It's been retconned like 12 times but the official timeline has never been right, other than the first one which only had 4 games.
They're incorrect because the universes aren't meant to fit together.
I think breath of the wild might confirm my entire timeline theory.
I think Zelda's entire timeline is retconned and doesn't actually exist.
