Dear Mr Curly,
I have done little travelling lately because I have been so dreadfully weary. Can it be true as the old Ecclesiastes said; that all things lead to weariness? Surely not. Perhaps the opposite is true: that all nothings lead to weariness. I have a peculiar feeling, Curly, that I am worn out from something I haven't yet done and the more I don't do it, the more exhausted I become. How strange. Could it be something I haven't realised? Perhaps it's something I haven't said? Something I haven't finished! It must be very large and true whatever it is and a lively struggle in the doing but I look forward to it immensely. I know I need it. First, however, I must curl up in my chair and sleep deeply with the duck. Perhaps I'll dream of this thing and wake up refreshed and do it. My fond wishes to you Mr. Curly, and to all Curly Flat.
Yours sleepily,
Vasco Pyjama

P.S. Not having breakfast can make you weary. That's for sure!

Lunise stroked her thumb over Meesei's wrist to comfort her. "That is most unenviable," she said after a pause. She looked down and around, hesitating. "I will not force you to speak of the detail, but I am trying to understand what happened. What did that book do to you? And how did your pack help you?"

After spending the rest of the day dealing with Lunise's arrogant public face that she put on for the others, her genuinely concerned tone here was alike to a different person.

"I was unaware that your progress against Vile's gas weapons came from a third Daedric prince," she added.
Lunise was quick to pick up on the way Meesei used the enchantment. She made Meesei's ring warm up and blink with light while she spoke.

At the mention of being a couple, Lunise breath shallowed and she looked up at Meesei's eyes again. "I can never expect you to do anything by halves, can I?" She shook her head. Another hint of smile peeked onto her lips, though it was just as quickly replaced by a curious frown. "Meesei, you mentioned that you learnt these dead magical techniques at great cost to yourself. I have no grounds to disbelieve you, yet I am still curious." Lunise's hands enclosed Meesei's ring hand and rested on top of her leg. "What happened?"
@Kho Wait, that was a thing?

I must have completely forgot when making Conata. No one seemed to mind. >_>
~GOSH I SURE HOPE NOBODY LOOKS THROUGH THESE REFERENCE IMAGES AND INTERPRETS THEM AS A TEASER~

termit pls

Also, some of our reference images are overlapping. I mean, not that I have a story idea to use them right now or anything. But, you know, I naturally looked through some of the internet for all things pretty porcelain.

Whoever uses them first wins?

I can totally match your writing rate, yeah. Totally.
Lunise's stiffness in front of Meesei eased when she was embraced. She had been her professional self all day, only now allowing herself an unabridged show of affection.

To say that Lunise was curious about the gift Meesei presented was not a complete picture. She was caught breathing in, unsure of what to say. As Meesei explained its purpose, she took the ring between her fingers and turned it curiously in front of her forward-held head.

"Impressive," she said. A hint of amusement warmed her lips. "I am sure a skilled bard could orate a romantic meaning in such a device." Her eyes peered up to Meesei. "You went out of your way for this, do not deny it." She slid off a glove and donned the ring over her left finger. After one final inspection, she brought her ring hand around Meesei's head and pulled her to place a kiss on the top of her head. "I appreciate this, Meesei. You have my thanks."

An apprehensive thought came over Lunise as she looked down on the ring's gem. It made her lower her brow slightly as she walked over to the chair by her desk. "I wish I could wear this all the time. Even the sentiment is valuable, but..." She breathed in to think. "I trust you will understand if I must leave it elsewhere during certain meetings or activities?" She turned around her chair to face out from the desk and took a seat, turning the ring on her finger.

The bed was nearby to sit upon, as was a stool in the corner of the room, if Meesei felt so inclined.
I need to knuckle down on exam study. I'll be online, but I probably won't post until you're asleep.
@Scarifar Don't mistake my caps locking. Elves are by no means off limits. I would just prefer them to make sense in the context of Galbar, if they are present.

To make it concise, my main gripe is really their lifespan. If you either ditched that or changed their brains enough to demonstrate that the long lifespan works, I'm open to new incarnations of the pointy-eared Hugo Weavings. I'm sure everyone else would be open as well.
@Antarctic Termite I'd say that's distant enough from Tolkien elves to be tolerable. My beef with them, particularly when they're xeroxed into other fantasy settings, is fourfold:

As for what you suggest, Termite, obsessive anorexic hypersensitive reeeeeee-screamers with a regular mortal lifespan work just fine for me, especially if it was on Galbar. They would just need some means of not getting eaten.
While they arrived back at the keep so late that the sun was near to setting, there were still some hours of the day remaining for Julan and Rhazii. Unfortunately for Rhazii, Julan's curiosity had ultimately resulted in his parents finding out about his exploits. Fendros and Ahnasha were surprised, but not angered. They patiently sat down in private with Rhazii to work it through with him. He had indeed taken responsibility for bringing a pair of potions. Rhazii insisted that he had seen Jatinha take the disease curing potion, and he presented the skin of contraceptive potion still full. He said they didn't need it.

Also unfortunate was Rhazii decision to take the potions from Sabine's supplies without asking. Fendros and Ahnasha set discipline for him on the spot, but there was more to the story. Fendros and Ahnasha asked about Rhazii's feelings for Jatinha. At this, he burst into tears. Jatinha was the first girl he had ever been intimate with, and he liked her intensely, but he wasn't thinking in the long term. A relationship between them would never happen, simply because the pack would be moving on soon.

Fendros resolved that, tomorrow, Rhazii would write Jatinha a letter with a rose attached, thanking her and closing the issue. Then he would help clean the count's stable to make up for the potion.

As for Fendros himself, he was surprised that he was able to keep his temper back. Training his magic with Sabine all day brought him a surprisingly great leap of progress given that Sabine could directly transfer her magicka reserves. Although, her regime was nothing short of enervating in its drills and concentration. He went to bed holding Ahnasha tightly, knowing that tomorrow would entail the same thing.

The many interconnected issues within the pack distracted them from any suspicion of Meesei's activities. Her and Lunise were free to enjoy their bath and fall asleep in each other's arms.

Much to everyone's relief in the pack, nothing unexpected occurred over the next day. They trained, rested, maintained themselves and their equipment, and carried out their plans.

Where most of the change could be felt was in the meeting between Marod, Lunise, Areldril, and Meesei. Lunise was stony towards Meesei to the point of utter disregard for their previous day and night. Even her uniform and hair was clean and prim, free of any sand, salt, or scent. The change laid in the dynamic between her and Marod. There was an extra tension and suspicion in Lunise regarding Marod's suggestions, almost as if she was threatened by him.

That night, the door Meesei knocked unlatched and creaked open to reveal Lunise still in her uniform. She wore her regular scowl, but visibly relaxed her shoulders when she saw Meesei. She stood aside to let her in. "Good evening, Meesei."

Once Meesei entered, Lunise closed the door behind them and shot a green spell into the lock. It snapped shut.

Lunise turned around and clasped her hands behind her back. Her mouth twitched when Meesei smiled at her. "I understand you have been busy today."
