Who the fuck is this bitch?!
-Nyxia Torrentia, Neon Tempest of the Ultraviolet Rainbow

“Fucking frog…” Nyxia hissed as she ground her teeth in annoyance at the sight of a sticky tongue yanking Topaz’s hands back just before they could be severed at the wrists. Before she could fire a second shot, Roche leapt for the cupid-themed girl with a baseball bat-wielding girl hard on her heels. The Neon Tempest was just about to redirect her aim towards her partner’s pursuer, when another light girl with a lightning cannon showed up and sent a crackling torrent arcing her way. “Shit…!” Nyxia swore as she prepared to jump out of the actinic tendrils’ path, only to freeze in shock as a tear opened in the fabric of reality, disgorging a strange woman who blocked the lightning blast with her parasol. And… Was she carrying Shatterscape…?

“What the…?”

Even as the stunned Nyxia murmured those words, she realized that this was the presence she’d been sensing. Clearly, the woman was powerful, but she also seemed to be on their side, which was at least somewhat reassuring. But who was she? While the Neon Tempest had never seen her before, there was something oddly familiar about the new arrival. Was this the teacher she’d occasionally seen Rei speaking with outside the clubroom, the woman the club’s enigmatic leader had claimed was its even more enigmatic faculty advisor? If so, she would make for a formidable ally against all the myriad threats currently arrayed against the club, but on the other hand, she had the potential to be even more patronizingly annoying than Rei already was. In any case, her arrival would hopefully bring the current shitshow to a conclusion, thereby allowing Nyxia and her team to get back to things that actually mattered…

Zoppy found a new pillow!
-Zoppy

Zoppy was overjoyed at finally getting her first, real, shiniez, and she hugged them tight against her emaciated, rag-covered chest. Yet, while she celebrated, a battle was taking place around her, the combatants moving with such swiftness that they were beginning to make poor Zoppy feel rather dizzy. Closing her eyes helped, but it also made the feeble goblin girl realize that she was still quite tired. But she also remembered that, in her dream, the skeleton in the other chamber had a gold ring that she was able to buy from it. Perhaps that was also the case here, in the waking world, and the be-ringed skeleton was just waiting against the wall of the other chamber for her to offer it a lucky pebble in exchange for its now unneeded accessory.

“Zoppy’z gonna git anover shiny!” she declared with an excited grin as she scrambled to her feet and across the chamber floor. However, the floor was exceptionally slick, causing the small goblin to slide across it, before crashing into the still-writhing form of Salbjorg. “Whaaa?!!” she yelped as her head crashed down onto the snake woman’s ample bosom. “Oh, wooow…” she marveled as she nuzzled her new pillow. “Yer reaaally comfy…” A moment later, the tired goblin was once again out like a blown lightbulb, her snoring joining Sal’s cacophony of infuriated curses and screams of indignant outrage.

Hopefully, someone would remove her before she started drooling…
@Xaltwind That’s cool. I honestly wasn’t expecting her to be suitable. I just thought it would be fun to give it a shot.

That said, I’d still like to address your various concerns.

First, I was assuming Violet would only interact with her fellow heroes as MDP (Magical Dream Princess), who is physically and mentally 8. In addition, I didn’t see the age cap of 22, so I thought Violet’s real age wouldn’t be a factor either.

Second, while I agree her weakness is very abusable, I would argue that it is more easily abused by her foes. As this character is very much a comedic one, I would always have it come into effect, no matter how detrimental. While she is very powerful, I’ve always envisioned her as being as much of a hindrance to her allies as her enemies.

Third, and relating to the first point, Violet is someone who would wish to retain the secrecy of her true identity at all costs. She would take the entire exam as MDP, and do everything in her power to ensure that no one ever learned that she and MDP were one and the same (something she’d eventually fail to do at the worst possible moment, of course). In fact, I thought that if there was any objection, it would be that someone as childish, hyperactive, and easily distracted as MDP would be incapable of passing the exam.

Finally, in regard to the problematic abilities, the summoned dream constructs would be able to perform a variety of functions, though none of them would actually be capable of causing any form of harm (with the worst thing they could do being to knock a low-powered enemy unconscious). While some can talk, they would mostly just follow MDP whims/requests, rather than act completely independently. Her dream entering ability was mostly for thematic purposes, and probably wouldn’t have much effect in combat whatsoever.

In any case, it looks like you have quite a few other applicants, and with a limit of 5 characters, I’m perfectly fine with not taking part.

I hope you have a successful and fun RP!

Zzzzzzzzzzz...
-Zoppy

When Zoppy finally awoke, she was greeted with the sight of a skeleton sitting on the floor in front of her. His boney form was clothed in tattered rags, not dissimilar to her own, but it was a glint from one of his fingers that quickly caught the drowsy goblin girl’s attention. “Shiny!” she cried in delight as her sparkling eyes stared intently at the gold ring on the skeleton’s finger. She needed to have it, but what could she sell him (or was it a her?) to get it? Frantically looking around her immediate vicinity, she gave a squeal of joy upon finding a misshapen pebble. Plucking it up, she cupped the small treasure in her hands and held it out to the skeleton. “Wanna gib Zoppy yer shiny fer diz lucky pebble?!” she asked with an eager, hopeful smile.

The skeleton was utterly motionless as Zoppy smiled up at it expectantly. It was, after all, a normal skeleton, and thus incapable of movement, at least, of its own, nonexistent accord. But then, through the subtle movements of continental drift, the millions of pounding locomotive appendages of marching armies on the far side of the world, the gravitational forces generated by the precise alignment of several dozen celestial bodies, or violent death of a galaxy cluster-sized eldritch horror in another universe at the hands of the Monarch of Mad Science, the smallest of vibrations caused the skeleton’s head to bow forward.

This was, of course, all the affirmation Zoppy required.

“Dankz!” she happily told the skeleton, before handing it the pebble and pulling the ring off its finger, which promptly crumbled to dust. “Zoppy’z first shiny!” the goblin cheered as she hugged the ring, overjoyed beyond measure.

Unfortunately, this was all just a dream. In reality, Zoppy was still sleeping, although by this point, her location had changed to the floor of a different dungeon chamber, one occupied by a brave young hero. Yet, while the hero was too focused on more threatening enemies to bother with a sleeping, malformed goblin, his latest attack on his latest opponent would have greater repercussions for Zoppy than boy or goblin could have foreseen. After ricocheting off the ceiling, the hero’s thrown sword bounced across the chamber floor, before lightly landing on Zoppy’s sleeping form. The impact (such as it was) proved forceful enough to finally awaken the slumbering goblin, who gave voice to a happy squeal upon seeing the wooden weapon.

“Choppy fing!” she exclaimed, hastily grabbing the sword. Then she noticed the boy. “Hi! Hi!” she called, giving him a big, toothy smile. “Ya wanna choppy fing?!” she asked, before noticing the plushie next to her. “Or a lucky bird?! Zoppy’ll gib ‘em ta ya fer some shiniez!”

“True,” Violet conceded after Darya noted her concern. “But I am confident my own defensive measures shall be sufficient for dealing with any potential threats.” The pilot proceeded to mention that she would be pleased to acquiesce to any need of privacy on the CEO’s part, a need that presented itself a moment later, when someone knocked on the room’s door. Accessing the feed from the door’s security cam, Violet saw that it was her expected business associate. A prompt arrival, she noted approvingly as she removed her mask. “You may take your leave, now,” the heiress told Darya, before activating the door com and bidding her visitor, “Enter.”

Sitting upon the couch with back straight, legs crossed one over the other, and her folded hands resting atop them, Violet presented an image of refined composure, her stoic visage and piercing gaze providing ample evidence that she was someone who had no time for petty frivolities or playful banter, even if her guest had apparently decided to indulge in the extravagantly ostentatious attire worn by most of the other passengers. “Welcome, your highness,” she told the prince. “Please, take a seat,” she added, gesturing to the couch opposite the one she occupied. The heiress only hoped the whimsical nature of his outfit did not carry over to his personality.

To think we could have been hunting Miseria right about now…
-Nyxia Torrentia, Neon Tempest of the Ultraviolet Rainbow

Upon arriving at the intersection, Nyxia and Earthshaker were greeted with quite the chaotic scene. After taking the briefest of moments to make note of all the situation’s myriad facets, the Neon Tempest zeroed in on the most important item of note. The bitch with the arrows was directly in front of them, kneeling over the unconscious form of Apathy Incarnate, poised to plunge one of her heart tipped missiles directly into the rainbow-haired girl’s chest. Even if the weapon was supposedly incapable of dong physical harm, she had no idea what effects its emotional manipulation abilities might have on someone as emotionless as Tsubomi. Furthermore, the simple concept of the girl’s weapon made Nyxia want to vomit.

Thus, a split second after realizing what Topaz was planning to do, the Neon Tempest took careful aim and fired a hyper-focused, pencil-thin beam from The Omega Obliterator at the angelic girl’s raised hands, with the intent of slicing them off at the wrist. Roche would then be free to pummel her senseless. There was also the bat wielding girl and the girl with the frogs, but Nyxia was sure the other club members could deal with them. Her main concern was the mysterious presence that was growing increasingly nearer, and increasingly more powerful. She highly doubted the current clusterfuck would resolve itself before whatever it was arrived, but she at least wanted to be fully prepared to confront the potential threat. Thus, even as her crackling energy beam lanced out, Nyxia deployed her two hovering octahedral drones in order to respond to any new developments at a moment’s notice.

If at first you don’t succeed…
-Ashley Avenir

Ashley allowed herself to feel a small sense of accomplishment when she realized that her attack had succeeded in further damaging the mech, although that feeling was muted by the fact that the astoundingly durable machine still hadn’t been fully taken out of commission. She would need to hit it at least one more time, and the chances of her being able to do so were diminishing by the moment. Indeed, no sooner had the glow from her technomantic attach faded, then Behemoth!Elroy stepped down into the chamber and began crudely wrapping the crippled mech in an extra layer of armor taken directly from the magic resistant ceiling plating. Although Mika tried to make a strike before the cockpit viewport was sealed up, a mighty thrust from Finn’s Instrument prevented her from accomplishing anything, other than using up yet another of her valuable “get out of jail free cards”. At the very least, Raven had been able to disengage from Klava and subdue Cereza. But that still left them with few options for dealing with the primary threat. Looks like it’s up to me… Ashley reflected, her eyes narrowing as she focused on her target. Yet, if the Knight of Tomorrow was going to do something, she’d have to move fast.

Powering up yet another firing solution, Ashley darted toward the mech with all the speed her esper form could muster. The moment she set into motion, she called to Mika over her comm link. “Cerberus, you and Paradise keep watch over the twins. I’m gonna see if I can put this walking scrap heap down for good…”

While the behemoth was certainly a threat, Ashley knew that the mech, and its occupants, were the bigger danger. Once it had been taken out of action, she and, if needed, a transformed Binky could deal with the towering titan. Dashing between the crimson giant’s legs, the high-tech heroine slid to a stop beneath the damaged mech, where the extra magic resistant plating had yet to be applied, pointed her techno-wand up at the machine’s bulky body… Please let this be enough… And fired.

A picture iz wurth a dosand wurdz!
-Zoppy

Zoppy was awoken from her slumber by the sound of a loud voice welcoming her to… a dungeon? Slowly opening her groggy eyes, the small, emaciated goblin noticed an equally diminutive creature stumbling over to a nearby wall. Zoppy was vaguely aware of other creatures in the chamber with her, but the one that was moving and talking had captured her full attention, or rather, the crude illustration said creature had made on the nearby wall had.

“Zoppy likez yer drawin’!” the small goblin chirped as she scampered over to get a closer look (miraculously managing not to fall on her face, or crash into the wall, in the process). The image was absolutely fascinating to the dimwitted girl, although her attention was mainly drawn to the arrows pointing to the words “equipment” and “cool things”, sparking the first glimmers of an idea in her barely-there brain. She didn’t really understand much of what the babbling creature was saying, especially with the sound of her heart pounding in her ears from having run over so fast, but when she heard the creature’s request for introductions, she grinned a broad, excited smile filled with sharp, misshapen teeth.

“Zoppy’s name iz Zoppy!” she told the creature, whirling around to face her while holding out a badly deformed hand for a shake.

Unfortunately, she moved a bit too fast, and lost her barely-there-to-begin-with balance, sending the scrawny goblin crashing against the equally scrawny dungeon spirit.

“Wow… Yer really soft…” Zoppy murmured as she let her head sink into the creature’s fur. “You’d make a really… nice… pillow…” she added, before drifting off into a contented slumber, her meager supply of energy having been completely depleted.

“You are most welcome, my venerable friend,” Gaia told the ancient tree, giving voice to a stream of melodious laughter in response to his gleeful excitement.

Despite her earlier anguish, Connie also couldn’t help but giggle at the sight. “I-I’m so g-glad Mia w-was a-able to h-help you,” she told the giant tree. “A-And t-thanks so m-much for h-helping us,” she added, her mask forming a happy smile.

Then Alexander explained why he wanted to meet with The Guardian.

“I see…” Gaia replied, her emerald lips pursed in contemplation. The fact that someone wanted him to deliver a message and some other unknown item was mildly concerning, but the verdant maiden was thankful that Alex appreciated the need to maintain a degree of secrecy around the matter while they were still in Wonderland. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said of Lily, who decided to simply blurt out Kayli’s name, prompting an annoyed frown to mar the nymph-like girl’s otherwise lovely visage.

A moment later, Connie gave voice to a startled yelp as Mariette began whispering in her ear. The Portal Witch proceeded to convey a bunch of information the masked maiden and her companions already knew, or at least suspected (like the team at the factory having achieved their objective). When the bunny-eared girl had finished, Connie stammered out a shaky, “O-Okay…”

“Understood,” Gaia confirmed as well. Taking a look around, the the nymph-like young woman saw that Mayra had located the girl who’d been captured along with Alex, and since she appeared to be very much under the influence of Wonderland’s mind altering magic, it seemed prudent to let their draconic friend keep watch over her for the time being. After all, Lily only had one spare magic earring, and, unsurprisingly, chose to give it to Alex.

Connie cringed when the magical boy subsequently gave himself an impromptu piercing.

“U-Ummm… C-Couldn’t you h-have j-just p-pinned it t-to y-your c-clothes…?” the timid girl inquired, while nervously fidgeting with her hair. After all, that’s what she and Gaia had done.

Meanwhile, Chloe had vanished into the midst of her skeletal army, which, upon closer inspection, resembled pieces from a miniature game Gaia was somewhat familiar with brought to life. It was more than a little strange, yet, the equally strange mad scientist they’d met at the Christmas party had mentioned during one of her rambles that every fictional universe was real somewhere in the myriad multiverses, so perhaps it was only to be expected they'd cross paths with something like this sooner or later. In any event, the greater concern was Chloe’s continued loyalty as, if the dark magical girl was to turn against them, the Daughter of Mother Earth did not at all look forward to engaging in such a conflict…

By this point, Connie had remounted her rainbow unicorn and Lily had climbed aboard her re-summoned bike. Gaia herself was just about to mount her own steed, when the voice of the ancient tree caught her attention. Or, more accurately, it brought her attention to the plodding nature of his steps. Obviously, his lack of speed would be a major impairment, but the botanical beauty already had a solution for that. “May I have the honor of riding amidst your branches, my venerable friend?” she inquired of the great tree. Assuming she was permitted, once ensconced amidst the lush foliage, the verdant maiden would place a hand on one of the branches and send a surge of life energy flooding through the old tree, filling him with renewed vitality and greatly boosting his speed. “Mayra,” Gaia called down to dragon girl. “Seeing as how I have been granted an alternative mode of transport, you and your new friend can ride upon my unicorn, if you wish.”

Before MDP could get too close to her potential new friends, a mystical arrow arced overhead and landed in the midst of the cactus creatures. While the projectile didn’t hit any of the strange beings, it ended up causing all but one of them to flee in fright.

“Awww! It’s okie dokie, cactus wactus thingy wingies!” a visibly distraught MDP called out to the fleeing creatures. “Like, whoever whever shot that arrow warrow probably wobably just wanted to play fetchy wetchy with you!”

As it happened, Ronin also joined in with her attempts to befriend the cactus creatures, much to MDP’s delight. She was even more overjoyed a moment later, when their efforts bore fruit in the form of the last remaining cactus shuffling over to them. It was much smaller than the others and chattered in its own strange language as it brushed up against MDP’s legs, causing her to giggle even more than usual. “Tee Hee~! That tickle wickles~!” she squealed. “Aww~! You’re, like, super duper adorable worable~!” the whimsical girl told the creature with a big smile. “Yes you aresie~! Yes you aresie~! And, like, your prickly wicklies don’t hurty wurty at allsie wallsie~! (giggle!)”

Soon enough, the other cactus creatures returned and joined their smaller companion in cuddling the giggling Princess of Dreams, with one even jumping up and bouncing off her chest, much to the bubbly girl’s great amusement. “Like, do you wanna play taggy waggy~?!” she asked the strange creatures, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
