@BlackPanther You are on day 7 - need a post in tonight!

Jenna Westbrook

Location: Town Center

So it was a demon then - and Jenna hoped that he wasn't being metaphorical about his words. If he was, then there was still a chance that Declan was somehow made to kill the Mayor. Yet she wanted this explanation to be true - that Mayor Ryder had messed with forces he could not control and that those same forces had killed him. Anything beyond that would implicate her friend. And while she was willing to consider Declan as a suspect, that didn't mean she didn't trust him. She wanted to believe that Declan couldn't have done this, but detective work wasn't about trust and belief - it was about facts and logic. Even if it meant she lost her friends along the way.

Jenna quickly shot a reply back to Kosara, telling her that she'd be at town center, before she glanced back up at the private investigator. She could hardly blame him for his questions - they were the right ones to ask. "Like I said, I intern for the police. They asked me to come back here and make sure all of the evidence had been bagged and tagged - making sure nothing was left behind," she lied. She didn't want to stay in this conversation any longer than she had to. She figured worst case scenario was she played the parents didn't tell me I was adopted card. It tended to work.

"If you're looking for leads on Riley, there's nothing here," Jenna then added. "The police department here is a bit incompetent but...There's nothing left. No clues. No evidence." She let her voice crack towards the end. "She's...She's just gone. She's dead, isn't she?"

Cecily Ashworth

Location: A Taxi in Mexico
Skills: Constitution (Passive)

Cecily felt a bit confused by Natasha's raised eyebrow. Given that Natasha had seen all of the movies, she took her for another fan. But instead, Cecily felt a bit uncomfortable with Natasha's expression. Sure, she knew that she was a bit over the top when it came to comics and such, but it was part of who she was. There were only two things that had ever been constant in her life: chemistry and comics. No matter where in the country she was forced to live due to her parents representing their latest millionaire-crook client, the science was the same and the stories in the comic books never changed.

And beyond that, even now, she needed stories about heroes. The gruesome footage of a man getting killed by a fire hydrant in Justice only confirmed that belief. Their world was dark and twisted - she needed something that would give her hope. "Can't wait to see the blood spatter analysis of that one," Cecily said with a bit of a sigh. It looked like a future case study in the making, yet the young coroner also realized there was a fair chance the body would end up in her morgue. Maybe she should have been Pre-Med in college after all. She had completed all of the coursework for it, with her major in chemistry and minor in biology. At least then she would have been able to perform the autopsies without assistance.

Cecily nodded. "I can carry your things," she offered. She may have had a gun wound but Natasha was recovering from cancer and in her books, that trumped just about everything else. She opened her door and got out, taking a moment to take in her surroundings. They had a long road trip ahead of them in the rental. And in a more metaphorical sense, she could see a road stretching out in front of them as well. If they were lucky, Kelley Breeden's autopsy would be the break in the case that they needed in order to catch Alicia and Lorna's killer.

She was still convinced that it had to be someone within Juno. A thought then occurred to her - if the derby team was associated with the organization, as was Queensguard, what else was? She then bit her lip. If she could get fingerprints on everyone who was a known associate of Juno, that'd help narrow down the playing field considerably.

Iris Kingston

Location: Justice Asylum
Skills: N/A

The alarms went off and Iris let out a sigh of relief. At least the orderlies and staff were alerted that a situation was in progress - and if she was lucky, the details on it would have been spread quickly. Unfortunately, she was still locked in Jaina's isolation chamber with the corpse of an orderly and no way out. With Jaina attempting to escape - or being abducted, both seemed equally likely to Iris at this point - she imagined security would be focused on the patient and not on getting her out of the room. "Would someone get zhe bloody door open?" Iris then called out.

Her accent always got a little bit funny when she was angry. While she grew up in England and was raised by a English mother, her father was French. For the most part, her accent was biased towards the British, with the occasional French phrase and expression thrown in. Yet in times of crisis or anxiety, her prim and proper British combined with the French, creating the interesting hybrid that was now emanating from her.

"To go Bazhooli, we must do this next trick...on fire!" Jaina called out with a squeal, before going into what could only be described as a crazed frenzy. In an inspired mixture of acrobatics and Tae Kwan Do, Jaina first twirled her hand invitingly towards the guards. "Welcome one, welcome all! Step right up and test your luck against the Amazing Aurora!" Jaina called out.

"We have a special treat for you all tonight, as Risa, the Shadow of the Night, teams up with our star acrobat in this show exclusive to Justice, California. There will be fun, excitement, glamor, and most importantly, knives~!" She then paused for a second, before going berserk. She attempted to throw herself into a cartwheel, aiming to use the force of her body to knock one of the guards to the ground as she came down. With each guard that she struck, she'd shout out the number with a little squeal. She was so happy, she had almost entirely forgotten that part two of the plan involved getting out.

Dr. Dorothy Pender & Dr. Fitz Townsley

Location: Lady Luck's
Skills: N/A

"The air was just fine, thanks," Dorothy said. "Beats the Black any day," she then added. She raised a bit of an eyebrow at her medical counterpart. Given that she had suggested the game to play, she thought it was obvious that she was in. She nodded to give him clearer confirmation. While she couldn't boast any specific skills when it came to gambling, she enjoyed card games. Hopefully, the two recently made ex-Alliance crew members wouldn't manage to get on her nerves once more.

"S-so you cut hair...And m-m-make things more entertaining?" Fitz said slowly. He was understanding less and less about this crew. Despite his relative inexperience with this sort of thing, he found it hard to believe that they were typical. In fact, they all seemed to be a little bit insane. A few minutes ago, tensions had been high and shots quite literally fired. Now, everything seemed to be back to this odd state of normal.

Fitz wasn't sure if he liked this crew or was a bit terrified of them.

"Mei-mei...How you holding up?" Dorothy said quietly. It was the first thing she had said to her sister since Anisa fired her weapon. Dorothy's voice broke slightly but she did her best to hide it. She didn't want to make the situation any worse. But she also needed to know that Daphne was okay - and to know that Daphne knew that Dorothy still cared for her.

"Wh-what are the rules, b-by the way?" Fitz asked, taking the cards that were handed to him. He had played a lot of games in his life but he hadn't gambled. He could pick up a new adventure game and understand the mechanics after a few brief minutes of study, but he didn't know where to start with any shape or form of poker. He knew that cards were involved and that was just about it - and coy expressions to keep people from knowing what sort of hand you had.
We seem to have a good sized group between the two interest checks - I'm aiming to get the OOC up this weekend ^_^

Nine smirked slightly at Ten's words. She couldn't help but take an almost immediate liking to him. All of the others seemed to be timid or afraid - and she could hardly blame them with the circumstances they had woken up underneath. She had already taken it upon herself to make decisions and to ensure their survival. Ten was the first one to show any real sign of a personality - as rough and corny as it was. "Good. Then we'll need your expertise to determine what exactly has been done to us," Nine said.

Seven, Six, and Two seemed to had ventured out of their shells slightly. Yet even then, Nine felt the pause as the soldier waited for her agreement. She was the one that had started the shooting - and she didn't regret it. She'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. The soldiers weren't to be trusted - perhaps not even this one. Maybe it was genuine kindness towards them that motivated his actions, but she doubted it. She imagined it was fear and self preservation - which made him even more dangerous than before.

"I don't trust you," Nine said bluntly. "So lead the way - but you so much as even give me a bad feeling, you'll be dead," Nine warned him. "You came here to kill us willingly. Don't think you can earn our trust back so easily."
@OfWindAndRain It's a high-casual RP. All of the detail is to let you guys see the world that your characters would live in. If you do not like this RP, I kindly suggest that you refrain from posting in here.

Nora Kingston

Location: Permit Office
Skills: Social Etiquette (Upper Class)

Nora quickly followed after Lady Munn, finding herself quite perplexed as Lady Munn seemingly collapsed against the wall, her knees giving out ever so slightly and her breathing hardly steady. It was as if Lady Munn had only a finite amount of strength and courage within her and it had all been expended in order to get that permit. Nora's eyes glanced up and down the hallway, confirming that there was no one else in sight. She doubted that Lady Munn wished to be seen presently. "There is nothing that you need apologize for, Lady Munn," Nora reassured her.

"I always found that fainting spells could be easily remedied by placing oneself in a seated position," Nora recommended, holding out her hand as to help Lady Munn steady herself. She had spent a large portion of her childhood in the various stages of illness, which included a fair amount of time feeling as if she was on the verge of fainting - either that or about to lose whatever meager meal she had been served. "Yet Lady Munn, I must commend you for your actions. You did nothing that you should feel ashamed for. You secured the permit that we need in order to undertake this expedition and to uncover the source of all of these perplexities."

"And with Peter's return, it is hardly surprising that you should find yourself a bit frazzled," Nora said quietly. "It is rare for our loved ones to escape from certain death." Nora would know. She had lost a brother in the war.
