Sure, that'll do. Feel free to continue investigating the lantern, Mariette just isn't interested. Heh.
Mariette
and Eli

If the magic of the universe was working as correctly, the common men who had seen all that should be explaining it away in more reasonable terms at first possible opportunity. Regardless, now Mariette held herself in place under the deck of the Bastion, mostly because she didn’t want anyone to see what it had took to open the portal, or what followed.

The moment they drove through the massive portal, all Mariette’s other portals vanished, including those which held her in place. She and the mirror fell off the wall, her tentacles quickly wrapping around them both as they hit the floor, trying to prevent any damage from happening. She succeeded, of course, but the mirror having been torn from the magic circle meant the portal behind them suddenly crumbled and collapsed behind them and any who might have snook in along with them, the arc cracking and falling before vanishing into thin air.

… Okay, that’d do. Ensuring she was fine, Mariette stood up, dusting herself off, and got ready to show her face again.

On deck, Eli had been holding on, blinking in amazement at the blood moon on the horizon.

‘Thaaaat’s not usually here,’ she stated the obvious, gesturing at the moon, taking out her notes and looking them over. While she was doing that, Alicia made a comment about that they only found Libby Bibby when looking for allies…

‘Yeah, me neither, it’s a blow to my pride that my notes could only find one…’ She made a peeved expression. ‘Still, one’s better than none, I’ll just hope Libby’s super-capable and not a trap,’ she then added, before looking over to what Helga was saying, and then what Alexander was saying. Huh, there was a lamp out there, couldn’t see it… Still, to Amber’s question about how her sailors were doing, Eli lifted her fluid wings with an expressionless face to call out in similar tone. ‘We’re living for now! Ask again later!’ … Then lowered her wings to look over the notes submerged in them again.

… And somewhere around here Mariette walked out through a portal onto deck again, holding a stuffed bunny and a focused expression, dress still damaged from the earlier attempt on her life. She had left the mirror in a hopefully secure state below deck. She couldn’t carry it with her everywhere. She’d check with Absolute Direction to make sure it was still there every now and then.

‘Welcome to the Overcity. Those new to this place should beware not to wander the Sprawl, lest you might never find your way back to the world whence you came,’ Mariette warned. ‘Unless a person claims otherwise, assume I’m the only one who can navigate this world or bring you back from it. For now, the direction we’re heading…’ Testing with Absolute Direction again, Mariette slowly lifted her free hand to point in a direction before them… in the direction of the blood moon. ‘Justine is that way. We should hurry.’

… Mariette didn’t really care much about some lantern she couldn’t even see, frankly.

‘The ritual has started? What ritual?’ Eli turned and asked Helga, frowning, eyes interested in what knowledge the girl might hold about the workings of the enemy. Of course, Mariette and therefore Eli by extension were suspicious of Helga, but for now.
Okay, so I was exhausted, but really wanted to post. So, here.

@Rune_Alchemist Tell me if anything's unclear.

@Pikmin Eye There was a moment there where Koffing was just hovering there being like "er, something should be happening right about now" which is also potentially an opening to do something if you want to throw in an extra move, heh.

@Pirouette So, knowing Joshua's priorities made it a bit awkward to figure out what to write in this post, but here's if you go ahead and rest in the mines. Sure, that works fine. Tell me if you change any of that, I'm not sure how I was to write that but yet I really wanted to post, so here, haha. I also wasn't sure if you were going to just rest or spend the night, hah. Anyways. Yeah. Hah.
@Rune_Alchemist

Ritz waited for the optimum moment to strike back with Comet Punch, and when the bird was close enough, he struck! … Successfully! He managed to hit the bird from the front three times before Natu slipped under the next punch and pecked him in the stomach for his troubles. The hit was, as between birds and bugs, Super Effective and did considerable damage, but as Natu’s actually on lower level than Ritz it only lowered him to around 55%. He can take another, just not by much.

Ralia’s launched her Disarming Voice, the sound of her voice enchanted with fairy magic tracked down Natu’s ears and struck, and having been caused considerable damage he broke away from Ritz to circle about and find a new angle, making use of speed to find a new opening. Natu had been flanking and was off from comrades, so the other enemies were relatively safe from Disarming Voice due to direction.

Meanwhile.

Froakie dodged another lightning-bolt only to be hit by another thrown rock, the frog looked pretty dazed by rocks now and more than half damaged, yet ready to fight some more. And here Anise employed her plan.

‘Mienfoo, tackle the Mareep aside, Pound!’ So she commanded, and Mienfoo bounced forward to attack, empowered by Meditate. While doing so, Anise continued. ‘Froakie, Bubble Cyndaquil and Bonsly!’ she followed up, and Froakie jumped forward.

‘Tsk. Sheep, shock anything. Thing, smoke the ground and dodge!’ Ellyn attempted to counter. So, compared to Mareep, Mienfoo is both bigger and stronger. Mareep launched a Thundershock, which hit Mienfoo, but the Fighting-type overpowered the damage from the shocks to dart in next to Mareep and strike it with a palm of a Pound while jumping, carrying the sheep out of the way and brought both of them closer to Ralia.

Cyndaquil blasted a Smokescreen into the ground between him, Bonsly and Froakie, before darting aside to take cover. Froakie, meanwhile, spew out a vast amount of bubbles which drifted through the smoke, at least a number hitting Cyndaquil and Bonsly. Ellyn herself stood in the way of them hitting Growlithe, though. Froakie made his way through the smoke, closer to the two Pokémon weak to his bubbles.

Meanwhile, Mienfoo came to a stop as he had struck Mareep aside. She had avoided becoming paralyzed and stood ready to attack the sheep again. Said sheep was glaring back and charging another Thundershock. Bonsly was picking another rock to throw at Froakie and Cyndaquil was looking like it was preparing to fire an Ember at Mienfoo’s back to allow Mareep to get back and thundering the frog.

With other words, Ritz and Ralia were relatively unattended, except for Natu circling and waiting for a moment to strike. What would Claire do?

Martin turned to a new target. Koffing, over here, floating around with that big smile when Sprout flung Leech Seed at it.

‘KOFFING!’ Koffing proudly announced as it flew close and belched purple gas in all directions which would quickly envelop Sprout. … And there Koffing could float with a big smile as it slowly pieced together why Poison Gas did absolutely nothing on the at-a-glance grass-type. Being sapped of more energy, Koffing had to change his plan.

There was enough time there if Sprout wanted to do one other move in between, keeping in mind that Koffing was levitating (notable ability: levitate, hah) around two meters into the air. But, after enough consideration had gone into it not working, Koffing took more direct tactics.

‘… KOFF!’ The smiling poison-filled ball expelled some gas and launched itself at Sprout, aiming for a good old tried and true Tackle. It was also charging some smoke inside it preparing for a potential smoke-related attack, but one attack at a time. What would Martin and Sprout do?

Poli was sent back to the PC.

‘But I do think so!’ Joshua replied with a smile to Erika’s belief that she wouldn’t get that strong. Then there was the introduction to Sneasel and the Pokémon smirked and gave her a little claw-filled wave before Erika went along to the rest of her retelling. ‘Lileep and Inkay, huh.’ He remarked, those not being that common names. Anyways, Erika went on to mention that she intended to get some shut eye and rest, and…

‘Huh, here?’ Joshua blinks at the direction of the miner’s place, and then looks to Erika with a bit of a smirk. ‘Okay, maybe it’s right at home for you, but I’d probably prefer someplace just a bit warmer for me to rest on. Like, Lakewatch Town or perhaps just head on to Stillwood Village. That’s where we were intending on going, anyway. Or… did you intend to continue mining? Well, that’s fine, too.’ Regardless of what she determined, Joshua could stay and talk mining a bit, but he needed to go get Ewan and would rather not rest in Frozen Cavern if he could help it, but Erika could. They could meet up on Route 5 later again if so suited them.

Anyways, if Erika otherwise didn’t change her course of action of resting inside Frozen Cave at somewhere the miners tended to rest, she could do so. Isaac could make sure she got a little corner of her own with a blanket and something soft to rest on, and then she could stay there for as long as she liked while her Pokémon could rest as well.

In the case she did so, eventually she’d come to in the Frozen Cave Mines again, and from there it was up to her what she wanted to do now.

Connected areas:
Route 5. Exit the mines and you’ll be right there.
Frozen Cave. The Frozen Cave proper awaits beyond the mine.

@Pirouette Heh, alright. Ending the day. That'll do. Nicely posted.

I will say Joshua would probably prefer to sleep somewhere a bit warmer, but eh. XD
I'll just write the flow of things in the post and then you can decide how to go about it in your own post after.

... Or is this a mid-day resting? Did I misunderstand about getting shut-eye? Hah.
Okay. I'll try to get a post up in 24 hours.

@Pikmin Eye I might perhaps remove the "party cannot be full" requirement, because it really makes no sense as to why the empty shell would take that into account, hah.
@Rune_Alchemist It is pretty reasonable that sound wouldn't miss. But, with all reasoning it should have range. ... So, should I imagine it like a homing attack with homing sound-waves that'll never miss or just sound like normal? Problem with that, how do one then explain other sound-based moves that can miss? Are they just launched like beams? ... Well, I'll just have to assume something, or just make sure Disarming Voice just doesn't miss, haha. Nicely posted.

@Pikmin Eye Alright, going after Koffing. Nicely posted. So, one move and then see what Koffing does? Alright, then. Then I'll have Koffing reply with the same, with the assumption I don't get any ridiculous ideas.
@Ariamis

If you'll make me consider it, then perhaps a bit further away, if so is still safe to a reasonable degree. That particular site might have been under watch because she showed up there earlier, if perhaps someone could sense that. The site of arrival should be relatively safe, hopefully. I'm personally kind of unsure how to arrange that, but Mariette should be more experienced with the Overcity than I am. Heh.
There, posted. Tell me if those concerned have any questions.

Mariette is very aware opening a portal like that might have consequences, but right now she just wants to get them out of there.

I intentionally had extra description because, yeah, massive portal, need to give it the description it deserves so we don't mistake it for nothing special. Because Mariette can't open portals like this all willy-nilly. Hah.
Mariette
and Eli

(before policemen arrived) Mariette ignored the rest of the words from Suwako and Alicia. She had a line on her tongue about how “as long as Justine’s a threat, it is my greatest interest to-”, but that would imply she’d turn on them the moment of their victory, so she didn’t.

Later. Eli was first looking a tad curiously at Libby Bibby, considering just how this girl could have developed this kind of personality, then Eli went and shot by a policeman.

‘Yow!’ Eli jumped back and crouched after the bullet plunged straight through her liquid body, wing going to hold over the place where she was hit. Yow, that actually hurt, somehow. ‘Police brutality! Police brutality! I didn’t even do anything!’ she called, though still joking. … Okay, so it wasn’t as funny without Deni around… It used to be the two of them joking back-and-forth… Eli sighed and waited for it to stop hurting.

Then she proceeded to hold on as the craft started moving, as detailed.

Meanwhile, Mariette holding onto a mirror with her tentacles trying to hold her in place while also drawing circular markings around the mirror. The very rapid stop was about to throw her off, but a few tentacles lashed out and hit portals right behind her which led to solid surfaces on the roof so they could brace her.

Mariette felt slight relief seeing that Amber apparently had an epiphany about how to control the place. … And then she quickly spun the portal that was connecting to Amber when the girl blew up her cheeks, because Mariette wasn’t curious enough to find out what she was doing to potentially risk getting soaked if the pirate was intending on sending water into her face. She settled for listening to Sue diffusing whatever that was, and then listening to Amber’s confirmation. Okay, then.

She had no confirmation of where to go, but the ship was done, sooo.

Without another word, Mariette poured in her magic into Asengav’s mirror, through her tentacles, drawing out the peculiar shape her tentacles was making to complete this minor ritual. As the mana surged through her tentacles into the mirror, it projected said magic through unseen space, greatly amplifying it and placing it in front of the ship. There, a portal now took shape.

The frame took shape like a dark serpent suddenly slithering out from nowhere on the right side of the ground. At a speed like a plane sweeping by it slithered through the air in a great arc to create a massive circle, large enough to drive through. Then, the contents of the circle became hazy, then complete darkness. Leaving it dark was intentional on Mariette’s part, borrowed power from Asengav’s mirror, since actually letting people (or things on the other side) see through such a massive portal into the other world could be… bad.

All the same, it meant a portal to the Overcity was open for them. The reflective witch had intentionally placed the other side a bit aways from where she had felt Justine, to ensure they shouldn’t necessarily be ambushed upon arrival to the best of her knowledge. Mariette was holding the portal steady by focusing power on the mirror and using tentacles on portals behind her to keep herself steady against it.

‘Go!’ she called to Amber. A portal of this size and to a separate plane of existence was just a tad more draining than a regular portal, meaning Mariette would rather not have to maintain it for long.

And then there was another detail. Mariette’s portals couldn’t go through her portals. They were etched in the magical energy she had charged into their current location, and her magic energy that were maintaining portals could not themselves pass through the portals. Meaning, these braces she had created to keep her from falling due to this craft’s acceleration? Yeah, those would vanish as they passed through. … Mariette affirmed to herself she’d have her tentacles deal with it somehow.
