@Pikmin Eye Because I'm somewhat busy with normal life, I've mostly taken to only reading the Dewmeadow posts and posting to acknowledge that, meaning that I've been skipping those posts too. But, since you've said this, I've taken it onto myself to read those posts and tell my impression. So, why do we have three different villain-teams? Well, suppose that's entirely alright, we have three different player-teams! XD

@Zardoric The Team Legacy members seem normal enough. Because I really don't know anything about them and don't know what drives them or anything, I do find these guys to be quite mysterious but so far not extremely interesting. ... Like the case is usually for the Pokémon Teams in the Pokémon games, so guess you nailed it! XD ... But yeah. They're there. I can look forward to eventually interacting with them, as soon as I get a better Pokémon Team. I need to get six Pokémon, fast. Haha.

@SleepingSilence The Outsiders, unlike Team Legacy, I do kind of feel like I know now after reading their posts (and the fact I can see their CSes help). Therefore, I can say I am quite amused by their posts. In fact, their little dynamics and quirks are nothing short of humorous. I quite like them. ... Still, the fact she apparently already has an Arcanine scares me. Means to me that I probably shouldn't encounter them anytime soon, need to get better first. Hahaha...

@Pikmin Eye And then there's you. Yeah, you. You left an impression. Did I say I needed to get better to face the others? Well, I don't want to face you at all out of sheer apprehensive fear, no matter how good I get. Your first post mildly traumatized my impression of what aura this roleplay was supposed to have because "I THOUGHT WE WERE KEEPING, LIKE, CHILD-FRIENDLY POKÉMON AURA" and quickly got really scared. Man, you're ominous, and I think I can approve of you being ominous. Hopefully, I don't need to encounter you until I'm, like, Champion level. Because Rowan's... not ready for you. Neither Pokémon-wise or emotion-wise. Yikes. Haha.

Yeah, that's about that.
@Whimsley Teh-heh.
Because my random idea required me to post as soon as possible... I posted.
Rowan Branchers

_____

Dewmeadow, Outside Dogwood's Lab

Rowan barely believed his eyes when he turned back. Purrloin was making short work of the distance between herself and the target, and successfully landed the finishing blow on the enemy. Rowan couldn't resist clutching his fist and fist-bumping in the air.

'Yeah! Great job, Purrloin!' He encouraged, to which the somewhat dirtied Purrloin merely snorted in satisfied disgust with the string shot on her which she really didn't like. She sat there as a majestic winner, too annoyed to do anything else at the moment, giving Wiggler a look of ”know your place”. … Still, to Rowan, there was a slight feeling of that the victory wasn't all that much to be happy about, it was just a Caterpie, after all. Purrloin was a grade above that...

'Purrloin! The battle isn't over!' Rowan called, turning and pointing at the Mareep. 'Yasha and Mara is taking care of the Oddish, we'll-' Rowan froze mid-motion, pointing dramatically at Fluffy the Mareep. Thing was, Purrloin was not looking in the direction Rowan was pointing.

'Purrloin?' He dared ask. … Purrloin was staring straight at the Oddish, taking deep breaths of the Sweet Scent. … It occurred to Rowan that he might just have discovered the ACTUAL use of Sweet Scent in battle.

Purrloin was distracted!

'... Purr!' While Purrloin preferred spicy things to sweet, she couldn't deny the alluring attraction of that sweet scent. She wanted it. The cat-Pokémon sprang off, semi-running towards the source of the scent, completely intending on picking it up with her teeth and running off. She wanted the source of the sweet scent, after all. That just happened to be the Oddish. But, not too quickly. She wanted to grab it in the span of time between the other two Pokémon defeating it and the trainer actually retrieving the Pokémon...

'P-PURRLOIN!?' Rowan asked loudly, and in stunned shock as his Pokémon ran off in an unintended direction with sub-optimal speed for actually being of help...

@mdk I'll partly be looking forward to it. XD

[@normal post directed at nobody] So. I'm mildly proud of my entry. It's not necessarily a master-piece, but I like it. I think, from my general experience with submitting entries (which I dare claim I have a significant amount of), that this should be a mildly entertaining read. I'm also done way before the deadline, which partly gives me no excuse to have grammatical errors or misspellings or anything in my text. Whelp. Better re-read it once a day before finally submitting on the final day. Haha.
@Whimsley Eh. ... Does the fact that you "liked" that post where I was debating where to post or not but figured "no" mean that the correct answer was the same as the conclusion I had reached?

Um.

Edit: Or, was that like a "go ahead"? Or... Did you just like me debating it and I'm reading way too much into it? I'm confused. Oh, well. XD
It was three days ago since I last posted? Oh, geesh. Then I post.

Rowan blinked when he realized he was being spoken to. Mara? She asked him a question. She actually asked him a question. A mixture of happiness at being needed and doubt about if he could actually be of use flowed through him. He HAD studied extensively, so… time for that to be of use! It had to be! He cast a quick look forward at where Purrloin was fighting her way through the web, afraid he’d miss something while explaining. No matter. He had to focus. Alright. Sweet Scent?

Yeah! He remembered! He had read about it. In the “techniques for capturing” section, that is. It was used to attract Pokémon. … But why would you ever use it in a battle? H-he… he had no idea! But, would he actually say that? That he had no idea what it was used for? … Mara was depending on him, suddenly. If he said he had no idea, she might feel even more confused, which might be bad for the battle. Making a swift decision, Rowan chose to make up something that sounded likely.

Don’t mind it! He started, giving her a determined look. ‘Pokémon are sensitive to the scent! It’s meant to daze the opponent, making the fight easier! Don’t mind it, fight through it! You can do it!’ He encouraged, hoping that he hadn’t taken too long so that he hadn’t end up in a mess of his own by not focusing on his own fight, before turning back to his own fight. Hopefully… hopefully that helped…!

I've been debating if I should answer Mara's question out of turn or not. My general consensus to myself is "no", but... Hm...
