Calanon (& Brogach)

He watched her answer with a curiosity, his keen elven eyes seeing there was something else at work within her. He might have only imagined it, and decided it wasn't his business either. She then mentioned the Isles, and he wasn't too familiar with them either. The High Forest was so big, it was multiple nations unto itself. Brogach turned his great head her way and tilted his head as she asked her question. The Elf took no offense to it, however. Calanon even smiled at that.

"From what I'm told, I've got a bit of human in me." he said, then grabbed his Elk's reins and walked alongside Brogach with Gretchin. "I hear Elves are naturally good with a bow, but archery was a learned skill with me. Perhaps I learned it quicker than a man would, but I wouldn't exactly know." he said, gazing into the forest as he spoke. "The men I fought alongside did it in a different fashion. Their eyes moved differently when they try to aim." he shook his head, not being able to explain it. The intricacies of Elven vision were hard to verbalize.

Calanon had never been one for judgements or competition, and in the forest such things were trivial when trying to survive against Orcs and the like. Still, he felt a bit of silent weight as he traveled with this caravan. Things hidden, half whispered through body language. It was odd, but he was going to ignore it for now. He merely wanted to make friends. Brogach could use the company as well, and the thought of such a thing made him smile to himself.

"Why do you travel with us?" he asked, his tone light and not harsh nor an implied accusation. He'd always been blunt, never understanding why such questions were wrong. He'd answer in heartbeats to most anything. But he'd spent enough time around others to know such things might be seen as rude. "Forgive me if I pry. You don't need to answer."

@JbcoolThey're similar. Kinda a mix between them and Warcraft ones. Don't worry, I'll never let you guys fight an enemy (at least a common one) without adding them in the Lore on page 1. Right now the thing to do is hide or do something strategic.
They are really tall and lean, but strong. And will enjoy eating you.

To all Forest Fighters. I'll give you until Saturday night to post. Of course you don't have to since it won't go past your post time limit, however it will mean that you wouldn't have found a hiding spot and will be spotted by an unknown number of hungry Gnolls!

To my people at the fort, I'll post for y'all soon as well. However, after that post, I expect more frequent posts because it will require teamwork, or death.

I also might give Hobnob something small to do. Same with the Lord!

Rylen breathed in deeply, and out deeply. The mists of the valley they were in was somehow soothing despite still being one of the more off putting things about this strange new land he found himself in. The sky was beautiful he had to admit, with stars streaming across his entire field of vision. They blanketed the night in soft lights, and he was so enamored that he did not hear his friend Meldarion approaching.

"What did they do with the prisoner?" the Half breed asked, his dark eyes scanning the valley from the battlements, standing next to a startled Rylen. The crusader gave a smile at his jumpiness, and let out a breath. "The Lord is questioning him now, I believe. What information they could gather I wouldn't know. I didn't realize there was a bigger plan than simply 'advance' until we have conquered."

Meldarion said nothing at that. Rylen didn't expect him to either. They'd known each other for some years, and if you asked anyone back when they had met who was the older one, they would have said Meldarion. But the bastard Dragonslayer had a way about him where he seemed to keep his youth. Both of them now looked a few years short of thirty. Of course that and their uniforms were where the similarities ended. Rylen was a clear western man, with brown hair and blue eyes and thick facial hair (when he didn't shave). Meldarion was black haired and dark eyed, only needing to shave occasionally if at all, with Khaki colored skin.

"There is something about this night." Rylen said suddenly, his voice sounding much too loud when speaking through the calm of the evening. "I feel restless." Meldarion nodded. "Aye, I do as well. I feel like a ride." Rylen snorted at that. "Don't be daft, I'm not going out alone on horseback. Where would we go?"

His friend looked at him. "You don't need to come." he said, and simply walked away. The full blooded Westerner opened his mouth to speak, and then groaned and began to follow. Mel had never been one for many words. He probably used up most of his focus on his skills. It showed after all. It was why the Lords and Bishops had tolerated a half-heathen in their ranks, being the deadliest sword of Andred.
