Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

She's not going to be very stealthy in the current situation she's in... So if Scaramouche and/or Shurelia is keeping a good eye around they would very likely find out that she's there... Truthfully I'd expect Shurelia to find her because of her current state of near paranoia...

Well, at least she avoided the two groups that would more or less instantly detect someone sneaking around. Ana's got to be that good to survive... and Mikoto has radar. xD
And of course Youtube would put a video of Kuroko against Awaki as a suggestion in it.

But this is clearly the best scene involving Awaki.
Shirai Kuroko

Where random criminals were being electrocuted in alleyways, there were always two constants. The first was that some imbecilic thugs had failed to recognise the most publicised of all the Espers in Academy City. Quite how they managed to repeat this mistake time after time, nor ever realise that anyone wearing a Tokiwadai uniform was at least a Level 3 and probably capable of handling themselves, was one of life's eternal mysteries. Stupidity was a possible explanation, though even an idiot would recognise Misaka Mikoto easily enough. Maybe they were just cocky.

The second constant was that these broad daylight assaults got the same Judgement agent responding, time after time. It was unfortunate that the fastest responder in the district would consistently arrive after the matter was over and done with, as nobody with that sort of ability should be able to arrive late to the fight. Simply finding out about the conflict and working out where it was, even with a technological savant, took time. Today was no different, with the agent dropping in the same as ever, not realising at all that the scenery had significantly changed from its norm.

"Onee-sama, how many times have I told you to leave these criminals to Judgement?"

Reinhardt Wilhelm and Ana Amari

To say that neither the Middle East nor Scandinavia quite matched the city that the two old veterans found themselves in was quite an understatement. Both had wandered through the strange environment with various degrees of subtlety--Reinhardt occasionally calling out and making no attempt to disguise his presence, whilst Ana stuck to the shadows and kept looking for the optimal route to not be seen. That their paths would cross so soon after walking over was unexpected, though perhaps inevitable; in the grand scheme of things, they came from almost exactly the same place.

Reinhardt, of course, had no idea that a familiar sniper was hanging around. He'd always been one for getting up close and personal, leading a charge and dealing with the consequences as they might arise. Spotting someone skilled in hiding, particularly when she stuck to his blind side, was something that the old man was never going to notice.

The other was left weighing up whether she should reveal her survival to Reinhardt... dependable, moral but emotional Reinhardt. Of the veterans of Overwatch, only her daughter would have taken her 'death' so harshly and these weren't controlled circumstances to reveal herself in. The circumstances, in the end, forced Ana's hand; this city wasn't somewhere she could have gotten just from scouting away from Jack and Reinhardt seemed as lost as she did.

Unlike her last reunion, Ana could say that it went well. It wasn't a horrifying reveal in a firefight--though she made sure to not mention that fight, as the other survivors' secrets weren't hers to tell--and the giant of a man seemed to overcome his grief with alarming rapidity. The other reunion hadn't left her quite so aware of the age in her bones, nor quite so sore; even when being gentle, a mountain of a man and powered armour were a bad combination for embraces.

Now they were walking around the apparently empty city, with Reinhardt narrating a story about how one of Torbjorn's daughters had tried baking a cake for the New Year and how it had nearly set the kitchen on fire. It was probably an exaggeration but, after dealing with the criminal underworld for so long and her own moroseness, Ana could appreciate such an upbeat tale. Of course, Reinhardt, helmet clasped under one arm, was too engrossed in his storytelling and the occasional grandiose gesture to notice the biker ahead--until pointed out.

"Hello! Could you tell us where we are?" the German asked, the first of the pair to actually speak to Kino--and as usual heedless of how intimidating a man of his size, especially with his armour, could be to children... male or female, he wasn't quite sure.

@VitaVitaAR
That might be the case, but Wolverine practically teleported himself into a random bar that I cannot fathom Reinhardt finding, let alone entering. So... I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.
To preserve my own sanity and avoid having a really long post talking to myself later in the RP, I guess I'll have Ana and Reinhardt group up at first. But where to send them?

... who's short and needs a heart attack? >:D
  • Name: Ana Amari
  • Universe: Overwatch
  • Appearance: How nobody guessed her identity with the Overwatch logo on one shoulder is one of life's mysteries.
  • Personality: When she was younger, Ana was a very serious and strait-laced person, despite her commitment towards protecting those she cares for and making a better world for her daughter. Her caring side, however, was enough to get a reputation as a mother bear to all those under her command--an attitude that would lead to her apparent death. At the same time, this attitude also caused her kills to weigh heavily on her conscience, a major contributing factor to allowing the entire world to believe she was dead.
Nowadays, years after the fact, she seems to have reconciled herself with what she's done--and become a lot more warm in general. She's also become rather... sarcastic, even in the face of danger or battle.
  • Powers/Skills: As a perfectly normal human, Ana has nothing in the way of supernatural abilities. Instead, she retains a level of physical ability quite unusual for a sixty year old--and the skills honed over a lifetime of military service. She's still a surprisingly capable hand to hand fighter but what she's known for is her ability as a sniper. Ana was the best in the world in her prime, even into her fifties, and despite the loss of her cybernetic eye she has shown no signs of getting any worse at her job.
She's a capable commander--both on and off the battlefield--due to her long stint as Overwatch's second in command, though whether the ability to help lead a military organisation on that scale translates well to more supernatural events is somewhat questionable. And, finally, Ana seems to have some training as a combat medic--at least enough to work out when someone is in need of immediate medical attention.
  • Brief Bio: Coming from a long line of soldiers, it was inevitable that Ana would find herself joining the army--and her timing found her fighting in the midst of the Omnic crisis, with Egypt's forces increasingly relying on snipers to deal with the endless tide of robots. When Overwatch was formed, it was a natural choice to include her as their sniper, and after the crisis she rose to the position of Jack Morrison's second in command, raising her daughter around the other heroes in the organisation--yet wanting her to stay away from the military (for all the good that did).
It was in her 50's, after the King's Row uprising and Amélie Lacroix's abduction, retrieval, and subsequent murder of her husband, that Ana chose to stay behind during an operation, seeking to eliminate the sniper that had brought down members of her team. Instead, when she had the opportunity to take the final shot, Ana hesitated on seeing who it was--and got her own eye shot out for the trouble. Wounded but not dead, Ana faked her death, yet soon enough wanted to work at bringing down Talon once more.
Instead of revealing herself to the world at large, Ana began to operate under the name of Shrike as a bounty hunter, sabotaging Talon operations in the Middle East, getting in trouble with the government, and somehow ending up on a watchlist in Russia at one time. Eventually, this culminated in both Reaper and Soldier 76 showing up at the same time with some interest in her--and now it's quite clear that all three of them know the others are alive. She decided to stick with Jack, as he needed her help.
  • Equipment: Ana's rifle is a particularly odd specimen--rather than firing traditional bullets, it instead fires an injection of nanomachines. For allies, this means biotics that stitch up and heal injuries... yet for enemies it's quite the opposite, destructively tearing apart. Of course, the gun can't differentiate friend from foe--in a busy fight, it's quite possible that she would hit the wrong person if she tried to shoot.
The rifle isn't the only thing that Ana carries--she has a supply of grenades that have the same, but more immediate, effects, and a pistol fitted with sleep darts to deal with people in a more nonlethal manner. She even has a wrist-mounted launcher for the last set of nanomachines on her person, which induce an artificial and extremely strong adrenaline rush for a brief period of time--allowing allies to exceed their normal physical limitations and ignore injuries.
  • Others: She's pretty short.

Yeah, yeah, I'll interact with Mikoto in a minute. :p
Would it really be a problem though? It's not like Aoi's gonna make Kuroko obsolete...

She doesn't really contribute much when her ability is outclassed in every regard except frequency of use.
Lilianna Belwiss

She had forgotten just how miserable an experience it was to be travelling in haste. The food was bad, the weather had to be endured rather than waited out, and it was uncomfortable. Particularly the uncomfortable part--though not as much for her as some of the poorer knights; Lilianna was still a noble and used to having a good riding horse and another of fine breeding for the fighting.

Looking back at the convoy, she had no idea how anyone might fall for this ruse and assume they were just a group of mercenaries. Bereft of heraldry or shining armour, it was still a large enough armed group--and one lead by the Captain herself. Just about the one thing that might convince the heathens that it was an unrelated force was the distinctly missing profile of one paladin... though as small mercies went, her absence was distinctly troubling. It wasn't that she had stayed behind. Rather, Tyaethe had been entirely absent when it became time to set out, horse undisturbed in the stables.

Ahead, the terrain seemed more favourable to them than any enemy--plenty of open land, suitable for running down peasant rebels. How had they not been dealt with already? It should be trivial.
  • Name: Shirai Kuroko
  • Universe: Toaru Kagaku no Railgun/Toaru Majutsu no Index
  • Appearance: Not pictured: she's kind of short.
  • Personality: There are two sides to Shirai Kuroko--which fits the black-and-white theme of her name. On the one hand you have a somewhat blunt young woman, who despite the amazing abilities and science she's exposed to on a daily basis is quite sceptical of anything that could exist beyond the realm of Academy City's futuristic science. She's a bit too formal, but generally quite a relaxed person--with a sense of justice strong enough that the concept of backing down seems to elude her. And, unlike her roommate, she actually joined Judgement so she could help legally, which she takes extremely seriously.
Then there's the other side, which can be best summed up as an alarming degree of attraction towards Mikoto and a tendency towards impulsive action. Whilst her attention in that regard certainly seems to not be desired--especially when she gets too touchy--it's nonetheless a very genuine attraction, and she's willing to do whatever she can to make sure that the Railgun is actually happy... no matter how much danger this might put her in.
  • Powers/Skills: Kuroko is a Level 4 esper with the most wonderfully descriptive ability name in the series: Teleport. It does exactly what it sounds like and allows her to teleport things: specifically, herself or anything that she's in contact with. This has its own limitations--around 130kg weight and a range of just over 80 metres. Because the basis of her ability is doing maths in eleven dimensions, if she can't concentrate, then she's not going to be teleporting anything--but she's surprisingly resilient to pain for someone of her age.
Quite oddly for a high level esper, Kuroko isn't completely reliant on her ability in a fight--teleporting is useful for pinning people down by their clothing or getting around them, certainly, but a brawl isn't always the place for doing maths. Instead, she actually seems to know martial arts, presumably something close to aikido--not only is she young, she's small and not particularly bulky, and her fighting style is all about using people's strength against them. Except, of course, with the common inclusion of surprise dropkicks.
  • Brief Bio: After joining Judgement the year before enrolling in Tokiwadai and getting a much needed growth spurt, Kuroko was involved in preventing a bank robbery, which was pretty much the most exciting thing to happen until after she met Misaka Mikoto... and somehow managed to end up as the older girl's roommate. Since then, she's been involved in several rather more serious incidents--though she doesn't know about the worst of them aside from said roommate coming home late a lot--and gotten rather hurt once.
  • Equipment: Aside from her phone, Kuroko has the two belts of needles strapped to her thighs, useful for pinning people down by their clothing or disabling complex mechanisms. It's a shame that she doesn't have the much larger belts handy.
  • Others:
@VitaVitaAR Fine, I can delete that. I mean you can always destroy the head but...

Edit: Was that directed at me or?
