Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

  • Name: Mori Nana
  • Age: 29
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Human (Mage)
  • Personality: Nana is a diligent and serious person at work or when out in public, striving to maintain an approachable demeanour without losing what little intimidation factor she has: she has to at least seem competent at her job rather than "small and cute mascot". Out with friends or at home in private, she's a lazy tease who seems to do nothing but take it easy, which doesn't do a lot for her ability to be a stern parent, though she can occasionally bring her professional demeanour out when trying to relax.
Oh, and don't poke fun at her height.
  • Abilities: She also has a version of her family's magical trait, though it's a considerably milder version than Hoshiko's. It can be activated or deactivated at will and gives her telepathic abilities--reading surface thoughts primarily, though it can be used to communicate with someone else or amplified with the appropriate spells to dig around a lot deeper.
As a fully trained mage with a Perception affinity, aside from the very basics--such as reinforcing her physical strength and durability to not be immediately squashed by youkai she has to deal with in her job. It makes her especially good at scrying or any other magic aimed at gathering information and observing a place without being present. Or improving upon senses; it's not a good idea to assume she can't see in the dark just because she's a human being...
  • Skills: Seeing as she works in a police force, Nana has a lot of martial arts practice, which is only enhanced when she actually needs to fight by being able to pick up what the other person's going to do before they even begin to do it. Or, calling on her own experience, Nana can be a straight-up brawler (especially if there's something nearby to use as a bludgeon). She's in general pretty good at her job, but not a domestic person--the average cleanliness and quality of food at her place went up when Hoshiko moved in with her.
  • Equipment: Those (actual) earrings? They're enchanted and actually improve her eyesight. Without them, she'd need some pretty thick glasses to see clearly.
  • Brief Backstory: Nana was born and raised in the Imaginary District, making her no stranger to the vast number of nonhuman entities that live in this world--or humans having to compensate for their comparative lack of natural abilities. The number of fights she picked with everything during her teenaged delinquency made that perfectly clear. Then she spent a few years after highschool studying more in the normal world, then returned to the Imaginary District and followed in her father's footsteps by joining the police force.
Until just a year ago, her life was nothing much to write home about: she became a detective and maintained an inability to find a lasting romantic relationship. It was about that time that her family was looking for someone in the district with enough space (and willingness) to take in someone with powerful, and potentially dangerous, abilities. So Nana took Hoshiko in.
Unfortunately, between her job keeping her busy and her own lack of parenting skills, she wasn't very good at getting Hoshiko to attend school or go outside much. It was a good thing that the mayor's daughter decided to help everyone then, wasn't it?
Yukimura Noriko

It was embarrassing that she had so nearly forgotten the fundamental issue of trying to make friends with other magical girls... the sheer difficulty of doing anything in public without being forced to reveal one's real identity. Taking someone home was obviously entirely out of the question and yet to pay for anything would require ceasing your transformation: one way or another, it was hard to find many ways to bond when it exposed something like that.

So she had begged off of accompanying the Major at the last second, using her speed to get away... and staying at home for the rest of the evening just in case. Missing out on delicious yakitori in favour of nothing at all... she would have to be more careful before transforming the next time.

But it lead her to today's enterprise: feed her hungry stomach by finding the yakitori stand (or some yakitori) that had been mentioned. Step one: head to the nearby busy shopping district. Step two: try not to get distracted by the old shop that seemed to stack back-issues of every magical girl magazine to have ever been printed.

Step two had been a failure and, after considerable internal wrangling over how much to get today, the white-haired girl left with only one bag.

She was going to find the yakitori, though!
Sir Tyaethe Radistirin

It was very good for Gill that the rabbit had stepped in before someone else had gotten to take him to task for, more or less, insinuating that a child was out to do evil and then using the knights as blackmail. Because of what? Rank and family connections. Irrelevant family connections after publicly disowning the dead bastard and refusing to inter Phoran Cal with the rest of the family.

Instead, the armoured knight decided to try and get to the chase before someone offended her to the point they wouldn't get any sort of answer: "You sent Alette after a shard of metal with instructions to not touch it, so you have to know if it's a Shard of Angroron. So you can tell us who lost it in the first place and help us reclaim the thing safely."
All she had to do was feed mana to the circle? Hopefully, Toshiko would get around to some explanation of the design at a later point; knowing how to use a spell but having no idea what it was--or how to tell it apart from something of similar operation but vastly more danger--seemed to be a rather big risk to take.

So, place the ofuda in the circle--a quick flick of her wrist was enough to pull the shred of paper from Toshiko's fingers and allow it to float into position--and then feed mana to it. Repeat the same visualisation exercise from earlier, her fingers forming a bridge for mana to be sucked down into the circle. The circle that, in its own way, knew more about what was going on than the apprentice herself did...

Hopefully, this worked in a manner she could make sense of the results.
@Queen Tomato: Hmmm.

Unfortunately my ideas for Gashadokuro in-setting are more "horrible nightmare" then playable character. ^^;

However, you've been very cooperative and reasonable and I'm very eager to try and help you figure something out, so feel free to ask any questions you like.

And it's a Yuru Yuri avatar! :D
Yes.

Because I don't really think there's time for the three or so posts before Noriko realises she'd have to untransform to pay for food and then leaves without getting anything. :T
Hot Place

Svetleaze von Einzbern

It seemed that she would have to be more careful in phrasing her orders in the future... not that she particularly cared about the soldiers being swatted away like flies in this case. Having Kintoki interpret her entirely too literally in the future would cause no end of headaches. Even this, which achieved the nice and simple objective of clearing a path, left an undeniable flaw in having to keep on her Servant's heels.

Not that this was beyond one such as herself, especially when the mass of bodies slowed Berserker down a little. No, the speed and effort required was fine...

Svetleaze was simply dressed entirely wrong for the scorching heat. A hot coat was grand for the snowy landscape the Einzbern claimed as their own or the middle of an ocean. It would have been perfect for the alternative destination. Babylon, though, a mostly arid land and nowhere near some of the mountains that might have brought relief? It was the wrong place to have come with a coat. A coat that she obviously couldn't afford to remove, lest some enterprising Master get the wrong idea and go for a fatal shot. Something would need to be added to the thing to prevent her from overheating. Soon.

Panting in the sweltering heat left the Einzbern as a naturally poor choice to convey any sort of major information to the King of Heroes.

Honoria Sigurddottir

It was too hot to run. That and, had she intended to do any running around, the magus would have chosen to wear something more practical for that than an elaborate dress. Besides, who thought that running around with your hands full of something as fragile as a guitar was a good thing? Anybody? No, she didn't think so.

Of course, climbing the stairs normally when everyone had been scattered like bowling pins was easy. It got even easier when you factored in how even very simple magecraft could dissuade most people from immediately approaching you--just keep them distracted with helping their friends. Keep repeating the same simple strain...

It was no wonder that the musician was the last one to actually reach the peak.

Sir Lancelot

Lancelot responded to Berserker's rush by taking his small Master under one arm and following, staying generally off to the side. It wasn't quite as safe as following right behind him, but it left his friend hand to deflect and disarm the stunned soldiers that might otherwise have pushed back towards the opened path once again--dropping the ladle towards the zenith and taking one of the disarmed spears instead.

It would have been a reassurance for his Master that the knight wasn't completely out of his mind by choosing to use cutlery as a weapon but she was probably more upset about being carried up the stairs like a sack of turnips.

The three Servants at the top of the Ziggurat put him on guard immediately. Yumi was stuck squarely behind the knight's voluminous cape as he viewed the King of Heroes with all the guarded suspicion that such a man warranted--the green haired... something that stood beside him too, as from his recollections of the war, the golden one had never shown anyone that sort of respect. Nor had he ever been addressed by name.

If he were to capitalise on his threat, it would be even more difficult to deal with him now: though he could compensate for his reduced speed by actually being aware of his surroundings and able to actively think ahead, their Masters were left with nowhere to shelter in such a confrontation. The top of a structure as this would make for a dangerously exposed place to fight. They would have to negotiate with Gilgamesh and hope that it avoided escalating into a fight.

"This world is but one that has been forced into an incorrect historical path. From the explanation we have received, the root of this problem stems from another false grail. If it carries the same corruption as the Fuyuki Grail, then its actions in summoning Servants and altering history can only be malicious in origin," the purple-haired knight explained, far too familiar with that blackness. The Great Grail was a terrible thing, "If unchecked, this singularity will have catastrophic effects. Even the very history we remember and that remembers us could be unmade, King of Heroes."
Hmm, not sure if I should wait for @Raineh Daze or not.

Ah, do so?

I know what I'm doing in Babylon with all three of those. Just hasn't been a good time to post.

Armageddon? Shin vs Neo? Or New Getter Robo?

All of the above.
I just watched the newer anime. I don't have a burning desire to go back to 70's manga and read through decades of changing art... or the inevitable hilarious translations of old anime. xD
