sure your daughter loves you very much. The kindness of a woman’s heart has no bounds, or so I’ve been told,” Alice said, leaning on the wall and humming with a finger rested against her chin. “It’s quite possible she left you out of anger given your last interaction. But anger is only present when someone feeds the flames. Who’s to say your daughter isn’t regretting her choices and hiding in fear of your anger Mister Toll?”

"What?!" The mayor's tear-stained face raised to stare in shock at Alice for her blunt words. "Are you insinuating -- do you imply that my daughter has anything to fear from me, her loving and doting father?" His voice cracked in the wake of a lie. His mouth trembled, though his eyes flared defiantly. He had thought of a very good reason his daughter might be hiding from him -- but he was very certain it wasn't something these detectives needed to know. "I want only what's best for her! She knows that! We've moved on from the past!"

"Well, that may be true, Miss Alice. However," Rhea said, approaching the conversing duo from the side, "isn't it also said that no force in nature can rival a scorned woman's spite?" She added playfully, perhaps in a bit of ill-spirited tease, before revealing the sketch of the paw mark. "Not only have I invited our possible new companion, but also found an interesting bit of information that may or not be related to Mister Kenver's vanishment. As soon as we are settled on our lodgings I shall look around the tomes I brought to see if this matches the outline of any known beast. Unless, of course, you may be aware of what creature could produce such marks, Mister Toll?"

Mayor Toll jumped a little at Rhea's presence, having not noticed her in his passion to defend himself, and he blinked his small watery eyes at the pawprint sketch that was presented to him. His eyebrows raised, and he breathed noisily through his nose while he calmed himself enough to focus. "We've only -- we've only seen wolves around here," he said honestly. "Occasionally a bear, but that doesn't look like any bear track I've seen. The hunters will know more about tracks than I do." He shook his head dismissively -- the mayor was certain this track must have nothing to do with his daughter's disappearance, so wrapped he was in his theory of the recluse boyfriend. "There's one of those Von Hochstadt books in one of the upstairs rooms, maybe that will be of some use. I urge you, please investigate Jory Tregear, I'm convinced he's holding my daughter hostage." He added this last in desperation, pointing toward the shut-up house at the end of the row.

The pawprint, upon investigation, might prove to be that of a lion -- or of any creature that might take a lion's form.

It'd be hard for me to write my character's perception of a character I haven't seen in action. Maybe RP arriving at a predetermined gathering spot so we can check our gameplan before going in?

I WILL SAY! :D

So we've got a short flashy assassin-guy with a small arsenal hidden on his person, the most entertaining lizard-guy in the world, a piece of cheese* (successfully) posing as the hero of legend, a happy con-man who sings about the hero of legend, a broody wizard-guy preoccupied with revenge, and an even shorter lady armed with a screwdriver.

I could see us all being in the same place, maybe a generic tavern, maybe something like a carnival. Maybe one of you bards discovers and sings about the great H. Erstwhile's terrible feats, and another of us -- probably Cole and Charlie, maybe Chao and Dali -- already have an invitation to the Ceaseless Feast. Saoirse would likely insist on tagging along as a +1, if only for the chance to see Erstwhile's collections, and would probably be forward in asking others to come along as well, if only for protection and anonymity.

Essentially my suggestion is that we're all fresh acquaintances who were either invited or invited ourselves to this dinner party, and agreed ahead of time to go together. Personally, because of our very different backgrounds, I don't think I could pull off having known you guys for very long, haha. It's more fun to figure you out as we go!

*I don't know why Cole reminds me of cheese. He seems cheesy. I love it. xD

@Cute Bumber Hey she's cool! Some minor things though:

The light and the comms connection are both cool, as they each do exactly one thing.

I'm not too clear on what the Angel Eyes Button does, exactly? It creates wings for her to fly with, or is it more of a drone? Either way, the fact that it's temperamental and essentially does more than one thing (sprout wings, fly, accept orders on where to go) makes it sound more like an enchanted item. An enchanted item can have enormous power and may even have a sort of personality.

So, if you'd like to keep the Angel Eyes Button you'll have to explain why she has such a rare and powerful item, and you'll have to ditch the other sigils. Or, come up with a different sigil for the third. ;)
