Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

I have decided, on the balance of things, that playing Blanche would be troublesome. There's not enough for all the character to do right now anyhow, so...

  • Name: Ryuuko
  • Age: Depending on how you look at it, she's either inhumanly old, or she's been around for about an afternoon. It's hard to pin down an exact number for how long she's been alive, as space itself doesn't have much in the way of handy reference points.
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Dragon. One of reality's handy protectors, whose fundamental basis is incomprehensible to everyone from Earth. She doesn't hold it against them, it's not their fault that they're made of so boring matter rather than the true stuff of stars.
  • Appearance: Claws, talons, a pretty dress, and a nice ribbon.
  • Personality: Ryuuko is pleasant enough to be around but lacks social awareness due to... well, never having actually socialised before. Coupled with rather a large amount of inquisitiveness at being somewhere other than space (and it has people with similar anatomy, too!) and a lot of problems lie ahead without some sort of escort. The police have managed to impress one thing upon her, though: violence is the wrong thing to do. Even if you're a dragon capable of eradicating eldritch monstrosities.
    She's also scared of dogs and astronauts.
  • Abilities: As a dragon, she has the standard dragon stuff: incredibly destructive breath damage, a certain disregard for the normal restrictions of gravity, enough physical might to actually stand a chance against anything that might want to wrestle the universe into explosion, and a level of resilience that would cost Miura a lot of buildings if a serious attempt to kill her was made. She also learns languages extremely quickly.
  • Skills: Nope.
  • Equipment: None.
  • Brief Backstory: Some time in the distant, forgotten past--or at least distant as experienced by a dragon floating in the void--Ryuuko came into being. She drifted around without a pretty clear destination--space is big, after all--and often tuned out of her surroundings or slept. Maybe in the floating she actually served her purpose and crushed something that threatened reality itself; Ryuuko has no real idea what was going on whilst she was amongst the stars.
    Then she fell to Earth with a rather frightful bang. At least, it was for the imaginary district's police and, after dusting her off, pulling her out of the kennels, and getting some clothes, they decided to ask around for people willing to show a dragon the modern world. Unfortunately, the Miura Youth Organisation is a bit busy, today...
I'd think maybe just Vocab, since Natsu has posted since we got to this spot. xD
@Raineh Daze *shrugs* Its really not that big of a difference. I just changed vancian magic. which is ridiculous

Edit: honestly that is what my players said and turns out they actually enjoyed the changes.

No Vancian magic? D:
@Rin@Raineh Daze Ive heavily modified my 3.5 games to be honest. Pathfinder helped and then my own tinkering and a few youtube videos have gotten it to a much more RP facilitating point in my opinion

I'd... never want to play with you then, honestly. I don't have the patience to learn so many house rules it might as well be a new game, and nor do I have any faith in people to not screw it up even more. >_>;
Hey, if we want examples of random crap, I can bring out my characters from other things in the setting.

... the alchemist-turned-mage is a fun one for just how off-kilter magic can go with a sufficiently stubborn person. xD
No one talked to him before hand so he's not really allied with the party. and even if he recognized the Iron Rose name haven't they long since drifted away from being a religious order? they'd just be any other group of knights to him.

point is he doesn't care right now, he's not out to get you but he's not going to ensure your safety either. And if it means destroying his target he'll go through you.

It kinda seems aligned with how reonite paladins are in this universe, highly aggressive and out to destroy evil, he's just on the extreme end of that.

...at least, I think

... their most prominent surviving knight is a Paladin of Mayon. They enjoy good relations with both the crown and the church. I'm not sure how you can get to "well, they're incidental casualties". Failing at being a paladin when you start treating people like cattle, too.
<Snipped quote by Raineh Daze>
Yeah, one of 3/3.5's problems was that they intentionally put in lackluster options to "trick" new players and so that veterans could feel more smug about themselves. Although to his credit Monte Cook apparently later went on to admit that this was kind of a bad idea. XD

Then there were the times they thought something was good but it just gave you the ability to do things a DM would let you do with a roll anyway, or having good feats behind dodge and mobility. Woops.
Also not gaming to avoid picking dud character options without some very good plan for how to make them worth it.

Now trying infinite XP exploits to make any magic item you want on demand...
...Hopefully I'll get something posted in the next few days. ^^; I think I'm the only one holding back the onryo team for one thing...

...Also need to start dropping vague lore about the one thing Yuina fears more than ghosts at some point but yeah. >.> <.<

Bad food? :P
It's not gaming to memorise how things work. :P
