For as long as I can remember I've been a writer. I've made characters and told tales. I've painted pictures and shared information. I've struck nerves and inspired. I've been an artist with words. A gamer whose only console is the English language itself.
But now so much has changed in my life. So much has happened that has left me wordless. I am not the same. But still I write. Only now I'm trying to find a new voice. A new style. A different genre to suit an upgraded and expansive point of view.
The old rules no longer apply. I'm tired of hyperrealism. I've had it up to here (very high up) with antiheroes. When everyone's an antihero, the villains have won. I'm so sick of the jaded cynicism of modernity and the deconstructive apathy of post modernity.
Sure, sometimes the hopelessness arises. Sometimes it's overwhelming. It's depressing to see how divisive everything is becoming, how AI slop is taking over the internet while creative humans languish in obscurity, how prevalent addictions and job insecurity are becoming in supposedly first world nations. Sometimes it feels like the whole world is about to really burn down all around us.
But that's why we can't give up. Why storytellers, writers, and potential protagonists of our own tales can't stop sharpening our wits or flexing our imaginations. When doom seems certain and darkness fills the foreseeable future, that's when a new story - a story of light and hope - is needed the most. And WE can tell that story.
I'm looking for a few good rps in which to stretch my creativity. I'm not looking for anything too dark, lewd, or demonic. Nothing that glorifies sorcery or homosexuality. Nothing that overuses mature themes like they're some kind of addiction. Please no edgelords, murderhobos, or haters.
I want romances that not only fade to black but that don't focus exclusively on sexual passion a if that's the only part of love that there is. I want lighthearted adventures, yes with intense or perhaps even horrific moments, but with the hope filled promise of a happy ending. I want themes like Iyashikei and NobleBright.
I want superhero roleplays that are more four color comic book style adventures than grim and gritty realism. I want slices of life that are more about joy and healing than drama and strife. I want Star Wars roleplays that reach back to a time before George Lucas and then Disney started changing and ruining everything - a time when there were just three movies and an expanded universe that wasn't set in stone.
I guess want I'm saying is I want to write things that aren't too popular these days, but might've been popular decades ago.
If that sounds like something that interests you, let me know.
Sorry guys, but after repeatedly trying to write up a character who fits this rp and then realizing that my idea would be no fun to actually play, I'm going to call it quits on this one.
@KatherinWinter Yay! Unleash the elf! Let's see her in all of her elfy, thievish glory!
@Mistress Dizzy I mean, I get that what a person chooses to carry with them can reveal alot about who they are. But I'm waaaaaaay more interested in seeing who Kassandra is and how she acts.
...and how she reacts when a seven foot reptile warrior starts doing rhythmic tribal dances to her music...
Not sure if Gawzarth is going to be a very shrewd negotiator this time, though. He might disappoint Kealsha. He's already gained a slight appreciation for the stranger's stealth/hunting skills. And he's annoyed by the cold enough to not really care about doing the thing they've done before.
“Paul prays that we would know Christ's exaltation over all things and his filling of all things. God raised Jesus from the dead and seated him at his right hand of power for an interminable length of time in a position that is far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion. Therefore, all rulers, authorities, powers, and dominions that ar not in line with Christ's assertive reign are liable to dismantling,, destruction, and everlasting conscious torment. That is what awaits all the evildoers who cling to their treasonous sin. Christ's filling all things corresponds to his authoritative will extending to every place, even hell. Every tear of those found faithful in Christ Jesus will be wiped away. And all who are found outside of Christ will justly endure his wrath.
The power and authority that are Christ's to punish his enemies are also his to make his enemies his friends. Even bloodthirsty predators who lie in wait for the blood of innocent people may yet repent of their sin and accept Jesus's offer of amnesty through his shed blood on the cross. Even those who are indifferent to Christ may yet be caughtup in delight in his person and work. The gospel extends to more and more people every day, while Christ tarries and his judgement is still forthcoming.
God's power, which raised Jesus from the dead, enthroned him, and subjects all things to him, is what brings about and sustains the new-creation life. The heaving contractions of death pangs that would seek to destroy the eternal Son and usurp his power have been overturned by God's power. Instead, the grave bursts open in new life as the Son of Man rises from the dead and is exalted far above all things by the power of God. This is the same power of God that will assuredly raise all those united to Christ by faith."
