Aya hugged her back tightly and she helped move them somewhere they wouldn't be disturbed. "Ellie...There's rumors of a war brewing in the vampire city," she said solemnly. "Against the Japanese Imperial Demon Army..." She said, "We can get the others and leave. We can get away from the war before it devastates everyone."

She hadn't had a good shower in a couple months. She'd never thought she would be in a group with others, so she didn't think she'd need one.

Aya seemed taken aback. She said sadly. "You think I planned all that?" There were tears in her eyes. "No, Ellie. I planned nothing except our escape. Ferid must have tasted my intentions in my blood and thought he could stop all of us, keep us there like cattle." Her fists clenched so hard blood began to drip from her palms.

"Believe me, if I could have, I would have made it so all of us could be alive and well...all of us happy. But my stupidity got most of us killed. And now...Now no one is happy." The tears were falling in streams now as she tried not to sob. She gathered herself for a moment, her expression tortured as she looked away from her best friend. She composed herself despite the tears still falling.

"Not a day goes by that I haven't thought about that night. What I could have done differently to make sure all of us escaped. To make sure all of us were happy."

Guren shook his head. "No. Some of your wounds are deep and had to be stitched. You're not going anywhere until I say so." He crossed his arms, his expression firm.

Aya sighed. "Ellie...It really is me. I don't expect you to believe me. And I'm the one who told you to run, you nut." She smiled like she used to. She approached Ellie and poked her on the forehead like she used to. Then she hugged her tightly. "You've grown to be so beautiful, I'm glad I told you to run." She held her at arm's length with a wide smile. She heard a noise inside and her attention snapped over to the barracks. "No one will come out will they?" she whispered.

Aya felt tears in her eyes, her heart broken. She bit her lip so hard the smell of her own blood hit her nose. She had drunk the blood of the Queen so she wasn't feeling thirsty for blood anymore for now, so it wasn't taunting her for now. She couldn't take this anymore. "Pssst!" she hissed from where she was hiding. "Ellie?" She whispered. Aya was still recognizable thankfully, though her voice had matured and gotten a little lower from when they were kids. She peeked out, her eyes catching the light in the darkness, making them almost catlike.

Aya had gotten a mission to scout for the upcoming war the Queen told her about. She had the ability of stealth which made her qualified. She bowed and left the City, finding a small barracks. She heard talking going on in there and she hid as someone came out. She froze as she recognized Eleanor. She hid silently, listening to her talk. She thanked whatever god or goddess was listening that especially her best friend was alive and well. She bit her lip so hard that blood trickled down her chin. She wanted to go and comfort Ellie and say to her that no, she wasn't idiotic. But she resisted. She closed her eyes and bowed her head. She inhaled quietly. She peeked out again.
