Guinevere Stark

Guin snorted a bit at Lance's comment, cracking a smile at him in return. She understood why everyone assumed his last name was Banner - and she especially understood his irritation with people insisting on using it. Had she ever been called by her mother's surname, she would have gone ballistic. The teacher was lecturing on the fundamental forces of the world and Guin yawned a bit, scribbling down random phrases on her piece of paper. They looked like the buzzwords for a thought cloud:

Physics... Newton... Strong Force...Weak Force...Maxwell...

She then looked at Lance and poked him with her pencil. "Pssst. How much longer until this class is over? I'm dying of boredom and it's only been two minutes..." she whispered.

Guinevere Stark

The teacher gave Guin a bit of a look. Sure, they were used to students being pains and acting disrespectful, but the teacher had expected more from the Stark Industries heiress. She had seen Guin's entrance exam scores - she was brilliant. But if she could pick a phrase to describe Guinevere Stark in that moment, it was teenage angst. "I am unaware how your previous schools ran things, Ms. Stark, but we do not talk to teachers that way here," the teacher said sternly.

"Whatever..." Guin said. She'd heard this thing before. "Don't even really want to be here, so if you want to kick me out, that's cool."

The teacher huffed. "Sit down, Ms. Stark. There's an open seat next to Mr. Banner. I assume you two know each other."

Guin rolled her eyes, taking a seat down next to Lance. She didn't bother to take out anything to jot down notes with. It was advanced physics, but any formula she didn't already know would be found in a textbook. The teacher shot her a bit of a look and with a groan, Guin took out a notebook and started to sketch, popping in her earbuds and listening to her music again.

Guinevere Stark

Guin had been out of rehab for less than two weeks and in some ways, she wished that she was still there. Tony had managed to shut down most of the press surrounding it, but there were still tabloids that reported on it. She had refused to return to her boarding school, managing to convince the therapists that part of her drug abuse was due to an abduction attempt there from the previous year.

The only benefit to her school, MidTown Tech, was that she'd be having classes with her best friend, Lance. Tony had pulled some strings with the admin, getting her the same schedule as him. He also had budgeted up all of her free time with an 'internship' - essentially, making it so she'd be supervised constantly. It was irritating, but she could hardly blame him. She had almost overdosed.

It felt a little weird, not having to wear a uniform. Tony had gotten her a bunch of MidTown Tech gear, as if that would somehow entice her to like the school. She was wearing jeans, combat boots, and a MidTown Tech sweatshirt as she grabbed her book bag and took the elevator down to the bottom floor of Stark Tower. She pulled out her walkman, a gift her father had given her for her twelfth birthday, put her earbuds in, and pressed play.

Guin walked most of the way from Stark Tower to the high school, not caring that she ended up being late and missed homeroom entirely. She didn't understand the concept of having a class where literally nothing at all was taught. Her hands were twitching slightly and she could have killed for a cigarette. She pulled out her watch, tapping it twice as P.H.I.L. brought up her schedule for her. It was a day filled with the hardest classes Midtown Tech had to offer, and even then, she felt concerned it wouldn't be challenging enough for her.

She opened the door to her first class of the day, the bell ringing just as she did so. The physics teacher glanced over at her, a bit annoyed that she had come in so late.

"You must be Ms. Stark - you're late," the teacher said.

Guin pulled out her earbuds. "Yeah, whatever. Sue me."

@Nallore@FantasyChic@BlueSky44
December 29th, 2016 - 12:05 P.M. EST - 1 Day Since Hel Returned

The next few hours went by relatively quickly. The small group in Coventry managed to banish the demon, but not without getting a tip. Apparently, word on the demon grapevine was that O.M.E.N. agents could be found in Boston at the moment, investigating the disappearance of Edwina Fairfax. Together, the three of them managed to figure out that the O.M.E.N. agents could be found at a small hotel in Boston called Cromwell House. It tended to rent rooms on a long term basis, with a lot of students in the area using it instead of dormitory housing.

Mallory and Jessica ended up renting a room at Cromwell House as well. It wasn't too far from Fenway Park and Mallory was disappointed to learn that Green Monster wasn't actually a terrifying beast. The hotel felt unsettling to Mallory and Jessica both, but safe at the same time. Mallory didn't know why, but she had a strong theory that they were invisible to Hel there - perhaps one of the few places in the world that Hel wouldn't be able to find them. The house is filled with restless spirits and a certain dark energy.

Rhodes pulled through for Alex and Ricky, managing to get them transported to Boston and set up with supplies. Ricky managed to get in contact with Jade Cornish, with the MI13 agent informing him that she and some others had set up a temporary HQ at a rented set of rooms at Cromwell House. Hopefully they'd be able to figure out a plan to defeat Hel - and soon. And as for the hunters, they managed to construct all of the wardings they needed, etching one of the sigils onto the back of an elaborately constructed throne for Hel they put up at the cabin in Springfield. Their plan was in motion - and hopefully, it would work.

Jade Cornish

Location: Cromwell House - Suite 313 - O.M.E.N. Temporary HQ
Interacting With: Various

Jade was lying down on the ground of the rented room, staring up at the ceiling. There was a half empty bottle of whiskey next to her. A few other agents were making calls in the other room, trying to track down Hel's movements as well as anyone else who might be available to help them. The physicist had been a dead end - literally. There was nothing that Jade and the others had managed to find to connect her to Hel. The only thing troubling in Edwina's file was her relation to a few of the dead bodies that had been found at Coventry - such as her uncle's, Boris Valeska, born Jack Fairfax.

They had no leads on Hel's location. Every time it looked like they found one, reports of sightings that appeared to be credible happened halfway across the country. She closed her eyes, mentally repaying the footage she had seen of Hel's attack at ground zero. She had a bit of a gift sometimes when it came to memory. If she shut her eyes, it was like she was there herself. There was one piece of the puzzle that she was missing - something that the security footage couldn't shown her. Why leave survivors? Hel didn't strike her as the merciful type. Maybe it was to inspire fear - but she knew that there would be tapes for that. And decimating O.M.E.N. in itself was terror inducing enough.

"What did she tell you to do?" Jade asked, opening her eyes and looking at Alex the minute he entered the room.

Robin Ramírez & Aloise Zamora

Location: Cabin in Springfield
Interacting With: Mariana Garcia @Nallore

"She'll be here any moment now," Aloise said, breaking the tense silence. They had set up the throne to Hel right next to the fireplace. Robin was sipping water to settle her nerves - she wasn't an especially big drinker. And while she wasn't the type to get nervous before a hunt, this was the big one. As soon as Hel shut the gates of heaven and hell closed, they were going to trap her and kill her. The wards were all prepared and they had gone over the plan what seemed to be a million times.

"It's been nice knowing you, prima," Robin said to her cousin with a nod. She had a horrible feeling that they wouldn't all be making it out of this situation alive. But given who they were going up against, the odds weren't exactly in their favor. There was a flash of emerald light outside the cabin and Aloise took in a deep breath. Hel was outside. She could feel the change of the energy in the air.

It was time.

Guinevere Stark & Folly Valeska

Location: Grounds of the Institute

Guin got there just in time to hear Mary's Star Wars reference and she couldn't have been prouder of her friend. Of course, she was also beaming because her EMP grenade took down a Sentinel like a drunken prom date. She sent another one off, figuring that the more of these things they could take down, the better. "These buckets of bolts are definitely Hammer Tech," she said with a bit of a laugh. "I'm not even sure these things will be hard to hack anymore," she added to Cassandra. "Could even make a drinking game out of it - take a shot for every Sentinel you disable effortlessly. Be completely hammered by the end of the night - which I guess is why it's called Hammer Tech, right?" she boasted.

"Shit that's cool..." Guin said as Thalia landed with Folly. Folly hadn't mentioned anything about what had just happened - she didn't need to. She knew that Thalia had her little visitor on occasion and with all of the meddling with time, she wasn't surprised that he had come back. And she certainly wasn't going to be freaked out by it - when she was off of her medication, Folly saw people that weren't really there all the time. Folly stared at Mary for a moment, realizing from the conversations that the others had told her what was going to happen.

Guin tried not to gag as Nina showed up. She would have preferred another Sentinel came their way than Nina of all people coming to help. She was just waiting for the day that Nina decided to sleep with Hank Pym or someone and she'd be out of her life for good. She also was tempted to remind Nina that Cass wasn't in charge - Mary was. In fact, a lot of people seemed to need that reminder. S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't have any authority here unless the field commander of the X-Men decided they did. And that just so happened to be Mary.

Richard's words were the last straw, and while Guin knew Mary was fuming, NO ONE talked about her friends like that. She walked up to the glorified babysitter and decked him across the jaw, hard enough to send him stumbling backwards and for him to spit a bit of blood out of his mouth. He wouldn't be able to drag Mary anymore. "Okay, in case people need a reminder, Mary is fucking in charge! It's called chain of command. Until the day Xavier takes her out of the position, she leads the X-Men. S.H.I.E.L.D. is here in an assistive capacity, meaning Mary makes the plans and S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't. Don't like it, you can fucking go to hell!" She hadn't heard that Mary was supposedly going to die, but even if she had, it wouldn't have changed her mind. Any changes of heart she'd had about Richard vanished. No one called her best friend a weed. No one.

Folly raised an eyebrow at Guin. "You're much calmer these days," she mused.

Dean Kesseli

Location: Blackbird

Dean couldn't help but feel a bit surprised. He thought Starks were just born knowing everything there was to know about science and technology. However, he then remembered where Mira was from - Wakanda. Her slight accent gave it away. And from what he had heard in rumors, they were way more technologically advanced than they appeared to be. "Can you figure it out, then? Did they teach how to fly planes in Wakandan schools?" he asked her.

"Yeah, actually..." Dean said, before trying to think of something for Bethany to do. "Any chance you know how to give someone stitches and a blood transfusion?" He had a feeling Beast was going to need both of those. While he had bandaged him up and done his best to stop the bleeding, it was all a temporary fix at best. He was hoping that people would get onto the Blackbird soon, but the speedsters seemed to be off somewhere still so he doubted it was happening any time soon. The sooner they took off, the sooner they could find someone with more medical experience than a teenage boy.

"Uh, Mira....Where are we flying to if this thing takes off? Could it be somewhere with actual medical personnel? That'd be pretty cool if that's at all possible..."

Iris Kingston

Location: Justice Asylum
Skills: Perception, Photographic Memory

Iris paused in the common area of the asylum as she headed back to her office, the news report catching her eye. The soap opera itself wasn't interesting, but the mention of the Russian Circus, followed by a blonde with a ponytail...She wasn't a huge believer in coincidence, yet Iris was certain the two figures she couldn't make out on the screen were her missing patients. The Russian Circus seemed to be involved somehow as well, and on reflection, it made sense. Jaina had been a member prior to the accident, according to her files.

"Nurse Cratty? If anyone needs me, I'm going out - doing some research for a patient," Iris said, stopping by the nurse's station as she headed out. Once she was outside of the asylum, Iris thought as to whether or not she should let Tinder know what she was doing - but he seemed to be rather busy. She pulled out her phone, doing a quick search as to where she could find the Russian Circus. Hopefully they'd have some information for her - and if they did, then she could forward that onto the agent. She didn't want to waste his time when he was in a life and death situation.

Meanwhile, Iris' third cousin, coroner extraordinaire, shot off the following replies -

To: Old Man Logan
Driving. Got Dr. Strange replying for me. Putting in the request now.
To: Gambit
Stay safe!

Dr. Dorothy Pender & Dr. Fitz Townsley

Location: Prometheus: Dock -> Lower Deck
Skills: N/A

Once they had arrived at the Dragonfly vessel, Fitz had become vaguely aware of the dynamic between Jackie and Daphne. He wasn't too sure why he was getting the impression, but he doubted the two of them would get along. There was just something off - something he couldn't put his finger on. Had he been in this sort of situation before, perhaps he would have realized what was going on, but instead, he was clueless. Dorothy nodded once Anisa went over the rules, before turning to the newcomers.

"Please, follow me," she said, before boarding the ship and motioning for them to follow her. She wouldn't have been surprised if Daphne followed her as well, given that the newcomers had sleeping quarters near Daphne's. Fitz followed Dorothy, a bit surprised but still happy that he had been welcomed onto the ship. He hoped his feeling about Daphne and Jackie was wrong - he wanted his friends to be friends with each other. And well...maybe if things worked out, Daphne would be more than a friend. He blushed nervously just at the thought.

Dorothy led the way down to the passenger's sleeping quarters. She kept checking to make sure that at least the new trio was following her. "Crew sleeping quarters are on the upper deck," Dorothy explained. "Galley is also on the upper deck, while you can find medical here on the lower deck," she added, figuring that they should have a general idea of where to find things. "If you are not sure if you are authorized to be in an area, please do ask and we won't have any problems."

Fitz nodded, having every intention of following every rule given to him. Dorothy paused once they had reached the dorms, standing outside of Daphne's room as she considered the assignments. "Mei - in here," Dorothy said, gesturing to the top center room. "Jackie, the next one down - and Fitz, you'll be in the last one after that," Dorothy concluded. She had to resist the urge to put Fitz in the room directly next to her sister's.

Virginia Crypt

Location: Regent Park -> Corner of Portland Place & Oxford Street
Skills: N/A

Virginia largely tuned out Mary and Elizaveta's session of prayer. She did not often speak of her religion, though had she been asked about it, she gladly would have gone over its details. She found that in her experience, many simply assumed that she was not Christian and thus could not have a proper religion of her own. And those that asked often just wrote her off as being pagan - it was a waste of everyone's time and confused Virginia to no end the amount of prejudice centered on religion.

Yet for some reason, she felt compelled to whisper a prayer to her patron, Veliona - the Dark Mother, the Guardian Goddess, Goddess of Death and Warden of Ancestors. It was a simple prayer that she had memorized when she was younger, knowing what it meant in English but unable to translate it word by word. She could not help but wonder what Mary would think of her religion - if she would simply label it as wickedness. She imagined that Mary wouldn't, but then again, the Crypt family never found anything particularly wrong with being wicked.

She nodded slightly at Veta's words, before mumbling a silent thanks to Veliona. She had said a soft prayer to her, and with their ease of speed, she found it only appropriate to thank her patron deity.

Nora Kingston

Location: The Egyptian Museum - Vera's Office
Skills: Deduction, Intuition

Nora glanced up as the others came in, before nodding. She had indeed found something. She made her way over to Lady Munn, showing her the rubbing she had made. "This is perhaps the most interesting thing of note that I have uncovered," she said quietly. Although there were Vera's notes on the discovery, the coordinates were in a different hand. She had done enough work as an assistant and enough reading notes in college that she was positive the penmanship of the latter had not been Lady Munn's work. "These coordinates - 30.5704° N, 31.5149° E - I would like to see what location these specify." She then jotted them down in her own notebook and slipped it back into her purse.

"And please, I hope this has helped to recover some of your notes," Nora added softly, handing the paper to Lady Munn so that way she might keep it. Nora understood what a great loss it would be to have notes stolen, especially on such a crucial investigation. She always found that problems became much more simple when she put pen to paper, even if she was simply reorganizing observations she had already made. She returned Lauren's smile as she came in, wondering what the others had managed to discover in the time she had spent in the office. "There is also some curious dust on the rug...More than I would imagine would collect on its own over time," she added to Lady Munn.

"I hope that you may have stumbled upon some new information as well?"
