@Leoven
Jaica Borré:
Furtive Assimilation
» C A P A B I L I T I E S
Furtive Assimilation allows its user to instantly assimilate into any society or social group, including subconsciously removing the abilities of others around them to identify the user as a stranger or alien to the social group. With this ability, Jaica easily inserts herself into any group to gather intelligence or internally sabotage her target group.

» D R A W B A C K S
Jaica's abilities will not affect the sensory abilities of mechanical constructs such as robotics and DNA-based locks.

Reading over the ability, I think it needs rewording 'or' you really could take the easy route out and copy the Power Listing explanation.
The user can instantly assimilate into any society or social group, subconsciously nullifying the ability/need of others to recognize user as nothing else than part of the group/social structure they place themselves. They could walk into a restaurant and immediately assume a position of waiter, or go into a crime organization and assume a the role of domestic servant.

It really comes down to this line "including subconsciously removing the abilities of others around them to identify the user as a stranger or alien to the social group" which is really repeating the already described explanation of exactly what the Lunos ability is capable of.

This then links a bit into the drawbacks where you mention DNA based locks. Furtive Assimilation is a form of social cloaking, it doesn't affect the user's DNA. Therefore it's already assumed that her DNA will not change. What you could use is some of the drawbacks from an ability such as Shapeshifting.

- May revert back to original form when unconscious or asleep.
- May be limited on how long transformation can last
- Staying extended periods in single form may start affecting the users behavior or even make them forget their true self
- May retain characteristics of their original form in their new shape (i.e., color scheme, birthmarks, scars, etc.).

Talcri Borré: When I initially set up the roleplay I actually avoided the topic of cybernetics because I felt that it can be an overused theme in which people can latch onto. Hence, I created the Medical Pods which can be used to basically grow back limbs and body parts based on the DNA genome... Or in simple words, going back to the instruction manual and rebuilding.
[YT Vid of how a Medical Pod somewhat works]

(Plus there's the point where if someone created Robocop with the abilities of the Avatar... It might be a little too OP )

So for your character I'm happy to have the cybernetic arm as it does create diversity and was probably cheaper than growing back a limb, but I'm inclined to state that since the Lunos incident her Genome was locked with the contaminant meaning that if she was to enter into a Medical Pod her arm won't grow back.

Not much, but if you make those adjustments to Jaica and let me know what you've done, then I can accept the two of them.

@Kyrisse
Yazmin: Unfortunately there is going to be a fair bit that I need to discuss, both in the back story and the ability. I'll start off with the ability.

Energy and Lunos Absorption
» C A P A B I L I T I E S
Yaz has the ability to absorb energy and lunos by skin to skin contact. She is able to copy any skill or lunos that a person has for a short span of time.

» D R A W B A C K S
Touching a person drains them of their energy and they are temporarily rendered weak. Skin to skin contact also gives Yaz a fragment of the person's memories. The longer she touches a person, the more she siphons off their energy and the more she sees into their past. Afraid that she might end up killing someone, she rarely uses the power and keeps every inch of her skin covered (with the the exception of her face, of course). Curiously, people touching her does not seem to have the same effect as when she touches them.

This ability doesn't have a set theme and some of the drawbacks are actually advantages. Touching a person to render them weak, and able to see into their memories is a positive effect, not a drawback. I also don't see the connection with ability copying to telepathy which leaves me to wonder if you're casting a wide net for an ability you're not sure of.

I do have concerns about the ability itself, as well as this line: "Curiously, people touching her does not seem to have the same effect as when she touches them."

The ability relies on you understanding what every Lunos is capable of and how each player interprets their own creation, then applying that knowledge to your own character (ie: a risk of metagaming). Making an error in replicating that same idea in your own character could spell spell confusion when your character starts throwing fireballs when the original ability was only able to manipulate fire. On a side note, touch is touch and you state that she wears gloves because of her Lunos, it gives the impression that whatever makes contact with her skin will instantly be absorbed. As I said, not all Lunos abilities are positive so I would hate to see what happens when she was to make accidental contact with someone that can go nuclear when she doesn't understand, or possibly know, what the new ability consists of.

As mentioned, there is the backstory that is of some concern. The planet was destroyed by a comet the size of let's say half of Australia; a big bugger of a thing. For Yazmin's family to be killed by the incoming impact, she would no have had enough time to escape to the Noah II seeing as it would have been out of orbit and leaving the planet behind. Her mother, also being gravely ill, would have been placed in a Medical Pod. The only reason why she would be dying is because of natural old age or the inability to reach a Medical Pod, which seems unlikely seeing as her brother was in the Air Force.

If possible it might be best to ease up on the assorted death and dying stories, leaving her sadness to be that simply of how she left her family behind.

There is also the detail of her wanting to transport people down from the spacecraft. The ship launches it's occupants in a drop-pod to the surface. As of current there is no craft that can leave the atmosphere back up to the Noah as there really is no reason to have one yet.
@BrokenPromise Just read over your response to Lenna/Holla and the adjustments you made to Keefer.
Characters is are Accepted.
(Can you do us a favour when you post it and post each character in a different post? Thanks)

Know it's not much in the way of adjustments but sometimes a single word can throw in a spanner. Just making sure that everyone is balanced out and clear on the basics of how their abilities work. Of course, we will discuss events as they come to clarify details, but you never know. xD

Will be reading the new applications in a moment.
Roleplay is still open to applicants!
@BrokenPromise
Keefer: The only questions I have about this character is how the Lunos actually works.
» C A P A B I L I T I E S
When active, Dead cell suppresses the activation of Lunos abilities within a ten foot radius. That's a twenty foot diameter sphere FYI.

» D R A W B A C K S
It's EVERYONE'S Lunos but his own! Keefer cannot select just one person and turn off their Lunos. This also doesn't stop people from standing outside dead cell's radius and making a Lunos created power enter the dead cell.

Dead Cell suppresses the activation within the area, but what if a Lunos was already active while in the zone? If it does suppress an active Lunos then maybe the word nullify might be a better option. A little more clarity on how it works would be advisable so people can understand any consequences for if they interact with your character.

The drawbacks might need some expansion as well. People can enter the Dead Cell with an active Lunos, but it doesn't tell us the consequences of entering, ie: does the ability deactivate or is it still active? There is also the limitation of use. While I don't like time based abilities, as time in a roleplay is indefinable, how long does this ability last for with opposing players and is there anything preventing the character from spamming the ability?

Lenna/Holla: To be honest this character confused me a little bit until I reached towards the end of the character sheet, but I'm still scratching my head a little bit. I'm assuming that they are the same person with two different personas? It's just a little vague on some of these details to help grasp the image on who the character is as a whole. Remember, this is OOC information so if you need explain something here and state that it's not IC knowledge, then other players should take that into consideration when interacting with the character.

The Imposter ability does raise a question, not to do with the ability, but how it will be played. What sort of indication will you be using so that players don't interact to your character and refer to her by the wrong name? If you're using a header title of some kind for when they swap over between identities then that should be fine. I just need some comfort in knowing how you would like to play her out.

Overall... It's not much, just a bit of expanded info in some areas. Pictures were curious at first but I understand the reasoning behind them with one being a different passenger and the other being unknown with multiple identities. Did you have any plans of eventually showing off their face claims? (Just a curious thought, not related to the critique)

@Mr Donny Your character seems quite fine. I might get you to change the age to words so that it spreads out a bit more under your long character name. Also...
Colour me interested, just a quick question: does the character have to come with a picture? I prefer to just go with descriptions, but if the GM wants it, I can scrounge the net for a picture.

A picture is preferred of some kind... but... it doesn't have to be a character image. Similar to this. You already have a fairly fleshed out description of what they like to wear and their visuals so I'm happy with that.

Aside from those things which aren't really deal breakers, the character is accepted!
Post it up in the Character Tab when you get a chance. Also, check out the Discord link.
I can't decide if I'm playing a girl or a guy.

@NuttsnBolts are there any sentient beings living in awilix?

As in androids? No.
The most you will get is a artificial dog with an animal instinct program or a security bot with a protect and serve program, but these beings cannot think on their own, make decisions, or communicate beyond giving pre selected commands.

Edit: or do you mean aliens?

Ehhhh......... There's possibly ancient artifacts somewhere. At this point in time the answer is no to other, higher thinking lifeforms.

I mostly wanna set up the current world and make sure things are going smoothly before we expand into other territories, if it goes that route. That will vary depending on the eventual outcomes.

The tavern is cold and lonely as you enter through the doorway; a place void of any souls except the lone individual sitting at the counter. Feeling brave you decide to grab a seat next to them before rapping at the counter with your bare knuckles, calling out for the bar tender to appear from his hidey hole so you can sip on a well deserved drink. The one next to you coughs at your foolhardy efforts, informing you that it is impossible to wake the dead.

You turn to the cloaked figure noticing the heavy fabric that covers his entire body, spatters of blood smeared across the cuffs; it is an outfit that resonates of a person with something to hide. You question their trivial, tenebrous words only to receive naught in return. Frustrated and furious you grab the shoulder, clenching it hard within your grasps.

The fabrics fall limply within your hands, collapsing chaotically on the floor. Your eyes widen to a vacant stare, unsure of what you witnessed just as you feel a icy touch grab the side of your skull. With a loud crack your head pounds the bench, forcing you to drop to the ground. As you lay there dazed and confused an invisible force clamps around your throat, choking the air from your body. You struggle, clawing at the dominating force, desperately fighting for your life.

"Your impuissant struggle is fruitless compared to the death that I can see in your future"

With the last ounce of strength you muster up the words of a name you have been hearing recently, a person who should be avoided at all costs. "Eidolon?"

Their minacious laugh is more than enough confirmation; a cynical roar at how your last words were of its very own name.

A P P E A R A N C E
The only known visible trait that has been confirmed is the heavy black cloak that appears throughout the city. People have tried to peer into it's shell but the darkness has prevented them from seeing what is truly inside.

B A C K G R O U N D / H I S T O R Y
Little is known of Eidolon considering the name does not appear on any of the public databases from the Noah II, leaving people to wonder what sort of information is hidden deep within the archives. There is conjecture based on the recalled knowledge, a possible yet terrifying hypothesis.

It is speculation that Eidolon was a stowaway on the Noah II, a psychopathic serial killer who bought their way on board and used a false identity to obtain a cryogenic pod. When the powers of Lunos came to the humans, they manifested a unique double combination thanks to a genetic disorder known as Chimera's disease. Eidolon's very last trick was discovered when The City of Landing touched down on Awilix. Upon landing in the city there was no soul found within the allocated pod. The occupant had simply vanished.

To this very day no one knows who Eidolon is except that their bloody marking are have been appearing around the city.

Clairvoyance & Reality Distortion
(A rare combination due to an underlying medical condition)

» C A P A B I L I T I E S
Eidolon's primary Lunos is Clairvoyance, an ability to see visions into their past, present and future. Their secondary Lunos is known as Reality Distortion, an ability that allows them to distort the very fabrics of space and time around their body. While it is unclear as to the extent of this abilities it is known that they have the ability to mask their appearance and create mirages that can look and feel real to the human senses.

» D R A W B A C K S
Since Eidolon was able to avoid the required screening process during the investigation it is not clear as to what side effects the individual may suffer. Reports have been heard of harrowing screams throughout the night, along with random disturbances in the surrounding environment. Flickering lights, music from inaudible sources and even broken glass suddenly reforming into solid panels are among the few oddities that have been noted.

Cerridwen is considered to be quite a smart individual, but due to the creation of her artificial body that title has since been upgraded to that of mad scientist. She can at times be cold, dominating, and even sadistic; a woman who is not afraid to push the rules and boundaries in applied science and her own survival. With this said her egotistical nature doesn't fully consume her every living breath. She does have a softer side that she tries to hide away, leaving people to wonder why she in fact entered into medical science.

A P P E A R A N C E
The metallic, sea green body that Cerridwen uses is a construct of various alloys and synthetics making it both light weight and resilient to many of the natural elements. Her eyes glow a pale blue when she's active, and turn off when she's in sleep mode; even a robot needs to sleep. The body houses a variety of gadgets and tools that allow her to perform maintenance on equipment around her and the robot itself.

Cerridwen's actual appearance is quite sinister in comparison to her mechanical side. The woman has fair skin with long flowing, charcoal hair which frames a face that is pleasing to look at but intimidating at best. Her scowl is bordered by red lipstick most of the time and helps to trim the expensive choice of clothes that she prefers to wear.

B A C K G R O U N D / H I S T O R Y
Cerridwen knew from the moment she stepped onto the Noah II that her drop date onto Awilix would be a minimum of 2 years after the initial landing, a time frame that she believe she didn't deserve considering she was one of the engineering scientist who helped develop the Medical Bay and Cryogenic technology. Luck however did come to her in the form of her developed Lunos ability, a skill that allowed her to control a plethora of electronic devices at will.

During the 5 year voyage Cerridwen was able to partially break out of her induced coma, a process that allowed her to transfer her conscious the Noah II itself. Eventually through brute force and perseveration she was able to muster a selection of manufacturing machines in the Assembly Center and begin to construct a new form for her mind to enter and control.

One week after the Landing on Awilix a surprise drop pod was launched from the Noah, a pod that crashed into the nearest available landing zone. The workers around the site were confused and concerned at first considering that Noah hadn't informed them of such a delivery, however upon opening the container they soon discovered Cerridwen in her new, metallic body.

Currently she is working at one of the engineering firms, a division that specialises in the maintenance and operation of the machinery used to clear out the forest. It's a step down from her previous occupation but Cerridwen knows that once she is finally released Landing will soon come to know of her name.

Technopathy
» C A P A B I L I T I E S
A Lunos user with Technopathy is able to transfer their conscious into any electronic device with an inbuilt computer system. From there they are able to control the device to their own will, giving off the impression that the machine has a mind of it's own. They are able to do this by hopping from device to device, using any radio signals as a pathway to their end goal. Due to the distance from the Noah II to her robotic self Cerridwen has deployed a series of micro-satellites in order to keep a continual uplink to her original body.

» D R A W B A C K S
Technopathy has some heavy conditions of use making it quite a taxing ability. Whenever the user places their conscious into a device their original body will become limp as it enters into a paralytic state. Any pain inflicted to the body will be felt by the conscious self and if the user's human body was to cease living then the conscious would immediately disappear from existence. Technopathy users are also susceptible to performance interference from radio jammers, voltage fluctuations, EMPs and magnetism.

Jackson (also known as JJ) is a fairly easy going and independent individual, a man who doesn't like to plan too far into the future as he believes that it's always interesting when the unexpected happens. Generally he is pretty accommodating of newer people, often brushing off his calm and collected appeal onto others by accident. For the majority of his life he has been a smoker and a drinker, a habit that started off in his younger years and stuck with him even after landing on Awilix.

A P P E A R A N C E
With a messy mop of dreadlocks and a scruffy unshaven look, Jackson does give off a vibe of someone who is both a little rough around the edges and in touch with his inner self. His clothes typically match this rugged style with JJ choosing an assortment of singlet shirts and old pants over the much regarded tidier, collared looks that the more lavish aspire to wear. Upon his right arm are a series of intricate tribal tattoos that appear to match with his preference in jewellery.

B A C K G R O U N D / H I S T O R Y
Jackson was your typical delinquent child, a boy who rebelled against all the rules that society had laid out and instead chose to hang around with the wrong crowd of people. Unfortunately his foolish actions ended up catching up to him and from the age of sixteen through to eighteen he spent much of his time in a juvenile detention centre. Upon reaching the age of eighteen he was released and discovered that trying to fend for himself in the real world was quite difficult without a proper education. As a result Jackson ended up working as a sub-contractor to several businesses, learning how to use his hand skills more so than his own intelligence.

As time went on he managed to secure a position aboard the Noah II with the high hopes of surviving the calamity as well as a chance of a new future. What he never expected was that his new role on Awilix would almost mimic that to which he was performing back on earth, leaving the man to feel that it was pointless to fight for a better future and instead enjoy the life that he has.

Due to his younger years Jackson has managed to secure a few connections within the black market districts. He isn't valued customer by any stretch but has enough knowledge to know what's the latest gossip is.

Gravitational Manipulation
» C A P A B I L I T I E S
Gravitational Manipulation is the ability to control the forces around the user in a way that breaks the natural laws of physics. Thanks to these abilities Jackson can now walk up walls, levitate for a short period of time, and ground his stance in a way that makes it difficult for other applied forces to move him. Currently Jackson is only able to alter the gravitational effect applied to his own body but he has noticed on several occasions how some of the smaller items that he touches seem to move in mysterious ways. Often these random effects are short lived and minor but his own curiosity has allowed him to wonder how they will eventually grow and mature.

» D R A W B A C K S
