Ezran noted each other gym leader that arrived after him, shooting a grin towards Malik as he felt the jostle to his shoulder and heard Minuet strum a brightly toned cord. "Good to see you," he clapped a hand on the other man's shoulder, "Nice to see that Isla can handle him." He chuckled lightly as she spun away from the cameras to make her way towards them. Liam, Nordrin, and Henrietta were the next batch to show up and he gave each of them an amiable greeting as they approached. The crowd only continued to get more and more riled up with the dramatic entrance of their resident dragon trainer and he couldn't say he was surprised when Fiona let some of her own team show off a bit. He wasn't sure if he was grateful or not that his team tended to stay mostly on the ground, but the crowd certainly seemed to enjoy it. The Chairman couldn't say they weren't doing a great job making of a show of everything as he usually requested.

As the chairman's assistant urged them into the locker room he followed Hestia's lead and pulled Minuet into her pokeball, much to her chagrin as it shuddered unhappily, before following the rest inside and making quick work of leaving his guitar in a safe place and preparing for the din that would be the inside of the stadium. He gave Zeke a thumbs up as the minor league leaders made their way to the seats on the side of the pitch. He was accustomed to large crowds at this point given both of his professions, and he looked forward to making this ceremony a big one, especially since they were missing both one of their own and the champion. Whatever, they'd make do.

And make do they did. The crowds were as excited as he'd ever seen them and the challengers seemed determined. The hollers of Zeke's Loudred also seemed to inspire at least some of the number on the field. The ceremony reminded him of plenty of his shows, the noise levels were certainly the same, and he reveled in the screams and chants of the crowd as each of them were introduced. It was honestly a miracle they all hadn't gone deaf doing this each and every year. He couldn't wait to get back into the swing of things for the challenge season though. His team wasn't necessarily getting rusty but they were lazing around much more than he would like. Maybe the ceremony would remind them what they were meant to do.

Once they all gathered back together outside the field he freed Minuet from her pokeball once again. As she appeared in a flash of red light she crossed her arms and Ezran couldn't help but roll his eyes. "Don't look at me like that. It wasn't even that long," he poked her shoulder as she let out an annoyed huff, "You're just upset you missed the crowds." The Toxtricity turned around and wandered away from the rest of them and he threw up his hands in exasperation as the Chairman walked out to join them.

So even he didn't know where Victoria was, but if he thought it was fine then they didn't need to worry. Not yet anyway. He nodded in agreement with Nordrin in regards to keeping them updated.

"I am definitely not opposed to food and a drink," he jerked a thumb over his shoulder at Minuet who was still trying her level best to act upset, "Maybe she'll lighten up along with the lot of you." He turned his attention briefly to Nordrin, "I trust your judgement." He wasn't going to be picky as long as the food was decently good and knowing the chef it would be at least that.

Eclipse felt his heart rate increase as he stared at where their claws were intertwined between them before he looked back at Dreamseeker. He could feel a calming warmth from the tips of his claws to the edges of his wings; similar to getting a hug from Skua or his parents, but not quite the same. He nearly missed the first words Dreamseeker said as she looked up towards the canopy above them. Tell the truth? he wasn't sure he liked where this conversation was going but squeezed her claws in a way he hoped was reassuring without actually needing to say anything.

As she began her explanation Eclipse felt his brow furrow in confusion. This was definitely not what he was expecting, what does that have to do with anything? He could see the faint tremors in the smaller dragon's limbs and felt fear and concern rear their ugly heads once again as he tried to remember anything that his mother had told him about the NightWings and full moons. Mind reading and seeing the future. He made the connection just as she said it out loud and felt his whole body freeze.

His mind was reeling as he tried to remember if he'd thought anything particularly embarrassing or damning in the time since he'd met her. He had no idea. All could could really think was that Skua would be livid if he found out, but he also wasn't sure it was a secret he could keep from the other hybrid. They were practically brothers and told each other everything. He heard the quaver in Dreamseeker's voice and realized he wasn't angry. Confused and maybe a little hurt that she didn't tell him sooner, but not angry. It made some things make a lot more sense. Like how she knew what Jaguar liked to eat.

He squeezed her claws again as he reined in his thoughts, now hyper aware of the fact that they might not be private, "I'm not angry. It's a lot to take in and, uh, I definitely need to process it, but I'm not going to make you leave." He took a deep breath and used the grip he had on her claws to pull her into a tight hug and wrap his wings around her smaller form. "My mother told me stories, but to be honest I never thought they were true. I'm not sure the others will be as understanding, but I'm not going to let them force you away."

Eclipse watched as Dreamseeker followed him, looking like she'd rather be anywhere else. He frowned, she certainly didn't look fine, but he didn't want to pry into anything that she didn't want to talk about. He felt his concern spike at her request and even more so as she ducked her head down to where he nose was almost touching the dirt. What could she possibly have to tell him that would bring about this kind of reaction? Sure Dreamseeker was always the quietest of the bunch, but even in the short time they'd known each other he didn't think he'd ever seen her this nervous and unsure.

He took a few steps forward and closed the small gap that was still between them before ducking his head down and pressing his own snout against hers. "I won't get angry," he gave her a small, but reassuring smile, "I promise." He was still worried about what she had to say, whatever it was seemed like it might be bad, but he didn't think he'd be able to be angry with her. Not after everything they'd already been through.

Ace watched as more and more new recruits filed in. There were quite a few and he felt excitement prickling across his fur at the prospect of getting to know them. He was usually too busy taking care of the house and his sister while his father was away to make many friends around the city, so this would be a new experience for him. Hopefully a good one.

As everyone filed in, and picked up some of the baked goods the Buneary had brought in, there was a small amount of conversation. Mostly muffled thank yous until a much deeper voice dragged his attention to the massive Arcanine that had stepped into the room. He could feel his eyes widen at the crisscrossing scars all across the thick fur of Scorch. He knew adventuring wasn't easy, but it looked like he'd had it rougher than any of the other guild members he'd ever seen.

His eyes went from wide to narrowed slits at the remarks their new leader made. So what if they were young; he wasn't about to let them be insulted because of it. It seemed like several of the others around him had similar ideas, some just expressed a bit more politely than others. He couldn't say he didn't agree with the snappish remarks of the Litten, but why did Fae even let them in if they weren't what Scorch wanted.

He appreciated everyone immediately standing up for themselves and stood up from where he was sitting off to the side to position himself next to the Chimchar who had just spoken up; nodding in agreement with his assessment. "He's right. We're all here because we want to be, not because we have to. None of us would have shown up if we weren't willing to put in the effort." His tail twitched slightly in annoyance as he clenched his jaw and stared up at Scorch just waiting to see if he'd try and kick them out.

Duskwing tucked her paws underneath her chest as Moosepaw expressed his concerns, "It's understandable to be nervous. I know I was when I first came to camp and stood in front of Fernstar for my warrior name." She was a loner with no one else to look after her when she first stumbled across Willowclan and it had changed her life for the better. She knew Moosepaw would succeed and could be one of the best warriors the clan had; he just needed to believe that for himself. "You've become an adept hunter and a successful fighter," she purred warmly, "I don't think there's much else I could teach you. Besides, we'll still be able to go on patrol together and I can train even if you've got your warrior name. I doubt Fernstar would complain."

She purred warmly at his final comment. "That's what'll make you a good warrior Moosepaw. You care for the clan as much as any of us and that's what we need." He had learned everything she could teach him, now it was just up to him to take care of the final assessment. She had no doubt he would pass with flying colors once he was in the thick of it. "You'll do just fine. You caught probably half the prey on the pile right now and gave me a beating in training. Just make sure you get some rest beforehand."

Stormheart let out a warm purr at Honeypaw's enthusiasm, "I'm sure you will, and you've got a great mentor to show you the ropes." They were lucky that, even with their newly formed clan, to have cats that were so determined and enthusiastic about protecting and serving it. If Starclan didn't give Fernstar her nine lives after everything she'd done to keep them all together and safe without them, they were making a big mistake. He didn't even want to consider the thought that Fernstar might come back just the same, but even if she did she'd still be their leader. He didn't care what Starclan thought; she was their leader no matter what.

He blinked in surprise at her question and twitched his whiskers as he settled further into the snow, "Hmm, I think for about 8 or so moons now. I didn't come to the clan as a kit like you did, so I was given my warrior name when I arrived." He chuckled slightly as he remembered his life before Willowclan: comfortable, easy, and incredibly boring. "I used to live in a barn actually with a bunch of big, weird animals called horses, and as many mice as you could possibly imagine." He could remember the two-legs coming in every so often to give him food, but other than that they mostly left him alone. "One day I just decided to go into the woods and see where my paws took me and they brought me here to Fernstar and the rest of the clan."

"You'll be a warrior in no time at all. Spidernose won't know what to do with all that boundless energy." He flicked her gently with his tail and gave he a warm blink, "You'll do better than I did when I had to prove myself. I tripped over my own paws and scared off all the prey in the forest."

Ezran let out a huff of annoyance as he attempted to tune his guitar for about the third time that day, and the din of the city was certainly not helping. He had perched himself up on the back of a bench off to the side of one of the major streets; a little bit out of the way of the crowds of people that were making their way towards the Motostoke stadium. He had his headphones resting around his neck and his trademark jacket dropped on the bench next him. Minuet let out a staticky chuckle from where she was standing next to him; the yellow mohawk fluctuating and crackling. "Oh be quiet you," he grumbled towards her, "Like you could do any better. You've only got three fingers." The snickering stopped.

He finally strummed through a few cords and let out a hum of approval at the sound. He let muscle memory take over and plucked out a familiar tune as his eyes scanned the dark skies above that were littered with twinkling stars. He thought he may have seen a large shape pass in front of some of them, but it was difficult to tell with the other lights that shined through the large and industrial city. He grew up in Hammerlocke so he was familiar with the, occasional lack of light that came with city living. He kept his tunes quiet enough that they wouldn't draw too much attention. He, of course, never had a problem with being in the spotlight, he preferred it most of the time, but he knew he'd be much more in the public eye after the season started. He'd take all the alone time he could get.

He heard a sudden ramp up in volume from the crowd as a very quick series of a bellowing roar and the distinctive shouts of what he was pretty sure was a Loudred. "Sounds like some of the others have finally showed up." he flashed a grin towards Minuet who trilled happily in response. He pulled the case up for his guitar and laid it inside before hopping off the bench, throwing on his jacket and slinging the case over his shoulder. "Better not keep them waiting yeah?"

He jogged easily through the streets of Motostoke, with Minuet on his heels, giving a wave or short greeting to anyone who called out to him as either a gym leader or if they knew him from his music. He paused a few times to sign an autograph or take a photo, but ultimately made it to the stadium in good time. It was as he always remembered it, lit up as a beacon in the city and surrounded by press and fans. He could hear shouts and jeers coming from the crowd from both people and Pokemon, but that was to be expected. He took the opportunity to begin his ascent up the stairs, hoping to get through without too much attention, but Minuet, of course, had other ideas.

As they reached the top of the stairs she tilted her head back and let out a half-powered Boomburst and strummed out a loud cord; the yellow electricity around her head flaring up. Ezran let out a faint sigh as attentions immediately turned to him. He let a grin light up his face as he waved to both the press and fans as he slowly made his way through the swarm of people to where he could now see both Zeke and Isla in front of the camera, he couldn't hear what was being said over the calls from the crowd, but knowing Zeke probably some kind of jeering remark. He walked past the press to where Fiona and Hestia stood, Minuet a half step behind him, with an easy grin on his face and hands shoved into his pockets.

"How's it goin'?" he queried towards the two, "I see Zeke is getting an early start to the night." He glanced back towards the two as the hollers started up again, "Can't give any of us a break, honestly." He could see Hestia's Charizard standing behind her, an imposing sight to say the least, and Fiona appeared to be sporting a new addition on one shoulder. it's been a while since they'd all really seen each other, and he was interested in what news they had to share, but that could all wait until after the whole lot of them showed up.

Duskwing dipped her head to Fernstar, "I'll do it first thing in the morning. Be safe Fernstar." She watched as the other she-cat walked off towards where Spidernose and Honeypaw were watching the entrance to camp and the search patrol for Maplestream was getting ready to depart. She'd make sure to wish them luck before she went to bed. It had been a long day for the whole clan and they needed good news of both Starclan and Maplestream's safety.

She trotted over towards where Moosepaw was sitting just as their newly appointed Deputy, Stonefall, passed by her. She gave him a respectful nod as he passed by. She'd also have to make sure to congratulate him on his new position. The well-built tom was a good fit for Deputy. He had the kindness to care for the clan but enough of a forceful nature to make sure that everything got done when it needed to. His loyalty to Fernstar matched her own and that was certainly something she could respect.

She bumped her shoulder against Moosepaw as she got closer before settling down next to her apprentice, for what would likely be one of the last times. It was a bittersweet thought. She would miss getting to train the intelligent young tom, but she knew he would make a proud and capable warrior and Willowclan needed all the warriors it could get. "Saw you talking to Stonefall. Not giving me a bad report I hope." She flicked her tail across his ears, "Your assessment is going to be tomorrow morning bright and early. If all goes well you'll be the first warrior in Willowclan appointed by a Starclan approved leader, but don't think that makes you better than the rest of us."

Stormheart followed after the other members of the patrol as they approached the entrance to camp. He was starting to feel his usual, and problematic nerves, prickling across his pelt and making him sink his claws into the ground to steady himself as they stood and waited for Blackpelt and Fernstar. He trusted his clanmates one-hundred percent and knew that they, and himself, wouldn't give up until Maplestream had been found or all of their paws fell off due to the frigid snow. He was more grateful than ever for his thick, silver pelt that both protected him and let him blend in better.

He settled off to the side of the entrance to wait until everyone was ready. Sharp yellow eyes tracking the movements of all of his clanmates. He gave Honeypaw a warm smile as she and Spidernose placed themselves on either side of the entrance, and a nod to Fernstar as she approached, spoke briefly to Honeypaw, and slipped out of camp. He could tell the young she-cat was nervous with all of the larger warriors around, even Stonefall who was probably one of the most approachable cats in the clan due to his kind demeanor. As Stonefall turned his attention towards Spidernose he shifted slightly and looked towards Honeypaw, "Quite the job for a newly appointed apprentice," he meowed softly, "I'm glad to see we're leaving camp in such capable paws."

He kept an eye out across camp for Blackpelt and Sunfur who would be joining them on the patrol. He didn't see either of the toms yet, but he figured they'd be on their way soon. "You're doing more now than I think I've done in all the moons I've been alive," he chuckled slightly, "We're lucky to have such a dedicated clanmate."

Eclipse gave Skua an appreciative smile at his approval. He knew could always count on the other hybrid to support him, but he also knew that Skua wouldn't hesitate to strike down or change a plan that he thought wasn't up to snuff. He felt himself yawning as Skua did and looked up past the trees that lined the small clearing at the edge of the forest to the sky, trying to gauge where the moon was in the sky. All he knew was that it was late and they'd had a long day of flying. They'd need to be at full attention traversing the forest and dealing with the RainWings. Better safe than sorry.

He glanced over towards Jaguar as Skua questioned her. Those are weird names. Who names their dragonet Handsome of all things; at least Jaguar sounds cool. His thoughts were apparently shared by the other of their newest additions as Aardwolf snorted in amusement.

"You RainWings have some odd names. A bit self-absorbed don't you think?" The SandWing chuckled slightly as he settled down and propped his head up on his claws, "Good information though. We'll keep an eye out."

Eclipse grinned a bit at Aardwolf and just shrugged in response to Skua's look. "We don't have any idea about what to expect from the RainWings, so I'll take whatever we can get honestly." He went to settle in for the night when Skua's attention drifted to Dreamseeker. She'd been fairly quiet and nervous through all of this and Eclipse couldn't say he wasn't at least somewhat concerned. She was probably the most sensitive out of all of them, as far as he could tell, and none of this was easy.

At her request to speak to him, alone, his eyes widened and snapped to Skua for a brief moment. He never knew what to expect from anyone when they wanted to talk alone, especially not Dreamseeker. He could feel sparking nerves crawling across his scales and he shuffled his wings, "Sure," he swept his eyes across camp for a second before turning and trotting a small ways into the forest. Not far enough to be dangerous, but enough that they were out of earshot from the others. He worked through his racing thoughts of what she might have to say. Did she want to leave or know something more than she was saying? Was it something about them? He pushed all the what ifs to the back of his mind and turned towards her, "Everything ok? You've seemed a bit uncomfortable with all of this."
I’m studying for exams but I’ll also work on getting a post out soon!
