Bio

Welcome to my Bio, random person. Yeah, my name is pretty redundant (Polaris - North Star, North... well north.)

Things you need to know about me?

I live in the Philippines. I'm a student and life gets a bit hectic so please understand if I suddenly become more sporadic when it comes to replies.

I'm involved in a lot of fandoms (mostly anime) and as long as it gets my interest, I'll join. My range is from free to casual [or well, as long as I can get it from the post I'm replying to]. I'm more of a fantasy kid than a slice of life but I think I can join something like that. I'm not much of a romance writer so I keep myself to PG-13 and not exceed anything else.

No rush man. I can understand real life getting in the way.
Personally waiting on Hikari and/or Mari's posts.
Raviel Husk

Raviel bid farewell to both Alicia and Seleth after their registration to prepare. Well, "prepare" might be too strong of a word. It was more psyching himself up for the fight because he didn't know what to expect. All his matches before were things he had studied up for by watching others during their academy time. Now, he didn't know if he would be faced with an outsider so there was a whole heap of uncertainty that was in his heart that he felt only once - which was his first time participating. Though, at the same time, he was excited. New people to fight with and learn from!

When he was summoned, he quickly leapt to his feet and headed for the arena. He saw some familiar faces there, some friends from back at the academy. Well, he didn't mind. Whether there was someone out there cheering for him or not, he wanted to have fun during the tournaments. His opponent was robed and hooded and he didn't see anything there - no weapon, no nothing. Guess he was just magically inclined.

"Hi there!" He greeted with a wave. He didn't care if that guy was out for blood or out for his skin, this was just a friendly competition. No need to get so serious.

His ears twitched as the referee began speaking. Same old rules, same old story. At least that much didn't change. He made sure to dispel any blessings on him before the match... which he had to reapply during it. A shame right? But nevertheless, he listened well. Galmore and... invited fighter? Oh... Oh boy this will be interesting. As the match begun, Raviel's hands were already at work. He began to write his runic blessings one by one.

Enhanced Durability. Check.

Galmore was buff. It was definitely not what he was expecting. So this'll be a physical fight? Well, he still wasn't sure. No telling with these outsiders. He'll just have to wait and see. He began writing the next rune as Galmore began to proceed forward.

Protection against magic. Check.

He kept his eyes on Galmore, waiting for him to do something while also slowly moving back as he continued to write his blessings. It was both a distraction, a bait and a foolish decision all rolled in one. But it never failed him. He still didn't know which third blessing he should put on him though. After all, he did't know what to counter against. Raviel waited for Galmore to make his first move.

Faye Nisval

Faye knew that there was something interesting brewing in Zauberheim when she got there, but the festivities of the outside made her chipper. She mingled with the people there before she went to Luminous Citadel. They were all excited to watch what would happen. They had an interesting lineup this year, after all, and they were just bystanders. They wouldn't be harmed. Faye couldn't deny that, at the very least. It was exciting when you're watching. But when you're there fighting to the top... let's just say it wasn't as fun as they made it out to be.

She soon entered Luminous Citadel and headed to the meeting room. She will visit Radiant Cathedral - her foster home - later. She wasn't sure if she was prepared to face her old comrades, her caretakers... or to face the possibility that they may have already passed on to Aylama's or Amalya's arms. The thought was depressing, but she coulnd't do anything about the nature of life. She dare not do anything to counter it. Playing God did not help anyone, after all.

Faye took a seat when she arrived and made one passing glance to everyone in the room. Tibrus Heathermann - she at least knew who Zauberheim's Head Architect was even if he had taken the name after she left Zauberheim. She'd be a fool to not be caught up in the affairs of her hometown even if she was hesitant to come back. There was this other person who she didn't know or hear about. Interesting.

Athos came to them and joined them on the table. Faye remembered when he was... younger. But of course that was the case, she had been gone for a long time now. He'd been a professor at Seraph Academy so she knew him well. As a professor at least. But she didn't care about that now. It looks like there is some sort of problem if they called her back here. And there it was. She had no intentions of letting King Reindhart down.

"I would also like to question these Arcknights. Surely, for them to have suspicions, there are people they actually suspect of doing so. Or at least some clues." Faye said with a raise of her hand. She caught her habit and placed it back down on the table, hoping no one noticed that or would give attention to that. Being in the presence of her previous teacher sure did ease her back into being a student. "And can we enter any place in the tournament area?"
Furitta backed up continuously, going on the defensive as Baristris relentlessy attacked her before landing a hit to her side with a well-aimed kick. The ferret-themed heroine was tossed to the side and close to the gas that was seeping in. The girl shook her head, dizzy as some of the remnants of the gas went inside of her. She looked up to see Baristriss aiming to bring her water bottle down onto her like a hammer.

She rolled away and placed a hand over her mouth and nose as she entered the gas. She was thinking of a select choice words she would like to say to this woman right now if only she could afford to speak. "Not so tough now huh?" The villain teased as she moved towards her.

That was when it happened. In a blink, Usagi came in and out - and the wind current she created through this movement carried the gas outside. Furitta smirked. "Well then, time's up." She told Baristriss who was trying to process what had happened. Furitta got into her offensive position and began aiming punch after punch at her. Without the gas, the two who were trapped had more movement space. "Good job Usagi!" She yelled, hoping she would be able to hear her somehow.

"Serpentine, Talon, get out here!" She exclaimed before grabbing Baristriss as she aimed a punch and then pushed her to the center of the room so that she was in clear vision of anyone there. Then she started to notice the unconscious bodies of civilians lying on the floor, but scattered enough so that it wouldn't be hard to not step on them as they fought.

Baristriss recovered and took out another gas grenade but was slow enough. There was an open window for them to get it out of her hands before she activated it.
Whoops wrong place
Actually, the gas doesn't have any blinding properties so it makes sense for Serpentine to just have been overwhelmed by the explosion. But @Rockin Strings does raise a good point as the watering if the eyes would have been the cause of her being unable to see in the meantime.
Anywhere really. From Google Docs to piratepad, even on PMs.

So if you guys have a preference, I don't really mind.
Raviel Husk

Rav followed the girls inside the registration tent, his hands inside his pockets as he waited for his turn to put his name down on registration. When he was handed the paper, he quickly scribbled on his name and then handed it over to her. It was the usual routine, nothing too special. The only reason why the wait would have been long before was because of the sheer amount of competitors signing up. But obviously, that had dwindled down. His tail swished behind him and he was ready to go once he had handed back the papers but then the question of their ideal terrain popped up.

That was odd. Didn't they usually just decide it amongst themselves instead of giving the player an edge by taking their input? But he guessed it was the same reason as to why they decided to let outsiders join this time - they wnated it to be different. Seleth answered as expected, confidently stating that she had no preference as she could do well in all areas. Rav, however, wasn't as confident as his dark elf companion. "I prefer places with lots of obstacles. So something... forest-like?" He replied with a small shrug. He excelled in using the area around him, and when there were no obstacles, there was nothing to use. Or maybe that's just because he grew up in the wilderness. Who knows.
M A R V I N H I L L E R

Marvin hadn't stopped smiling when Frankie went on to excitedly comment on his story. It kind of reminds him of a young child being mesmerized by fantasy stories. Unfortunately for him, this was no fantasy story. This was his life story. At least someone enjoyed it. When you look back to it, it certainly was quite a tale and was fun to tell. But during those times, Marvin knew that he felt like it was entirely hopeless and that he would just die right then and there. There was also the time when he had to do something he didn't want to - but had to so he would survive. Staying awake until the next day to make sure nightmares won't haunt him.

"Maybe." Marvin said, but his eyes didn't meet hers or anyone else's. He was looking away. "But that condensed version does not have any of the stories that would make you squirm." He then looked back at her, one finger raised over his lips and gave her a bashful small smile. He let his hand fall onto his side once more but his smile was still there. Why would he tell them - anyone - about the murders he had done or the betrayals that he did? Though he'd never admit it, he even ran away from places not because there was no more work, but because it becomes too overbearing to stay there with memories leaking out of the walls of each area.

When Frankie acknowledged the private investigator, Marvin turned to him as well. "Yeah, he got here when I was beginning to tell my story." He affirmed the man's reply. Then the name came. John Delaware. Didn't ring any bells, but he never really worked well with private investigators. And the man certainly was one. The outfit was a dead giveaway. They get all those details from your past and his hands were too dirty to be at complete ease at opening up. It's one of the reasons why he didn't tell certain stories earlier. And honestly, Marvin didn't doubt that there might be one case or two against him even if he only just tried to exterminate gunners, raiders or the scum of this apocalyptic wasteland. But honestly, he wasn't so sure if those he had killed were on the wrong or right side of morality.

"Marvin. Pleasure to meet you, John." He replied, introducing himself this time to John as that was the norm. They were going to work together after all, and he wanted for them to at least know his name. He would have given them his mercenary name but he thought that might not give them any trust in him - and he was a sniper. He could shoo their back any time he wanted and no one would be none the wiser. So for a sniper to be able to work well with others, or at least put them at ease, they at least needed to trust him somewhat. Or at least, that was ideal.
