I started RP before double digit age but you couldn't have gotten an admission I was under 18 under threat of death. Kids just casually admiting it online now is wild.

Good news, they found Lew's dumb ass finally. Better news, they were in an area that Amulak could take advantage of, what with all the corpses ripe for necromancing and whatnot.

Bad news, the guy was just sitting there. Menacingly. Was Lew going to be a non-moron and just come back with them? Or was he going to reveal the depths of whatever new obsession or larp he had now and try to pull some shit?

Amulak simply nodded in response to Raime, starting to step forward at his question.

"I will tag along. Want to see what stupid shit Lew is doing this time, yes? Besides, I have advantage here. Many corpses to use."

Purging the darkness for the sake of his goddess...? Yeah, fuck it, that sounded like Lew anyways. Roll with it. Amulak shrugged with the unaffected nature of someone who hadn't just come close to getting his shit kicked in hard. Well, harder than it had already been. He'd been handed worse defeats in his pro gaming career. Outside of his last match, there was the time he'd shown up to IEM Katowice hung over as hell after partying hard the night before and threw a perfectly winnable match against that dickhead Canadian about six years back. Man, had that been a shitshow.

"Information is very helpful, thank you. That is probably dumbass we are searching for. Don't suppose you can point us in direction of underground village?

In truth, Jin-Sun hadn't been around to witness the first few days of the world's reaction. After they'd landed back in Japan, Jin-Sun had immediately shipped himself off for repairs to his cyborg chassis, considering the damage he'd suffered from fighting Thremont and removing his safety limiters. With Iphie's permission, he and Anfisa had gone over the cyborg research retrieved from Heavyware, copying the Liquid Aurorum muscle fuel that had been used into his systems. Even with Anfisa's expertise, there hadn't been much time to copy the system besides using it to give Jin-Sun a temporary boost whenever it was activated. And there was the matter of reconstructing his sword that Runa had somehow broken. Fortunately, the blueprints to his sword had been in Heavyware's servers, and reconstructing it was only a matter of using enough Aurorum.

Once he was finished with being repaired and upgraded, Jin-Sun took full advantage of his hologram projector to completely dodge the media, allowing him to go through Shanhu without being noticed. He wasn't exactly comfortable with all this media attention, especially considering he was mainly a stealth specialist. Still, he leveraged his fame for a single interview in which he emphasized the amount of innocents Heavyware had kidnapped and experimented on, calling attention to the need to find these people and aid them. If he was going to be famous regardless, he might as well make use of it.

Without anything resembling a 9-to-5 job or schooling to deal with, Jin-Sun largely spent his time off watching wrestling and having to explain to his friends and family from his old life exactly what had happened to him after he'd signed up to be a PMC, considering Heavyware had listed him as KIA after they'd taken him in for experimentation.

He hadn't thought this through.

In the years since he'd broken out, he'd never tried to contact his parents or his previously close friends out of fear that Heavyware would have found out and tracked them down. Meeting his parents again had been...awkward. Still, at least he'd departed on relatively good terms, explaining exactly what had happened to him and why he'd never gotten in contact.

It had been a relaxing few weeks ever since. Considering he'd never hung around the old penthouse that much, the move to what was now dubbed Fort Five wasn't particularly jarring for him. It certainly beat the apartment he'd been using before John had recruited him. But now he was comfortably set up within headquarters.

Jin-Sun sat at the dining table, listening to John's briefing as he mixed instant coffee into his chocolate-flavored protein shake. After the informant finished, the cyborg ninja calmly sipped his ad-hoc mocaccino protein through a straw, thinking the situation over. All of the potential hires sounded like useful and much welcomed additions to the team, so he didn't particularly have a problem there. As for the leads...

"It'll be good to get back into action." Jin-Sun grunted as he reached for the folder, starting to flip through it. "One more person shows up asking me for another interview, I'm going off-grid for a few weeks. Anyways, all the potential hires sound good, although I wouldn't mind talking with your supply chain candidate when she comes in. Could use a few upgrades on my equipment."

Oh. Oh, shit. This was a player they were attacking? And one clearly noticably higher level than them. Crap. That's awkward. Thankfully, whoever this was didn't seem particularly bothered, nor did he take it too personally. Probably because they were so much weaker than the guy.

Yeah, no. He wasn't continuing on with this if they had the option to end it here. If there was nothing else to be done for the day, he'd be all for trying his luck against this dude for shits and giggles, but they still had a dumbass to find. Amulak groaned slightly as he extricated himself from the wall he was hurled through, raising both his hands in a concillatory gesture.

"Our bad, our bad." He coughed, still working through the pain. "Like he say, we thought you were mini-boss or some shit local to area. If we were not already on task, I would want to keep going, can only learn PvP by doing. But we are looking for dipshit friend of ours. Don't suppose you have seen someone around here horny for snake ladies?"

"Oh fu-" Was all Amulak could get out after his shields fell and the fucker attacking him just kept going.

"Ow." He groaned as he reeled from being slammed into the wall, the loud asswipe's hand still on his throat. Amulak narrowed his eyes as he collected himself, trying to formulate a way out of his situation. That entire sequence of events had taken out about a third of his HP so far, and that was with one of the hits mostly blunted. Fuck him, he really needed to invest in some hybrid shit later. Or find corpses. God damn, he really needed to find something to make Weisshaupt worth using.

"Hands off, dickhead." Amulak rasped through the grip on his throat, using his words to form an incantation and fire off a Mana Bolt juiced up with both Mana Control and Adept of Curse. Twice, with Parallel Incantation. Pew, pew.

What the hell? He spoke? And like a hypebeast, too. Jeez. Those were still around? Alright, sure. He could roll with this. What sucked, though, was how the fighter just dodged and rendered the mana he'd expended completely worthless. Great. What sucked more was how he was about to get his legs chopped. Crap.

At the speed the fucker was going, there was no time to get a six-word incantation out to bind him with Seeker Chains. Only one recourse left, and it was the one he didn't like.

"Shit!" Amulak cursed, conveniently providing the one-word incantation necessary to cast a Mana Shield. Buffed with Mana Control and doublecasted with Parallel Incantation, two slightly pumped-up Mana Shields materialized around Amulak's form just before the shadowy fighter's axe made contact, hopefully providing enough of a buffer to not get his legs hacked off.

Oof. Big guy, huh? Amulak eyed the axe the shadowy fighter was holding before brandishing his staff in response, making sure the meat shields of the group were in front of him.

"This is probably either mini-boss or elite mob. Other mobs in Thundering Caves so far not huge pain in asshole for our level. Basically, don't be idiot." He murmured aside to the others, taking a moment to determine his game plan.

Well, if the others weren't going, someone would have to make a move. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And hell, if this guy was just going to give him a free shot, he might as well take it. A shame there weren't any fresh corpses around for him to use, but, well, that's what this one was for in a bit. Hopefully, at least.

Amulak started chanting, queuing up a spell. Using Parallel Incantation, he conjured up two Mana Boosted Spell Spears at once and sent them both crashing down onto the axeman. God, did he love having a double cast. Once he got some corpses, this mechanic held some promise.

If nothing else, the environment was even somewhat comfortable. He didn't know why, the place seemed like it was straight out of a horror flick. Maybe it was just a side effect of his new class. Or maybe Amulak was just a little loopy in the head. Who knew? It wasn't like being a pro gamer for years on end was exactly good for his mental health. Oh, well, who gave a shit? He had online games to play and dumbasses to find.

"Nuke option sound good, but only if we find trouble first. Could be jack shit in radius and you blow load for nothing. Would be real shame-" Amulak's response to Raime was cut off by Mags just deciding to reveal their location to absolutely fucking everything around them. Holy shit.

"Mags, what the fuck wrong with you?" He hissed, one hand gripping his staff tightly. "You are screaming 'Here we are, please fuck us in ass!', yes? Very helpful."
Amulak al Acturus (Stanislaw)
HP:1030/1030 MP:1475/1490 SP:336/336

He couldn't believe that shit actually worked. Somehow, he'd managed to hit whatever was pulling him and not get dragged down into the erupting magma chamber. Amulak collapsed onto the ground the moment they'd reached safety, just laying there and letting the virtual sweat drip off of him. God, he really hoped he wasn't sweating in real life right now. The other thing he hoped for was an ice-cold beer. Or hell, any cold liquid. But there wasn't anything besides rank cave water.

After a few moments to recover, Amulak briefly took note of what seemed to be spider silk hanging off his leg. So that was what was pulling him down. Made sense, at least. He took a second to remove what remained of the silk from his pant leg, holding it up for the rest of the group to see.

"Did snake girl turn into spider girl when I not been looking? Volcano lamia already bullshit, now there is volcano spider? When we find Lew, we kick him in dick and buy him subscription to regular porn, yeah? Or at least some kind of fetish porn that not involve us saving his ass from monster girls again."

It had to be said: climbing while wearing robes and a heavy chestplate sucked. And it shouldn't even be this difficult in the first place. With the amount of physical fitness granted to him by his stats, Amulak somehow knew he shouldn't be struggling as hard as he was, even with his equipment load.

And then he felt something pulling at his ankle.

"Oh fu-" Was all Amulak could get out before his curse turned into a scream as he was pulled down. Thankfully, Klein was there to break his fall, but whatever the hell was pulling at his ankle was only getting stronger. Even as the mountain man was making the suggestion to cut whatever was pulling him loose, Amulak was already preparing a Spirit Divider.

"Not work, drop my ass!" He pulled double duty, turning the suggestion to Klein into his spell incantation. Amulak swung the Spirit Divider directly below his foot being pulled down, hoping to catch whatever was pulling at him at slice it off.
