I've never really been a comic book girl. Like manga and anime it remains a mystery to me.
Historically speaking, it wasn't as if minorities had the same opportunities as whites did in America considering the gap in education and segregation back when minorities weren't even people. Is it better now? Yes. Undeniably so. But the playing field isn't exactly even all the same. Privilege exists but it's not a catch-all excuse and recognizing that yes, some people do in fact have it easier isn't the end of the world as much as some people like to think it is.
Also there is a second order effect over a large number of decision points.
I do not believe white men have some magical special qualities others do not get - if they do, please refer me to them so I can claim what apparently rightfully belongs to me.
The magical power of historical inertia perhaps. And its ok, people can fail to capitalize on their privilege just as some of us succeed in spite of it.
And I think changing your mind is fairly impossible, so that is that.
Changing someones mind is a long and gradual process even it it is possible. That being said information introduced can never truly be excised.
Do you sincerely think, that in america, minorites are afforded all of the same treatment and opportunities with the same ease as white men?

Your caring or not caring does not change the fact that immigrants, people of color and women all face additional hoops which white males typically do not have to deal with.
That is privilege.

I love how suggesting that one group has an advantage suddenly becomes reverse discrimination. Your inability to even entertain the notion that other groups labor under different and additional burdens makes my point.
You are a woman? Prove that your gender doesn't determine you, your caliber of person as an individual does. An immigrant? Show that you are as American as anyone who was born here, if not more than through your hard work, dedication and loyalty.
