Bio

Welcome to my Bio, random person. Yeah, my name is pretty redundant (Polaris - North Star, North... well north.)

Things you need to know about me?

I live in the Philippines. I'm a student and life gets a bit hectic so please understand if I suddenly become more sporadic when it comes to replies.

I'm involved in a lot of fandoms (mostly anime) and as long as it gets my interest, I'll join. My range is from free to casual [or well, as long as I can get it from the post I'm replying to]. I'm more of a fantasy kid than a slice of life but I think I can join something like that. I'm not much of a romance writer so I keep myself to PG-13 and not exceed anything else.

Julio hung back, he was practically at the end of the crowd maintaining a certain distance from everyone. He leaned on the wall and looked at the design of the hall. There really wasn't anything interesting to point out. The voice of a woman caught his attention and he looked back at the stage where a woman had taken the center to speak and to introduce them to the Grandmaster. His eyebrow was raised as he saw that the Grandmaster was actually a faunus. This was a first, then again, his father was at a high rank and he was a faunus. It's surprising because some humans don't approve of this.

There were rumors that this Academy would be easy to pass at? His father wouldn't have placed him here if that was the case. And he guessed that most of the students here never thought of such a thing. Or at least he hoped not. He listened intently as the Grandmaster continued to speak about teaching them various things to become full-fledged hunters. He was glad that this was no joke. He then turned to the open door and then made his way there along with the other students.
Vincent - Axis Agent and Layla - Halfbreed Angel

Before the hologram could reply to his question, one of the halfbreeds, Nyra he remembered his name was, responded negatively to it. Vincent wasn’t too surprised with it, only meeting the raging eyes of Nyra with his calm gaze. He was an agent, first and foremost, and this was a question he asked frequently. He also understood why she got angry, considering the fact that it might be a halfbreed who has been stirring up trouble. The only thing he didn’t like about the statement was when she called him a ‘trigger happy monkey’. While the monkey insult was fine, he was not, by all means, trigger happy. He measures his shots carefully to ensure that every shot counts.

Blake sat up straight as soon as the angel halfbreed had her outburst. Right, this guy was an emo eater, a demon who feeds off the negative emotions of humans (and apparently other halfbreeds as well) and has the ability to amplify it. Despite knowing this, his hand was itching to grab his gun then and there and put a bullet in Nyra’s head. He closed his eyes and expelled a shaky breath, obviously trying to grab a hold of himself. The last thing he wanted to do was jeopardize the mission because he was influenced by a half-demon.

Before they all went head to head with each other, Sonya had managed to stop Blake and then tension lessened and he could feel that he had a better grip of his emotions. Before the general had spoken, he turned to Nyra and then bowed his head. ”I am sorry if I had offended you in any way.” While this action might be viewed as good and bad depending on the person, he felt the need to do it. While this would be looked down on when you’re part of the Axis agency, they’re teammates now so he felt compelled to apologize for pushing her to an agitated state and thus almost causing a disaster in their first meeting.

He then turned back to the hologram as he continued and finally answered his question. He nodded. Only kill if necessary, understandable. Just like what the guy said, they needed answers to their questions. He’d better pack some ‘tranquilizer’ shots then, if anything, it’s to slow whatever it is down without killing it. All the more better if he could manage to put it to sleep for a few hours, just so they could secure it.

Layla’s ears picked up on several footsteps advancing towards the room. It was faint but she could hear it. The general proceeded to say that someone else would be arriving at their position. The door opened and the smell of smoke attacked her nose. It immediately caught her attention and she turned to the general direction of the door. Whether it is good that she can’t see her or not, no one is entirely sure. However, she could hear that her voice was pretty muffled, baffling her on the reason why. She could hear Vincent mutter something along the lines of, ”Oh? Subject 1041? Interesting… truly interesting.” While the brown haired halfbreed wasn’t given much access to information about other halfbreeds, even she has heard little talks about her and her dangerous tendencies.

Vincent, on the other hand, put a hand over his mouth as he placed his elbow on the table. Why he did this? To hide the grin that was forming on his mouth. This was really going to be interesting. Only top agents were allowed to handle her because she was deemed ‘dangerous’ and as what she was wearing said, she was placed in isolation and for good reason. This girl can generate napalm-like fire. No wonder she was in that get-up. He then turned his gaze towards Sonya who looked perfectly composed. She definitely has her hands full. With both this girl and Blake (given that the latter seemed to be obedient to her) on her hands, he doubted she would have enough time to worry about herself.

While he was planning to give it his one hundred percent, he was willing to push himself to the limit if it meant that it would take at least some load off of her shoulders. They were still part of the same agency after all. He and Layla nodded and the hologram disappeared. It was silent for a while, no one daring to speak.

It was then that Nyra had broke the silence by laughing at the board’s decision of bringing in a halfbreed angel who is obviously very dangerous. She had a point though. Bringing in someone of their kind all bound up would not only result in distrust, but just pure out hate. They already hated the Axis so much, and now this happens. Ah well, what's done is done. He didn't speak, fearing that it might push yet another button in the same or maybe another halfbreed.

He was never good with conversations anyway.
Saying good night to the others, he re-entered his room and then proceeded to sleep. Tomorrow was power-controlling day huh? Well considering that he has a good grasp on his powers, he should be able to just sit it out while the housekeeper tells the others what they should do. It's quite interesting to see others develop their powers too.
@Gowi

Haha, if that's the reaction then I bet Brendan will more than like visiting time and time again. At least it's a different response than others.
@Shadow Daedalus@Sterling

I was thinking that maybe my character knows yours since he visits neighboring kingdoms far to frequently. And since Lothloryen is just to the south of Tromania so it's highly possible that he has visited the kingdom.

Like most of his kind, he has blonde hair and blue eyes with not even a small pigment coming from other ethnicities. He actually looks younger than what he actually is but it doesn’t seem to bother him all that much despite all the insults hurled at him. Especially since he's only five foot five, and doesn't look all that muscular. He also has light skin, however, he is slightly darker than most of his siblings considering that he's mostly outside, covertly analyzing what is happening out of the castle.

He has a burn scar in his left hand and is the main reason why he wears gloves all the time. His dress code is usually his princely attire and despite looking very uncomfortable and impractical, he carries it just fine and he is able to move just fine in it. However, he can be seen not wearing that and only just a formal looking coat, a casual undershirt and slacks. Most of the coats he owns has his family crest stitched as if to remind everyone of his status as a prince.

Brendan is often referred to as “The Rogue Prince of Tromaria” and for good reason. He is something akin to a free spirit despite being a price mostly because he doesn't have much responsibilities as a last born of 8 children. He would often leave home for days at end with his combat maid to inspect the kingdom he is living in covertly or even going as far as visiting another kingdom without prior notice to both his siblings and the rulers of the neighboring kingdom. He is very curious about his surroundings, the differences of each kingdom and races’ cultures and the differences between the life of a royal and the common folk, social statuses and such. However, as much as he enjoys time outside, he also spends equal time inside, studying about economy, mathematics and anything related to finances as he wants to at least be if service to someone once he grows old, even if it's just a mere instructor or advisor. He truly does have an interest in the subject anyway, and also possesses natural intelligence to get such complex things at such a young age. Memorizing things comes easily to him as well, already learning three languages at his young age.

Brendan is ambiverted. While he can be social, most of the time, he's content with staying quiet and listening to others. However, if faced with a quiet type, he would often strike up a conversation if he feels like the other person is up for it. He's good at picking up signals and acts carefully around others. Although he is a prince, and normally a prince knows how to assert himself, he has trouble actually speaking up just to avoid conflict as he says that it drains his energy reservoir. While a lot of people think that Brendan is easy prey and they could use him, it's actually not very easy. He is aware when he is being manipulated and will stand his ground when that time comes. He is also very passive about things, insults just bounce off of him and he doesn't react too much when he's complimented.

He hates boredom over everything. Given his interests in others, he just loves seeing other personalities of people. Even if they're rude or kind, narcissistic or humble, everything is interesting to him. He likes the idea of everyone being unique and is the reason why he likes hanging out with other people in other kingdoms. It is also the reason why he has grown tired of hanging out with his siblings once they had been attending lectures more frequently. His siblings were losing their individuality, hiding themselves behind a wall of steel to become great rulers. They had become uninteresting. Don't mistake me, he still loves and respects them but he just doesn't find their company to be more worthwhile than just simple family get togethers. It's also obvious whenever he feels like he is growing tired of something, and admittedly, he grows tired of most things very quickly. But if he doesn't, it means that he'll stick by it until the end.

Brendan is the last born out of eight children, six of which are male and the other two are twin females. Because he is the last out of all of them, he wasn't too important and so his parents never looked at him as either a son or a political tool. He was placed under the care of his aunt who also had a daughter born at the same time as him. Brendan and his cousin, Rivellia, grew up with each other but the latter was but a mere servant to the male but became his best friend nonetheless. He was a smart child and understood immediately why his parents never actively sought out for him. He didn't feel sad about it though, as he couldn't care less by that time.

His siblings were kind to him, often playing with him when they have the time. However, as years pass by and the lectures became heavier on their shoulders, they soon stopped coming to him to play leaving the young one by himself. However, even he grew tired of his siblings as they grew older. Rivellia also had training to attend to leaving Brendan by his lonesome most of the time. His parents gave him tutors, yes, but they were only for etiquette and things he grew tired of quickly. He instead spends most of his time inside the library, learning about the different cultures of the kingdoms around the world, economics, the races and history.

Once he had reached eleven years of age, his father had unfortunately died from an illness and his mother also died from food poisoning. The culprit was quickly found to be one of her jealous sisters who sought for the king's hand before. And so his eldest brother, King Isaiah Tromvara had assumed the throne. He had also married a Forloni princess. It was then that he had expressed to his brother some things he thought of to build safer trade routes and who they should improve their relations with. To be fair, his brother was rather impressed with what he was saying and said that he would keep it in mind.

And so when Brendan had requested his brother to give him a tutor, Isaiah replied with making the court wizard teach him the ropes. He had started with basic fire and basic lightning spells. However, at one time, something had gone wrong and Brendan had accidentally burnt his left hand. It had gotten better as time passed by, but it left a nasty mark and Brendan's not too fond of showing it to others. After a while of this, he had asked his brother once more if he could accompany him to the Divine Well. King Isaiah once more had agreed. When they got there, however, instead of just looking at the Well, he had actually dove in. After being reprimanded, Brendan had told Isaiah that he did it for his magic studies.

It was when he was twelve when he had started sneaking out of the castle to observe the commoners, it was also the time when Rivellia had finished her training and thus can accompany Brendan wherever he wants to go. While his house does value everyone, commoners and nobles alike, they don't really go down to the commoner houses too much since they're too busy with everything else that's happening. So he wanted to observe what it was like when the rulers don't come down too much. Unsurprisingly, the commoner's were living quite happily. He noticed that not many had recognized him as the last-born prince without the coat that said it. Years passed and he visits other kingdoms more frequently while not saying anything to his siblings. They don't really mind him going out, as long as he didn't do anything that would ruin relations with said kingdom.

Now, sixteen years after his birth, he would enroll in The Conclave where he could further enhance his knowledge and have fun along the way.

His brother, the current king, had always noticed that Brendan was gifted when it came to studying, especially in finances. Wanting to help his brother, he suggested that Brendan should attend The Conclave and when he finished, he would have a job waiting for him. Brendan was more overjoyed by the fact that King Isaiah had noticed his efforts than going to the school. He also wanted to learn more about magic, healing magic to be precise.

Diplomacy: Brendan was never assertive enough as a person so he's very weak at persuading people with words. He's more of a follower than a leader despite being a prince. However, if he knows some good points (especially in the field of finances), he would put it up there and then let the person decide whether he'll follow or not.

Faith: Brendan wasn't much of a believer. But unless it's proven that something else led to the peace between all kingdoms, he would still acknowledge Gaea as the one who did it.

Intrigue: He's a very patient person and if he is curious, he will continue to ask until he gets his answer. However, he can pick up on signals (especially aggressive ones) and knows when to stop lest he wants his head to roll off the block. If he really puts his head into it though, he can get information from people easily.

Magic: Magic is something Brendan is especially interested at. It's the only thing he requested his brother to tutor him and he got his wish, a court wizard was ordered to teach him at certain days. It wasn't too long until he had managed to learn the basics of lightning and healing magic, but he's more interested in the latter as it can help people.

Martial: As a prince, he was thought self-defense. He had taken up swordplay and archery but not more other than that. He relies more on basic magic and his personal combat maid to protect him. But if both fails him, he has the failsafe of knowing how to wield a sword and a bow.

Stewardship: Having both the natural aptitude and interest in the field of economics and finances, Brendan is practically assured to be in this field. While not really liking too much money, he wants to keep the kingdom going and thriving. As boring as the subject may be, he just has a natural affinity and is drawn to it.

[ ♚ ] C O M P A N I O N S
Rivellia: The only person he brought was his cousin and combat maid. She is of Tromani and Aladori descent, having a braided blonde hair and stands at around five foot four. Rivellia was born around the same time as Brendan so the two practically grew up with each other. She's the only one Brendan can fully trust and she is fiercely loyal. Brendan also affectionately calls her ‘Flare’ because of how she’s usually quiet but when she’s in complete bodyguard mode, it’s like she changes.

[ ♚ ] R E L A T I O N S
Princess Aleandra Charlottian Pridedane Of Vespira - Brendan had met her here and there considering that they're from neighboring kingdoms. He sees her as interesting, just like most people. They are mere acquaintances though so he's looking forward to talking with her more.

Princess Rhelissa Sevareviel Fel of Aladore - He had met the stone cold princess when he was young at an imperial ball. He was told that he should at least introduce himself to some people so that others would actually know about him. He wasn't too famous with them after all considering the fact that he only seldom went to social gatherings. He had briefly talked to Rhelissa before he was pulled away by his father to talk to some other noble. He is impressed with how... should we say, formal, she was when they had talked. He's looking forward to how much she changed over the years.

Princess Anareliea Ayelet Hulevia of The Imperium of Gaealia - Brendan had been dragged to too many festivities because of his brothers' absences. Unlike before, he had stuck by one place until he had heard murmurs from other nobles about a person named Anareliea. Interested in these rumors, he decided to approach the two nobles and they explained to him her reputation. This was an opportunity Brendan could not pass up. He had actively searched from the princess and engaged in a conversation about Gaea with her. She had tried to explain everything to him, however, the time was too short and they had to separate. After hearing that she was attending The Conclave, he looked forward to talking with her again.

Prince Ydrian Kareth Hawkhart of Kalcia - Brendan had met this particular flirty person when Prince Isaiah had been crowned King. As per tradition with most of the Tromvari houses, Ydrian and his family was invited. He wouldn't have met Ydrian if he hadn't started speaking to his cousin, Rivellia. He had apparently found her attractive and after speaking with Ydrian, he started to find him interesting as well. His confidence and flirty attitude was something Brendan actually found refreshing. A breath of fresh air, one could say. And when the party was over, the two had started exchanging letters.

Prince Prometheus Artemis Blackwater - Brendan had met Prometheus when he was young. Having been brought along for a diplomatic meeting for reasons he was not able to fathom, he was bored out of his mind. Being restless, he slipped out of the meeting and headed out. He hadn't heard much about Blackwater, to be honest, so he was more or less interested in seeing everything. What he did not expect was meeting another person. He had struck a conversation with him and was quite surprised to find out that he was one of the princes of the kingdom. They had talked and became friends. Brendan kept in touch with him through letters but after he had reached thirteen years of age, he had lost contact with the prince. Wanting to know what happened, he had travelled to the kingdom once more and found that Prometheus acted differently. Brendan didn't approach Prometheus or anyone from the royal family and left without a word.

Sweet thanks.

Seems I only have a few small things to address before I approve this one as well. Header needs to be changed to their name (as I edited in), and two things I should probably mention— the first of all is the name “flare” seems more of a nickname than a given name, I’m a little curious about her actual given name (or if this was intended to be as such), secondly arriving with just your cousin is interesting is she enrolled at The Conclave as a student as well?, thirdly about Brendan’s interest in healing magic… well, he’s from Tromania where The Order of the Silver Dragon, the very first paladin order was formed and have been doing their duties for a little while now. I’ll adjust accordingly and add paladins/clerics as keepers at the academy but I’m curious on if Brendan tried to join the Silver Dragon or simply gain access to holy magic by dousing himself in the holy well or not. Stuff like that. Once we clear this up ACCEPTEDLAND we go.

Flare is her birthname, but I could change it to sound more formal. I wouldn't mind. You know how there are times where there's a certain family who serves another family for a very long time but when you trace their roots, their ancestor is just the same? That's the case with Flare and Brendan. So no, she isn't enrolled in The Conclave and just accompanied him there.

I would imagine that he asked his brother to take him to the Divine Pool and then he just dove in without any prior permission. Then he gained access to holy powers and wants to learn more about more complex healing magic.

Vincent - Axis Agent and Layla - Halfbreed Angel

Under the table, Layla tapped Vincent who in turn looked at her and then nodded. She began tapping his arm to send hidden messages. She had a frown on her face, while it wasn't very obvious from an outsider's perspective, anyone who actually knew her for a long time would know that she wasn't too happy about what was written on the files. She had 'read' that the Axis agents will be supplied with the liquid that can forcefully contract her wings. Not only will it be without her permission but it's also very very painful, like those times when she had been experimented on.

Vincent, while tapping her his message, directed his attention to the two who walked in. An angel halfbreed and a demon halfbreed, both clearly not liking the fact that they were there. Well truth be told, all of them, with the sole exception of Layla who grew up in the facility, did not like being there. Not that he blamed them or anything. They were old enemies after all.

He could vaguely remember Blake's file in his hands before, but it was an assassination mission and he was the target. While the black haired male was relentless when it came to finishing his missions, he was suddenly pulled back saying that the case went cold or something. He guessed that something happened which led to them cancelling the mission. He didn't really care, it was one mission off of his back.

After the two exchanged codes, Sonya had decided to introduce herself and soon Flynn did so as well. Layla smiled gratefully at them, following it with two taps on the ground using her cane. While it may look weird and utterly pointless to the others, it served as her 'eyes'. She could guess that everyone was there and she can certainly feel that the halfbreeds were there. They... felt different than the agents. Some part of her was glad that she is able to be in a team with others of her kind and the other part was scared. This was her first time being allowed to interact with other halfbreeds, save for those she heals, so this was a new experience for her.

Vincent then looked at Sonya. "I've heard a great deal about you Ms. Hellsing. It's an honor to work with you." He had heard about her mother and how she was one of the greatest agents in Axis. But that was besides the matter, Sonya, herself, was an excellent information gatherer and all-around agent. He then turned to the albino agent, KB. "You too Sir KB." Another gatherer of information and an apt assassin like him. While all three of them had some reputation, they weren't exactly the best out of all the agents. Could it possibly be that they were running out of top agents or something? He then turned to the halfbreeds. Having the top brass actually agree to taking them and forming a team consisting of both races… all well, all three, was a real surprise. He simply cracked a smile at the other races.

Layla was willing to say something to the halfbreeds, to break the ice and everything. Unlike the agents who had heard about each other through work, they didn't know anything about each other besides the ones on the files. Before she could speak, however, she could hear some sort of technology activating which was then followed by an unfamiliar voice. It was only then that Vincent explained that it was a hologram and she nodded.

The two listened intently to what the man had said, both not reacting too much to what he was saying. Vincent placed his arms on the table as he listened, stifling a yawn that he felt was coming. However, as he ended, his eyes narrowed at the hologram. They were sending them to London even though it was already searched? To add more to that, looking for clues that the agents might've missed? Axis is very thorough when it came to investigating and now they're saying that they may have missed something?

It was then that Blake spoke, asking what would happen if they didn't find anything. It was a good question. There's a high possibility that nothing would be waiting for them there. If the agents have missed it before, it might've been cleaned up already. The hologram responded by stating that they would be taken back here and then will be given new orders. Fair enough. It looks like they'll be sticking with each other for quite some time.

He felt another tug on his sleeve and he turned to Layla who had a questioning look on her face. He leaned towards her to whisper that it was Blake and then KB who spoke and she nodded. Having read Blake's file, she could guess why he didn't tell her his name or even made a sound so she could differentiate his voice from others. And from his tone, she could feel that he was slightly agitated.

"In the case that we do meet this threat, should we capture or kill?" It was something he had to ask. Whether it be halfbreed, fullbreed, human or something else entirely, he was willing to put a bullet through its head... or wherever its vital point was. That thing caused a lot of agents' deaths and he heard that it was creating unease in heaven and hell too so he would like to put an end to it as soon as possible.
