So despite the Mandalorian references (can't wait for october), from your class choices I take it you aren't looking to be bounty hunters. I could be jumping the gun, but I'm wondering what jobs you want to pull off together.

"Very good," Kaiden and Micha said simultaneously, and Kaiden colored at the realization. Micha looked at him with scrutiny, but to Kaiden's relief the man didn't chastise him in front of the crew. The prince didn't even look Sabatine's way, not deigning to see any look she would give him. Instead he stood at attention just as he was trained to do, watching over the men he brought with them. Bushman and Harwen might bicker and cause trouble when off duty, but they concentrated like proper spacers when the time called for it. The monitor display showcased their ascent into the stratosphere and further up until the light blue of the sky turned dark and filled with stars. Even after traveling across planets himself, standing on the deck of a ship made it so he never felt such a sight could get old.

"It's amazing, isn't it sir?" Kaiden asked the Captain softly, his lips having curved into a smile.

"Yes indeed." Micha responded in a far less enchanted tone, clearing his throat. He seemed to be shaking but Kaiden took that as the ship's thrumming beneath the bridge. The Captain turned to him and blinked. "Lieutenant, I do believe I have it handled here for the moment. Go and check on the Bosun with Lieutenant Hickoring. The Bosun is your man, and you two should get to know one another now that you'll be serving together."

Kaiden's once bright face turned to stone somehow, without even changing a muscle. He paused for a moment, not certain if he should regale the Captain with their prior history right here upon the deck as the crew were adjusting the thruster levels and keeping an eye on the various UIs on their monitors. "Sir, I had thought my help on the deck would be welcomed."

"Are you suggesting I need it, Lieutenant?" The Captain retorted a bit too quickly. He looked nervous, which made him defensive likely. Kaiden learned such actions from Psychology 101 in his cadet years, but he didn't expect it from a Captain. Perhaps it was a test on his loyalty. The prince spun properly to present himself face to face with his superior, clapped his feet together and saluted with a practiced, fluid motion.

"My apologies. I'll leave you to it then, sir!"

Ok, as DK pointed out to me, we can have any mixture of classes so two mystics is acceptable!

Aspiring and Self-Published Authors & Writers

Self Publishing is extremely hard for me, because you need to do your own advertising and I do not have the capacity to go "Look at this amazing thing I did, now pay me!" I can hardly do that to one person, much less doing that to a dozen people a day like I know some self published authors do. I'm not criticizing them, mind. They should do what they need/want to do. It's just not something I'm good at, and I'm not claiming I'm that way out of humbleness either. Partially it is that, but it's also partially pride. I can't bring myself to beg, I guess, which is what I feel like I am doing when I do that.

But self publishing is more than just shilling your work, or it takes more to sell one than simply that. You need at least 3 things.

• You need a cover. Even if it is an ebook, you need a good cover to catch people.
• A good, gripping title.
• Research the market. If you can find the right market, you could more easily get sales. No one is looking for a 45,000 word stand-alone space opera except me. People tend to enjoy romance novels, children's books, horror novels. Anything past those, like Space Opera/Epic Fantasy/Grimdark Anything, they need to be in a certain word range. Epic Fantasy is usually above 90,000 words for instance. Almost no one buys a 50,000 word story of anything. It's too long for a novella and too short for a contemporary novel. The only time publishing a story like that would work is if you hire an agent, or make it something a large market would eat up like romance.

*Flips through pages* I can't tell if we can have two people being the same class. I'll likely make a soft rule that it's possible, though that will be a very squishy crew, particularly if the 3rd slot is speaker. Once Lauder pipes in we can better decide.

Now that we're all here...
You likely don't know one another (which is good because it helps you do your first job), but I've RPed with all of you extensively in the past. I've only tabletopped with Dragoknighte before, but as this is on the text forum it won't be too different on here than normal RPing. I honestly don't need a lot to work with so don't feel like you need to go above and beyond. 2-3 paragraphs per post is good for me, no need to be David Weber. That, and as long as each of you makes your character a character that I can somewhat believe, there won't be any problems! I will roll with my own dice as, despite my modship, I know jack-shit about forum rolling. If you don't own dice, I can roll for you or you can use a dice rolling site (there are plenty). Make your rolls and place the results in the bottom of your IC posts when you make any. If your ship needs a certain crew member, like a pilot for instance, don't worry I can easily add an NPC. The guidebook did advise just 2-4 players because you will be doing only certain jobs for certain play styles, which is why I decided on 3 players as a sweet spot.
I expect you guys to discuss who takes what role and what ship you get, etc. I cannot decide myself. I know both Drago and Lauder have expressed interest in a Mystic class, so you can see who gets that. As always you (or I) can roll for who gets what class. If you have any questions for me you can tag me here or DM me, but as of right now it's up to you three to decide the 3 choices you need to make...Class, Ship, Jobs.

But with some hard earned skills, a little bit of luck, and a lack of inhibition, you just might hit it big.
