Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

@Crimson Paladin It'd be better to post rather than assume the attack is stopped without a hitch (if nothing else, teaming up on someone means you should both get to react anyway) xD
  • Name: Yamada Jiro / Sif
  • Age: 3X / 9
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Alv
  • Personality: In general, Jiro was conditioned to take things in stride and simply deal with it. Of course, the current situation is far beyond what that would be... but that won't change the response. Unsuitably sarcasm and cynicism is the order of the day, by and large, though it's not like Sif can completely escape her childish impulses and present far greater level of energy. It's just not her normal reaction to things.
  • Brief Backstory: In his original life, Jiro was about as stereotypically dull as it was possible for any living human to be. A middle child with no outstanding abilities or talents, he ended up working in a respectable office job and finding his way to middle management. Not one to find time for romance, he was also the type to sideline his interests to get more work in and then go out drinking. All in all, a banal but tolerable existence.
Her life as Sif has hardly been one that could be construed as more exciting in concept--a child is just a child, even when they're an elf. Hailing from one of the Eastern kingdoms, one couldn't say much except that it was a comfortable family life. Uprooting to live with family in Grandia despite the risk of war--the magically inclined only increased in demand, after all--may have been one of their poor choices, given the presence of unscrupulous types who have an interest in young Alves.
She's in quite a pickle right now.
  • Abilities: Sif has unusually high magical potential even for an Alv, but that's it--potential. She has no actual training beyond a very rudimentary "and this allows you to clean dishes instantly" deal. If she had anything more significant, her current predicament wouldn't be so bad.
  • Skills: In the skills department, Sif is woefully lacking in anything that would really be of use to a child. Whilst she now has the benefits of a full tertiary education, it is safe to say that a child is not going to be getting that much mileage out of office skills adapted for abundant computers and even less out of managerial ability. The most useful skill she has going for her is having learned well how to actually learn material--if presented with a chance to learn magic, she's going to do it a lot faster than her age would suggest.
Though maybe she could put her skill at number-based logic puzzles to work and start writing games for newspapers?
  • Equipment: Nada
  • Origin: Our World
He's not that big.
Since... Astolfo was never accepted and the person playing him vanished...

  • Name: Asterios, also known as the Minotaur though better not called by that title.
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: Big and muscular. Particularly the 'big' part; Asterios stands at 298cm tall, or 9'9. Presumably not including the horns.
  • Personality: Though ordained a monster from birth and known to eat people, in truth Asterios is not a wicked person and will fight against his past even if it would destroy him. To those that would use his name, he's quite amenable to even someone quite demanding. Strange as it might seem, this monster with all his limited speech is by far one of the most gentle Berserkers and easily controlled.
Simply don't call him the Minotaur.
  • Brief History: He's the Minotaur. Born to the wife of King Minos and a bull, he was summarily stuck in a maze of Daedalus' design and fed humans as sacrifices. So far as life stories go, his winds up being rather short--after Theseus arrived and had a conversation with him, Asterios was slain and it ended there. Now summoned into Chaldea, he has a far more enjoyable situation than his real life, having far more ability to experience the outside.
  • Universe of Origin: Nasuverse
  • Equipment: As a weapon, Asterios originally had an enormous Labrys... which he split into two equally-massive halberds. The style of axe quite possibly gave its name to the labyrinth, yet as weapons they do very little--except be remarkably strong and durable to not shatter when swung around.
  • Abilities: Asterios is a monster by nature and has the raw strength to show for it. His baseline level of strength is enough to overpower a raging Heracles and his durability enough to survive a blow that would kill the same. Further, his abilities as a Servant allow him to improve all his attributes further whilst raging, and exceed his strength on top of that--fittingly, trying to approach the minotaur in a contest of strength is a dismal failure. His speed and agility, though superhuman, are nowhere near as extreme--making it even easier to exploit his glaring weakness. Quite simply, for all his raw strength and toughness, Asterios hasn't any skill in fighting or tactics. He's an excellent navigator, however.
As a Servant, his Noble Phantasm is predictably the Labyrinth itself--something that can be manifested by recalling where he used to live. Predictably, it is a powerful magical construct, inescapable until Asterios himself is slain--though if you knew in advance to bring string to find your way out and started at the entrance, finding your way out would be more likely. He can also dissolve it, whether because it's done or simply because it's time to leave, and navigate the labyrinth fine... even though it takes a different form each time.
  • Other: Sprite for halberd scale.
Interested in one of the our-world characters.
Evangeline: now small and not magicked
Evangeline A. K. McDowell

Mordred and Andersen? They would have to do some explaining--so far as she knew, Mordred had never really existed and most certainly shouldn't have been a girl. Andersen, too, should have been far older than he currently appeared. His voice certainly fit the age one would have expected the famous author to be--good for telling stories; not his, though, if there was one thing that Evangeline had no desire to sit and listen to it was children's tales. The two had a further thing in common: they were both, the vampire was absolutely certain, supposed to be dead. That would explain why they needed a contract, at least...

"You're a perceptive one, boy," she said, stepping forwards and going through the motions to prepare. It wasn't like she knew the exact demands--magical power was a certainty but this wasn't quite the same as her doll contracts; Chachazero was still ''alive'' with nothing. It was even further from pactios... but that would be the easiest way to go about establishing something that could take whatever form was needed. "But not perfectly. I am a vampire: Evangeline, High Daylight Walker, True Ancestor, Apostle of Calamity, Advent of Evil, the nightmare of children's tales. But don't confuse me for anything other than a villain needing minions to be sub-bosses."

Then, before the pair could stop to analyse her actions, Evangeline leaned down to give them both a brief kiss--nothing but her lips quickly brushing against theirs, but enough to form a contract in a burst of light... and start rapidly siphoning away from the vampire's reserves to refill the Servants' lack of mana.

Unfortunately for Nanoha, this action was hardly distracting enough that a vampire used to regular and lethal attempts on her life would miss being watched or approached so closely. The magical girl was spared from direct reprisal by, of all things, the even more suspicious swarm of moths landing on a nearby tree. Honestly, did their controller think that more than one piece of magical surveillance would be missed? If not by her, then by anyone else with magical awareness? Familiars of any sort or type might be good for spying but you had to keep them from getting too much attention...

Without warning, the blonde melted away from the Servants, arising instead in the shadow of the same tree as the moths, frowning at them from point blank. "If you have something to say or do, come here in person. Whatever... let this be a warning to you! Lic Lac La Lac Lilac!"

She could have been more discrete about it, but what was the point? Best to let whoever was on the other end think this was as fast as she could cast: "Gelida halitus, immitte! Nivis Casus!"

The ensuing avalanche from her hand was more than enough to grind down the moths... and the tree... and several trees behind it, an onrushing torrent of ice and snow that came to a halt at the park's boundaries. It also produced a more dramatic change, the spell--and refuelling the Servants--having completely drained Evangeline's reserves. So much so that to actually replenish anything over time, however little...

The illusion of age and size melted away, leaving Evangeline, glowering in the direction of her own avalanche, reduced to looking more like a fragile doll than an intimidating vampire sorceress. Even the passing Japanese girl was bound to be taller, whilst Andersen had plenty on her.
Yeah, she hasn't actually done the contracting and bottomed-out her reserves. xD

The white-haired paladin's frown deepened. Fleuri wasn't being anywhere near aggressive enough for her liking--leaving Klaus to attack unsupported gave her too many opportunities to reduce it to one on one and earn victory that way. She'd have to force him in, even if that meant effectively ignoring Klaus for an instant. They both had to get involved.

The thrust missed, going over the head of its target as she dropped into a low stance and sprang forwards, looking for all the world like she'd been shot out of a catapult. Her target: a scything cut meant to take Fleuri's legs out from beneath him, with a secondary goal of repositioning the paladin so that the knight stood between her and Klaus. She had mobility in her favour here and had to use it; letting herself get caught in a pincer trap would be difficult if she couldn't beat one of them immediately.

If the captain didn't want her maids to get punished--and it really was their fault, the rest of them had just gotten back from the trek--there wasn't much that she could do. "Well, if that's the case, then I'll see you down at breakfast. But first... Vivien, you should apologise for waking her up like that."

For a second it seemed that the girl wouldn't say anything, but, sullenly... "Sorry, Auntie..."
