Bio

You JUST scrolled down!

Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another random themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

My top RP's on the Guild:

Young Justice 2020
Justice League Unlimited
Titans of Gotham
Champions of Engine City
Marvel Reborn
Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]

Top Characters:

Ditto - Young Justice series
Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited
Leviathan - Titans of Gotham
Fastlane - Champions of Engine City
the Thing II - Marvel Reborn
Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!

Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.

Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.

OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, the Rocketeer, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.

I'm working in a titanpad on the OOC opening post. It'll be some of the details from the OP of this thread, the accepted players/characters list, GM Notes, etc. Once the OOC's everyone accepted needs to repost their CS's in the Character tab so we can get the IC going in the next couple days.

Here's the titanpad if anybody wants to stop by...

"What are you here for?" a young woman on the rooftop asked the stunned hero.

"From one super person to another, don't we both know roof jumping is part of wearing the costumes?"Gemini asked waiting for a response.

"Please don't be some friend of this Shadow Walker guy..." Alex thought to himself walking slower towards his next point in jumping or falling to another building, "I don't wanna have to take down a handful of people just to bring in a kid who had a bad day." he continued thinking to himself finally coming to his next point.

She didn't answer in time. It only took a few seconds to get across the rooftop. She didn't look particularly evil, she wore a lot of black but so did Gemini. He smiled and leaped forward down to a slightly smaller rooftop where he landed with a roll. If the Shadow Walker was out there, Alex had to find out where. He had no idea how to fight a man who could teleport through shadows.

As he ran across another building he looked back to see if the girl gave chase.

"Wonder if she had any powers at all or is just one of the more vigilante powerless types?" he thought again.

Finished my new guy...

Legacy: the Torch of Liberty

WWII Predecessor: Paul Gibney

Name: Alan Pierce

Alias: the Torch, Torch of Liberty II

Relationship to Predecessor: None. Alan saw a picture of the WWII hero and patterned a similar updated suit. However, in this retrofitted universe, the original Torch of Liberty will likely take the Capt. America type role when it comes to this world.

Age:27

Powers/Skills/Equipment:

* Fire Generation/Manipulation - Alan can currently create fire from his hands and shoot it
like a flame thrower or shoot compacted bursts of flame hadoken style. This will likely
develop further but nothing too crazy or OP.

* Fire Resistance - Heat and fire don't bother Alan at all. His body is almost one with the
fire around him.

Weaknesses:

* Basic weaknesses of a standard human in light body armor.
* Water and other substances can hinder the 'Torch's abilities for varied times.

Appearance:

Predecessor's History:

After his military unit was captured and tortured by Nazi's while in France, Paul managed to free himself and several other POW's to fight off their captors. Paul was the last man standing and held his dying brother in arms who exclaimed he had a fire in his eyes when he was fighting. 'Paul' died that day and he assumed the identity of the Torch of Liberty and helped turn the tides of war. He fought several key players in the Axis Powers, and continued to free POWs through the end of the war.

In December of 1944, the Torch along with the US Army went into the English Midlands to foil a Nazi experiment to create the perfect super soldier. Project Uber Man was shut down, but after the Torch threw Agent Schmidt into a rip in space time. These events will eventually deal with the coming of Master Man.

Nobody knows what happened to this old man [Gibney] who'd be in his 90's in the context of the game. It's assumed he just got old and died.

BRIEF Bio:

Alan was your average guy. Never did much in life. Flunked out of college with a dual major in journalism and theater. He kept in reasonably good shape and once upon a time he was one of the top Boy Scouts in his hometown of Ashwood, TN. He recently developed superhuman powers, able to do things with fire.

The invasion of D.C. came seemingly from nowhere. Within minutes the Axis army of Master Man teleported into the region, while other Nazi superhumans deactivated the nation's nuclear weapons. The armies marched on DC for days killing all those who would stand against them, and Master Man himself executed the President on live television ripping the woman in half.

The military and National Guard have tried for weeks to make a way back into the capital and gain ground but their efforts have all amounted to nothing. If the human armies of the Axis/Nazi superhumans falter one of the superhuman generals steps in.

Alan knew he couldn't sit on the sidelines. He read stories about the heroes during WWII and anything he might use against the super Nazi invaders. Alan took inspiration from the Torch of Liberty when making his own suit and headed for the capital city.

Additional Notes:

Alan's had powers for maybe three weeks tops. However being in the shape he's in and being in the Scouts in his younger years helped him successfully save several POWs just like the man he drew inspiration from. Now it's time to take on some of the super Axis/Nazi generals and take the fight to Master Man.

Yeah I think I'm gonna like this dude. Everybody ready to get an OOC going before the weekend's end at least? LOL

~KL~
Work, race weekend traffic, etc. has kept me from writing. And until about an hour ago something was up with my wi-fi probably due to the storms that always seem to roll around during race time. I'll get something worked up soon though! BTW, would you want me to make a microhero for your character? They usually don't take too long and even if my internet is down for the storms I can work on them...

~KL~
@bluetommy2 I should've been more clear in the opening post when I said Green Lantern is off the table, cause honestly with the game being tied to WWII I was only thinking about the classic Alan Scott interpretation and nothing dealing with the Corps, aliens, etc. If this was just a straight up DCU RP, I'd want something like this in there. However something this cosmic doesn't really jibe with what I'm planning to do in the RP with the villains and the Nazi superman Master Man.

~KL~
<<< I've got a look for my successor to the Torch of Liberty at least. Probably just shorten it to 'Torch' though.

Anybody else still want in on this while there's time to get in before an OOC/IC gets started?

~KL~
So, recently a discord channel was set up for the Create-A-Hero RPG. Would that be something you all would be interested in?

I have no idea what that is. Maybe I'm just getting old... LOL

~KL~
I've been keeping an eye on the thread but haven't been online as much this last week because the race is in town in my area and my hours have been nuts at work. I think I may drop a character or two as well so that I can focus on developing one rather than split my time in the RP three ways, and I'll likely keep Archangel just because he's already met Tony Stark, got a new weapon, etc.

I'll try and start an Archangel post tonight when I get in from the evening.

~KL~

I'll finish what I had typed up when I get in from the plasma clinic in a couple more hours. Gotta go make some easy $ for the weekend LOL

~KL~
The idea of a good Mysterio sounds cool, I can't stand Wolverine or his affiliates though aside from Sabretooth.

As for my new guy, I'm really digging the Torch of Liberty with the idea his successor actually has powers [however limited] like fire generation/manipulation from his hands. Nothing's for certain right now.

I also apologize the OOC/IC is taking a bit longer to finish. It's race week in my area and I'm working mandatory OT through Sunday. Then the biggest football game ever will be played in the speedway with something like 180,000 people in the area [3-5X the traffic we deal with during races] and that's coming up the 10th of September...

Saturday night I hope to not be as tired so I can get some writing done.
