Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

  • Name: Ryuuko
  • Age: Depending on how you look at it, she's either inhumanly old, or she's been around for about an afternoon. It's hard to pin down an exact number for how long she's been alive, as space itself doesn't have much in the way of handy reference points.
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Dragon. One of reality's handy protectors, whose fundamental basis is incomprehensible to everyone from Earth. She doesn't hold it against them, it's not their fault that they're made of so boring matter rather than the true stuff of stars.
  • Appearance: Claws, talons, a pretty dress, and a nice ribbon.
  • Personality: Ryuuko is pleasant enough to be around but lacks social awareness due to... well, never having actually socialised before. Coupled with rather a large amount of inquisitiveness at being somewhere other than space (and it has people with similar anatomy, too!) and a lot of problems lie ahead without some sort of escort. The police have managed to impress one thing upon her, though: violence is the wrong thing to do. Even if you're a dragon capable of eradicating eldritch monstrosities.
She's also scared of dogs and astronauts.
  • Abilities: As a dragon, she has the standard dragon stuff: incredibly destructive breath damage, a certain disregard for the normal restrictions of gravity, enough physical might to actually stand a chance against anything that might want to wrestle the universe into explosion, and a level of resilience that would cost Miura a lot of buildings if a serious attempt to kill her was made. She also learns languages extremely quickly.
  • Skills: Nope.
  • Equipment: None.
  • Brief Backstory: Some time in the distant, forgotten past--or at least distant as experienced by a dragon floating in the void--Ryuuko came into being. She drifted around without a pretty clear destination--space is big, after all--and often tuned out of her surroundings or slept. Maybe in the floating she actually served her purpose and crushed something that threatened reality itself; Ryuuko has no real idea what was going on whilst she was amongst the stars.
Then she fell to Earth with a rather frightful bang. At least, it was for the imaginary district's police and, after dusting her off, pulling her out of the kennels, and getting some clothes, they decided to ask around for people willing to show a dragon the modern world. Unfortunately, the Miura Youth Organisation is a bit busy, today...
Where's @Rin to add

Tight leather.

Asleep, most probably!
@AtomicNutY'know as much as I like Hellsing, spending eight years of my life watching a franchise where most of the vampires were basically mook-level and even the non-mook ones were mostly just smarter than the others always makes it weird to me whenever vampires are portrayed as the unstoppable badass lords of the night. XD

Well, that really only applies to vampires derived properly from Dracula. All the others are mooks, or mooks with tricks.

So... Alucard there and Seras. xD
Although the main problem I'm seeing with Nempires is that I'm picturing them struggling to get into tight leather pants because vampire and all.

They can go without and just rely on tight leather tops.
It could be a NEM vampire!
I'll take out the Lifespan thing, but without it otherwise there shouldn't be much of a problem as she's basically a dullahan akin to a fairy who just really really likes trains.

The USA presence isn't a thing - it's not even anywhere near Gensokyo; it's knowledge from outside the barrier. I only put it in there as an example of her train nerdiness; I can easily take that out.

Okay, it's... just really unfitting. Even putting aside that a dullahan is not actually a psychopomp, just a crazy unseelie fae... well, there's overlap. So much overlap with the shinigami that it's plain weird. And the train doesn't fit the setting, particularly when dialled up to an invisible unstoppable go-anywhere luxury deal.

And the "see souls of the dead!" thing... well, uh...

Seiga, all the divine spirits hanging around, Yuyuko, Youmu's ghost half, the evil spirits in the Forgotten Hell, and probably Mima all spring to mind immediately for highly visible and annoying souls, spirits, etc.

And I think that an embodiment of death would just be a gothloli fairy.
@easy modo Who on Earth is Ayame talking to?

  • Name: Alice Margatroid
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance:
  • Personality: On her own and towards mostly everyone, Alice is courteous if distant. With Marisa brought into the equation... well, it seems to bring out Alice's sarcastic side and, when they work together, it seems to involve arguing with each other as much as taking on the enemy.
She's quite a coward, in a way: though she engages in fights as readily as anyone else and puts up with losing, she never goes all out for fear of what losing then could mean. Well, given what happened last time she lost...
  • Species: Youkai Magician
  • Abilities: As a magician, Alice specialises in use of dolls and has ever since childhood, to the point that she routinely uses control of multiples of them in order to clean her house--purely for showing off, since it's no easier than just doing it normally anyway. She rarely touches her other magic--including being one of the four who created an endless night to work out what was going on with the moon. Most likely, it has something to do with the grimoire she's always carrying around... one that seems to have the power to make an entire world.
  • Skills: Aside from the magical aspects of her puppetry, Alice is understandably good with her fingers and, amongst other things, sewing and apparently making huge quantities of gunpowder. She makes all her dolls herself after all and they're all primed to explode.
  • Brief Backstory: Alice was probably made in Makai. Or born. It's not quite clear. Nevertheless, there was a doll-using child, who got in the way of people trying to deal with tourism trouble, and came back a bit later with her book and... lost again anyway, after putting up a much better fight. The various outcomes involved getting tied up so she'd stay out of the way whilst trying to leaf through it, and becoming someone's maid.
Some time after this, Alice became a magician--if she hadn't been one in the first place--and moved to the Forest of Magic, essentially becoming Marisa's neighbour. She's been involved in solving a few incidents but doesn't really get involved on her own.
@ShadowKingman I... have to say no to that. Even without the inexplicable USA presence, it doesn't seem to fit--especially that lifespan thing, as beating up shinigami that know they should be dead is a perfectly valid way of achieving immortality.
Tyaethe paid the lightning user minimal heed, slamming her sword in the way and glaring at the necromancer. The bolt crashed into the mighty blade and... failed to do any harm to the wielder. The handle was wrapped, after all: gripping bare metal was a terrible idea when it would inevitably get slick with swear (though sticky blood could balance that out).

The paladin clamped down on her anger for the moment, keeping the returning glow dim, and issued the more important one with an ultimatum: "Necromancer, surrender or be cut down. Your crimes against the goddesses are vast but there remains a chance to redeem your soul before the crown decides your fate. Both you and your accomplice are further charged with conspiracy to murder."

He wouldn't accept it. They almost never did, and even then it was usually a trick. But every second they spent talking was one where her arm could regain more functionality and once that was healed, she could finish them. Someone else might even make it down. Plus, once they had their eyes on her...

Imperceptibly, as she couldn't get any more tense, Tyaethe prepared to spring.
