idk man they're not really assuming anything? It's a personal status and not anything towards you. If it doesn't resonate with you, it's pretty easy to just scroll past it.

Well yes more so yourself than anyone else lol. Can't really control circumstances outside yourself anyhow. Sometimes I just forget.

👋 Oh hi there <3
Welcome to my little corner of the guild! I go by Qia or Weasel. Either is equally valid. I've been roleplaying since my early college years, primarily across Tumblr (currently inactive) and right here. Storytelling is one of my favourite creative outlets, and I have a particular fondness for digging into the psychology behind every character I build which is also, admittedly, the most practical application of my degree to date. Whoops? ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭
📖 The Writing Stuff
What I love
Thrillers & horror
Mythology
The magical & supernatural
Modern & futuristic settings
My take on romance
I tend to prefer romance as a subplot, so pretty much something that adds depth and texture to the story rather than driving it. If you find me gravitating toward slow-burn dynamics that build gradually over time, that's exactly why. I like relationships that truly earn their moments.
That said, while I'm open to exploring darker themes, I'm not interested in writing explicit content. A tasteful fade-to-black with a solid lead-up? Absolutely. Anything beyond that is not for me, thanks.
How I write and what I expect
My writing style tends toward the mature/advanced end of the spectrum, or so I've been told! That said, I don't expect others to match me. Writing is a skill like any other. It grows with practice and time. As long as I can follow your character's voice and understand their motivations within the story, we're absolutely golden.
I'm most comfortable writing female characters, though I can write male characters with some extra effort. (Okay...a lot of extra effort. It's a work in progress (⌒_⌒;) )
📌 A Few Important Notes
◈ I'm in my early 30s and strongly prefer that any writing partners be close to my age.
◈ As for 1x1 partners, I'm open to it, though I'm not actively searching. It really comes down to familiarity with you and your writing, and whether there's something that genuinely interests us both. If that sounds like it could be you, feel free to reach out!
◈ Curious about my writing style or the characters I play? Feel free to browse the roleplays listed in my signature.

Oh, I'm sorry. I actually did start an app for this, but I hesitated because I might be going back to work soon and I don't wanna spread myself too thin. So, to be safe, I'll have to say no :(.
@MooseIsLoose Also welcome to the forum ^^ I'm pretty new myself but I can already tell that I'm among a welcoming and friendly bunch. So take your time and have no fear.
Other names: Layna, Little Firefly, Convict (only used by a select few)
Gender / Preferred Pronouns: She/Her
Age: 17
Birthday: March 17th
Sexuality: Demisexual
Appearance: Standing 5'4" tall with a slim waist, this young fair-skinned girl has a slightly intimidating feel about her because of the serious expression she usually has her face set in. The large burn scar situated on her left arm she'd gotten after a spell gone badly probably does not help with this first impression, either. Much like her light blonde hair and light brown eyes, however, she's a bit softer than one would think. She usually keeps her medium-length, fine hair in a messy bun at the top of her head so it doesn't get in her way, and her long arms are often left uncovered in all the floral cami dresses she tends to wear.
Personality: Alayna comes across as aloof to most, if not all, that happens to run into her. If anyone took the time to get to know her, however, they would realize that it is merely a self-defense mechanism as a result of her family's position within the coven. In reality, she has a pretty dry sense of humor and a drive for her life as a witch, coming up with little spells of her own in her spare time. She literally and figuratively enjoys playing with fire, as fire spells are her favorite to do along with a heavy need to always have her curiosity satisfied.
Biography: Although the Castellano's have belonged to the Sisters for a long time, their roots could be traced to another coven. Perhaps this was why they were never wholly trusted by many still, especially when one considered the circumstances of their coven's downfall. It wasn't every day that a coven fell, so when theirs had there were understandably many questions that needed answers. It was too bad no one seemed able to remember the exact circumstances of the event. It was almost like they'd been put under a powerful curse. Yet, they could not be left behind unable to protect themselves, so were permitted to stay close by.
It had taken some time for Alayna's ancestors to gain the trust of those higher up. They'd done everything they could, obeyed every command given no matter the risk, despite having lost so much already. They were willing to lose more. Finally, with the formation of familial links within the coven itself, their first member was welcomed in, and then another and another. Eventually, Alayna herself was born.
Still, some within the coven refused to let sleeping dogs lie. Little comments made here and there to Alayna, never in earshot of those who would swiftly put a stop to them. From "It must have been one of your own that destroyed your coven" to "why is "the convict" allowed to walk around so freely, anyway?". And, at first, she would pay them no mind. Drowning herself in the river of the past was not going to do anything for her present or future. So why bother?
Curiosity had always been her fatal flaw, however, even as a child. So, into the past she swam, going to the oldest of her family (her great-grandmother) with all of the same questions she'd been asked by her peers. To say that she was surprised by what she was told would be an understatement.
Why would the elders allow her family to remain here for so long knowing it had been one of her very own responsible for their displacement? She had yet to discover the answer.
Notable Rumors: It has been said that she and her family are planning an uprising, which is ridiculous considering they don't have the power to on their own. She's also unintentionally developed the reputation of being a loner
Greatest Fear: She has this secret fear of insects like bees and wasps, as she was stung by one as a child on her cheek.
Magic: Alayna loves to experiment with elemental magic and over time has become very good at it, especially fire. There's just something about watching flames dance and twirl before her, scorching the earth along its natural path of destruction. The girl sucks at anything dealing with potion-making, though. She just doesn't have the patience for it that's required sometimes.

I'm checking out a few roleplays in the casual section, since advanced seems a bit more time demanding than what I'm looking for. I'm very much into the Scifi and Fantasy genre. Perhaps even Thriller as well.
This looks really interesting. Are you accepting more applicants or do you have enough? I was also wondering since there are so many female characters, whether my own should be male or female. Or is it going to be mostly female it seems? Edit: Oh I'm silly. I just noticed the big blue Apply button at the top.
I'm obviously new here lol but I've done a good bit of rping throughout my life so it's not new for me. The one good thing about this quarantine is that it's given me the time to get back into my writing, in more ways than just rping. So I'm excited and can't wait to meet other writers here :).
