@Lord Wraith Density shifting is an option but I think I want Hollie to play the part of "elegant, thinks she is better than you, senior." But I like to fill in roles, too.

So I've been considering Hollie's power for some time and I don't exactly like Density manipulation. It is not "eye-catching" enough. So how does this sound as a replacement?

Hollie can spontaneously shapeshift into a translucent crystal form. While crystallized, she is resistant to physical damage, packs a harder punch, and can absorb energy to supercharge her form.

Energy Absorption
While in her crystal form, and only in her crystal form, her touch can draw energy from various sources. Electricity provides the greatest amount of energy but absorbing energy from another being can yield energy. This gives Hollie a sort of Vampiric touch and allows her to drain energy from her opponents at relatively a slow rate. Another method of energy absorption can come from a sort of energy "rebate" when Hollie receives kinetic strikes (punches, bullets, etc.) to more Meta energies (beams, blasts, etc.). Even though she may benefit from being on the receiving end of an attack, her crystal form cannot take a lot of abuse and may crack and break causing real injury to Hollie's actual form.
Supercharging
A surplus of energy stored can be used in various offensive or defensive strategies. Hollie can use built up energy to rapidly grow pillars of her crystal material in an attempt to impale or block an attacker, project an energy beam, and as a final resort, explode out from her crystal form using up all energy she had in stored. Some synergistic strategies can be thought of by using a combination of her powers. Any crystal pillar will also be energy absorbent and by blasting the pillar with energy it can reach a break point and explode.
Weaknesses
Outside of her crystal form, Hollie is vulnerable. It takes her awhile to build up enough energy to use her extra abilities, before that she is just armored. Her crystal form can be damaged and eventually destroyed. Her crystal form can be pushed to a volatile point by rapidly adding too much energy, causing Hollie to explode.

Collie sat quietly and studied the CO while he stumbled through what was bothering him. There was improvement but not much as the man still stuttered. It provided some evidence that it might be psychological but at this point, Collie couldn't be sure. Sadly, she was never able to study medicine in its fullest degree. The military saw to that. They only taught her on how to treat physical wounds and the rest were shoved aside as a 'non-priority', but Collie never liked that outlook. All conditions could be serious and Mika was a prime example of how impactful those other conditions could be.

"You improved!" Collie said after the man said his piece, trying to sound encouraging. "But you can do better!" She leaned back and thought about what else she could do to help outside of just sounding supportive, but she couldn't think of anything useful. There wasn't any other medication on hand that she could give him outside of some sedatives, but putting the CO to sleep might not be the best answer. An idea Collie had been tossing around was giving the man Cannabis, seeing as it had a calming effect, but the military would never allow that to be on the supply request. So Collie was stuck with just trying general therapy, which wasn't having as much of an effect as she wanted, but at least there was some noticeable improvement.

Collie thought about telling Mika the truth about how she was running out of ideas and that her options were really limited, but she didn't have the heart and it was probably best not to mention it. That was when 2nd LT Slade made an appearance. Collie turned and watched the woman give the two of them a briefing on things. Not good. Things could not have come at a worse time, she turned and eyed Mika, seeing how he would react to the news before quietly departing from the storeroom to make her own preparations.

Later, news came around that the crashed allied dropship had a survivor inbound. Collie made way straight to the CO and 2nd LT when the news reached her. She had an obligation to see to any injuries in that dropship. Seeing as she was already dressed in her EHCS (excluding the helmet presently), there was no reason why she shouldn't accompany the LT to see to the survivor. She forewent any formalities and got straight to the point. "I recommend I go as the lieutenant's second." She didn't elaborate the reason why she wanted to go but she hoped the two of them would understand. Usually sending someone out on their own isn't recommended anyway.

Ever since her birth she had always been destined for stardom, her mother would make sure of that. Obviously there was a reason for that. Hollie's mother was, to quote Hollie: "an old-washed up Hollywood star from the previous century". That woman thought being a star was everything and she might have meant well, but that woman forced Hollie through all the hoops involved in becoming a childhood star. Harshly controlled diets, regular acting lessons that took precedence over actual, and so on. Needless to say, it wasn't the kindest up bringing. Her father wasn't really around anymore for an unknown reason at the time. Hollie would later discover that her mother filed for divorce and managed to keep Hollie, but that was kept hush-hush for the longest time.

Anyway, Hollie eventually did become a childhood star, featured in many different TV shows and a few movies. Hollie's mother could not be more delighted but Hollie, she didn't really like it, but God forbid if she decided to quit. The "two of the were too far to quit", according to Hollie's mother. So with reluctance, Hollie continued her acting career well into her mid-teens. She was actually very promising in her trade and many predicted her to "become the next best thing". Well it was around this time that she started noticing her body behavior oddly. No, not puberty, but rather her touch was either "too strong" or "too weak" when trying to do different things. She kept quiet about it but eventually her oddity manifested in her crashing through the set with a jump. That's when Hollie first discovered her label. Mutant.

Well as it turns out, Hollywood doesn't like Mutants all that much, so she was blacklisted. Nobody wanted a Mutant in their movie, so that was that. Unfortunately, Hollie did not know how to anything other than act at this point, thanks to Mother. Speaking of which, Hollie's mother kind of ended up disowning her daughter because of that. It wasn't so much the mutant thing, it was more due to not being able to be the shining star that she wanted. That's when Hollie's father came back. He had heard the news and came to rescue his daughter. Surprisingly, Hollie's mother put up little fight. Hollie's wasn't intolerant of his daughter's kind but he didn't know how to deal with it. So he sent her to Xavier, because who else do you send your mutant kid to? Hollie has been there for five years now.
