Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another random themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!
Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.
Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.
OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, the Rocketeer, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.
@Dedonus I just thought about bringing my solo'ed Human Torch back into the game like I did in season 1, but I don't think I should have to be tied down to just F4 themed stuff. I'm willing to drop the unused tv pilot origin and go with the whole cosmic rays and getting powers with a few other people. I don't wanna intrude if somebody's got plans for an entire team of characters though.
In the first RP I had Human Torch originally and went solo with the intention of being an Avenger similar to the current comics. When Drew wanted to do the F4 I gave up my take so he could do his thing with the other two players because they had the majority of the four and another poster wanted Johnny Storm. I just wanna get back on the path to making him an Avenger.
He assumed I didn't like them when I've made it pretty clear in the past what... 3 or 4 attempts Drew and I have planned out an F4 RP I'm a bit of a fan. He literally called me a hypocrite, even though I never said "you can't take that character away from that team!"
You can call it throwing shade, I'm just giving my opinion. Only difference is I'm not pretending it's a fact.
EDIT: If you don't want opinions don't ask for them. If you want something sugarcoated go eat a donut.
You think I don't like them? Seriously? Guys I've got over two hundred F4 comics from various runs dating back to the 80's. I love the team and each member for different reasons but I enjoyed them more when they got more development as individuals. Same thing for the X-Men. I don't see how my opinion is wrong or hypocritical. I don't need a team to fall back on to tell stories about a billionaire mutant or a guy who could burn down a city with a thought.
And the whole point of this RP is to put your own spin on cannon characters, is it not anymore? I think making Moon Knight anything other than somebody with a mental disorder is a bad move, but I'm not gonna go on about why I think it's wrong to make him anything besides that. I think making every super smart hero in Marvel a teenager is a bad move and I could easily give Drew shit over that, but again this game was always about making the characters your own. I personally didn't care for Hulkling and Gambit being agents of SHIELD, but again... That's just how players made the characters their own.
Quit being so damn critical and assuming I hate this or that.
Three of them are related, so they'll always be tied together. One shouldn't ONLY be defined by their family though. Or limited to only being on the one team.
X-Men go solo all the time, making the four split up is about the only thing they haven't done in the comics till now and that's just cause half of them are dead or in limbo. The Invisible Woman working for SHIELD was an incredible idea that was wasted when she was written off with Reed. The Thing in the GotG was a nice change. And it was about time the actual human Torch joined the Avengers and not just the machine again. I just think there's more potential when you split them up and move some characters around. If you've read one or two F4 stories there's a good chance you know how every other story played out afterwards.
The only thing the F4 really did was introduce other characters like the Inhumans, the Skrulls, the Kree, Black Panther, etc. Aside from the Hickman run before the FF title the comics had been dropping in sales and the team didn't seem to matter in the grande scheme that is Marvel. To me it seemed like fans stopped caring around the same time Marvel did.
@DrewVonAwesome I'd go back to the Human Torch but I'd really wanna make him go solo or join the Avengers. Surely four people can share an origin and NOT be tied to the one group exclusively. I'd also insist on dropping his 4 suit and going with the modern look...
