Overwatch operated as a joint SHIELD–UN task force created to respond to crises that exceeded the reach or jurisdiction of any single nation. It worked in the shadows, handling metahuman incidents, rogue science threats, and politically sensitive conflicts that governments could not publicly acknowledge. Its roster blended elite soldiers, intelligence operatives, scientists, and enhanced individuals whose abilities made them uniquely suited for rapid response missions.

Lena Oxton, a former RAF pilot, joined the task force after a chronal displacement accident left her body stuck in time. Stabilised by the chronal accelerator she now wears, she became one of Overwatch’s most agile operatives, specialising in infiltration, extraction, and high risk civilian protection. She went by the moniker Tracer, a name that reflected both her abilities and her presence on the field. She formed deep bonds with her teammates and carried the spirit of Overwatch’s idealism even when missions demanded secrecy and sacrifice.

The task force collapsed when tensions between Gabriel Reyes, former head of Blackwatch covert operations, and Jack Morrison, former field commander of Overwatch, escalated into open conflict. Their feud culminated in the destruction of Overwatch’s Swiss headquarters, an explosion that killed personnel, shattered public trust, and gave world governments the justification they needed to shut the program down. In the aftermath, members scattered. Some folded into SHIELD, some returned to their home agencies, and others disappeared into private life. Tracer tried to do the same, attempting to build a normal existence away from covert operations. Reports of Talon resurfacing across Europe have pulled her back into action, determined to stop Talon before they gain momentum again.

Should note that I’m omitting certain elements from the world of Overwatch in order for this concept to work in this shared universe. Omnics don’t exist for example and obviously the world isn’t as technologically advanced as that in the Overwatch universe. I’m mainly focusing on Overwatch and Talon themselves, rather than the various other factions in the universe.

I fell in love with Overwatch and its world when I first started playing it many years ago and eagerly awaited each new lore drop. I always wanted to explore that universe myself and see where the story of Overwatch’s reunion and Talon’s return might lead. This is as good an opportunity as any.

We will be following Tracer’s investigation into Talon, taking her across the globe as she attempts to stop their operations. I can see her encountering a range of mercenaries and assassins as she tries to track down their source. At the same time, she will be looking into contacts from her old Overwatch days, potentially leading toward the formation of a new Overwatch.

I want to delve deeper into the world of secret agencies, mapping out SHIELD, Overwatch, Talon, and other villainous organisations as they appear. This can hopefully lead to collaboration with anyone else playing characters in similar spaces, such as Captain America or the Winter Soldier.

Given the superhero nature of Tracer, she can also work in a wide variety of scenarios, so collaboration is not restricted to the themes above.

Yeah, I think the difficulty of including Terminator is that having an apocalyptic future war between humans and machines is necessary for the concept, which really narrows every other character who might want to do future shenanigans (Booster Gold, Legion of Super-Heroes, etc).

I will say, X-Men do alternative futures all the time and that seems to work (although some maybe disagree). Just as long as it’s stated in story that it’s just one possible future rather than THE future
So does Terminator count? Probably not :p

Can’t speak for Wraith but I imagine that would be ok. Just depends on the concept you create a sheet for.

Like what stories would you tell with Terminator in this shared universe? What other characters would you pair them with? As someone who is playing a non Marvel/DC, I think one of the best bits is seeing him interact with characters that he wouldn’t normally interact with.

|| Approximately 62 miles from Bellwood, Earth

Agent Marcus Hale pushed aside a low branch and signalled his squad forward, boots sinking into damp soil as they followed the trail deeper into the forest. The sun was dipping behind the treeline, turning everything a muted gold that did nothing to ease the knot in his stomach.

S.W.O.R.D. had sent in Hale’s mobile containment division a few days ago now. They had been combing this stretch of the East Coast since then, tracking the Brood pack that had crawled out of the crashed pod. Each new sign brought them closer, tightening the circle around their quarry.

Too close, Hale thought.

He had read every file S.W.O.R.D. had on the Brood. Every incursion. Every casualty report. Every grainy helmet‑cam recording of chitinous shapes tearing through containment teams. He knew their biology, their hive structure, their hunting patterns.

Knowing was one thing. Actually facing them was another.

Trail’s still fresh. Multiple sets. Moving fast.” murmured Agent Ruiz, scanning the ground.

Hale nodded. Ruiz was the new of the team, only 22, yet Hale trusted him completely. He’d even given a toast at his wedding a few months ago.

The forest floor was torn up in long, purposeful lines. Trees were gouged. The underbrush flattened. Clearly something had been here recently.

Eyes sharp. They’re close.” Hale said quietly.

The squad moved in a tight formation, rifles raised, flashlights cutting thin beams through the thickening shadows. The forest around them felt wrong. Too quiet. Too expectant.

They reached a small clearing near a stream. Hale stopped short.

A deer lay collapsed near the waterline. It wasn’t moving. Its flank was torn open in long, ragged strips, ribs exposed where something had ripped through with methodical force. The ground around it was churned and darkened, the soil disturbed by claws that had pinned it down.

Hale felt his stomach twist. The files had warned him what Brood feeding looked like, but seeing the aftermath in person was something else entirely.

A twig snapped.

Hale froze.

Another snap.

Then a low, rhythmic clicking.

The squad tightened instantly, forming a defensive circle. Flashlights swung through the trees.

Shapes shifted between the trunks. Chitin glinted. Eyes reflected back the beams of light.

Hale’s breath caught. Seeing them through a screen had not prepared him for the size of their insecticide bodies, the stillness, the predatory focus. The Brood moved with a terrifying patience, circling the squad with the quiet confidence of creatures that had already decided the outcome.

Sir… we’ve got at least 6. Maybe 7.” Ruiz whispered.

Hale swallowed. “Hold formation. No sudden moves.

Then he noticed something strange.

Thin metal chains wrapped around the Brood’s limbs and thoraxes, trailing upward into the canopy. He followed the lines with his eyes, but the branches above were swallowed in shadow.

Someone was controlling them. Someone strong enough to leash a Brood pack.

The clicking stopped.

The forest held its breath.

Then a voice drifted down from somewhere above them.

Feast.

The Brood surged forward.
I think I’m going to withdraw my Spider-Man application. Besides preferring Eddie’s post to my own, I realise I don’t have a massive passion for this idea like I do with Ben and a few others I’ve been turning over in my head.

May try a different idea at one point soon, but for now I’m happy with just Ben
Alright, Webheads, by the rules, you now have 72-hours to submit in-character sample posts for the characters.

May the best Spidey win!

Here’s one I wrote earlier…
Oh no, a clock has been started on my fence-sitting!

Genuinely, if you're planning on Spidey yourself, I'm more than happy to withdraw him! I have other ideas I was debating between and i'd be fine going that route instead
It was the above, or an anthology series about my favourite Justice League iteration

Since we've lost a bit of blood here, why not get a second character in the mix

Spider‑Man has been swinging over New York for nearly half his life now, a twenty‑eight‑year‑old veteran hero who still treats every crisis like it’s his responsibility alone. He’s fought most of his rogue gallery at this point and has survived more than he ever admits. Aunt May remains the quiet anchor in his life, along with his long-term partner Mary Jane Watson; the two constants in his life that he protects just as fiercely as the city itself. He’s older, sharper, and a little more tired than the kid who first put on the mask, but the heart of him hasn’t changed.

I'm not here to reinvent the wheel with Spidey. We all know who he is.

I'm just here to write a few short adventures about the wallcrawler, trying to bring together some of the aspects of the mythos that I personally love. He's going to swing around New York, save some lives and punch some bad guys.

I'm also keen to do a lot of collaboration. My first "arc" is planned with some breathing room, perfect for him to interact with the various heroes of the city. This is something I'm somewhat missing with Ben, given he's not based in such a popular location normally. Much like MB's concept, this is an older, more experienced, Spidey, so i'm keen to have him pass on some wisdom (even if said wisdom happens to just be the tried and tested "with great power comes great responsibility."

Oh, and Big Wheel. I want to write Big Wheel.
