The pair continued to fit the pattern that would be expected of residents of the magical world when the girl's armour vanished into the ether. It was a surprising development--the armour vanishing before the person--but disappearing clothing was somewhat nostalgic already. Honestly, it wasn't even the strangest thing going on with that duo; the strange was only made more ridiculous by the child's deep, booming voice. What sort of child sounded like he should be doing voiceovers for movie trailers?

Coming in closer had clarified things a little more. Whatever thy were, they weren't really like the Magical World residents. The blonde at least sounded like she had more in common with Chachazero. Masters? Servants? Honestly, the girl had such good fortune to be in the same place as her. No stranger to magical contracts of all types and lacking any sort of backup now. If anyone else had come along or Evangeline had her normal minions? Hah! Totally out of luck.

The blonde vampire's approach was direct, with no attempt to mask it. "It seems that we're all out of luck. You clearly need a Master and none of my dolls have come with me. You should count your blessings that I have a need for this role and will uphold whatever contract you require."

The blonde's grin revealed a little more tooth than required, but she couldn't let them think that this was an act of charity. Evangeline might have been a specialist in fighting alone but it was always good to weight the scales. This was wholly pragmatic: an evil vampire like her wouldn't do something nice for its own sake.

Rider didn't remember what she had been doing before now? Then that dagger wound... it was more than some spur of the moment opportunity to injure her opponent. That would be consistent with the dagger's bizarre design. Atalanta had called it a Noble Phantasm so... Medea had been freeing the other Servant? More thought on the matter had to wait, however, as Medusa ended up falling over again. The blonde Servant bent over, offering a hand to help the much taller figure to her feet... if there wasn't a positive motive for stabbing her, perhaps it was simply to watch the amusing sight of a legendary spirit stumbling around gracelessly?

"Why would you need to hurry so rapidly to your sisters? Umu, the stories explicitly say that of the three of you, the others should be in the least danger possible. They should be immortal and impossible to harm... indeed, if they possess even half of your beauty then I wonder who could possibly bring themselves to strike out at them! Yet if it would please one such as yourself, we are heroes and can travel out to insure that your sisters are protected if you tell us where they might be found."

This situation was getting stranger and stranger... the alchemist moved over to Bethany, keeping an eye on the various Servants. "Have you noticed that events seem to be pointing to monsters and villains being innocent here? I wonder if the Servants might trust someone by reputation, only to find out that they were behind this fire and chaos all along."

Piece of advice: avoid Evangeline and the Servants right now.

The gist is that Evangeline can get nerfed out of using magic by having to support these two, particularly as one is a Saber clone and the other has a bizarrely enormous magic stat. Which means that there's no risk of getting out of her nerfs by being around Nanoha or something. Best to let the contract be sealed first. xD

I like it. I was actually considering playing her to add another blonde vampire to the lot.

However, since the last game I played was Continuum Shift before Valkenhayn was even released as DLC, not a good idea.

I suppose that if I come across a strangely hard to approach area tomorrow whilst tracing the leylines, then we will have confirmed the residence of one Magus--perhaps not a participant in this war, yet certainly a magus to place their home somewhere so spiritually significant," the Enforcer responded, thinking. Certainly, any obfuscated house suggested a magus--particularly if one resisted the attempts of the magically inclined to find it, rather than some former-magus' home. A convergence of leylines would certainly confirm it, "I shall inform you of my findings around this time tomorrow--but where should we meet?"

There, some leverage for the woman. A trap-free meeting place of her choosing should she wish to further this alliance.

Now cleaned up, Assassin returned to leaning into her Master for support, continuing to warily eye the much larger woman. It was bizarre for a stranger to be so nice and not disparaging that she didn't know what to think... she would just listen for Mother's instructions. Mother would know best with this sort of person, right? She only knew what to do with clearly evil ones...
