Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Laetitia Arconiand

Ah, she'd gotten here before Saber had changed out of her working outfit--and been noticed quickly, too. Having so much height on your Servant could be pretty convenient for being identified. Just think of how much more problematic it would be in this city if all of the tall historical figures got paired with someone small and easily lost in a crowd. "Help, I've lost my Master and don't know where to find him!"

Though laughing at history's greatest heroes was fun.

As usual, the actual clients of the host club were sending loving glances Saber's way... well, she knew exactly what to do about that. The taller magus leant down, very obviously kissing Saber's cheek--then standing up and winking at the girls. No doubt they'd try and rip her apart if they got over here, so Laetitia wrapped one arm around the shorter blonde's and dragged her along. She looked good in a suit, no sense changing.

"You were going to meet Lancelot today, weren't you?"

Sir Lancelot

"Not at all," the other knight answered, starting to smile, "We had planned to watch Sir Gawain's progress in the competitions but Sigurd has forced upon us a change of plans."

Presumably, those plans would still be something that would make use of the mountain of snacks he had purchased. Something that could involve Masters, too, since it was unlikely that Arturia's Master was going to just disappear when she could find out more about the Round Table...

Though now it might involve a bit more preventing a fight. It was probably better that another person was around when Arturia and Mordred met again.

Gilgamesh

If Hinami was wishing that at least one of the Servants would be quieter, she was going to be even more disappointed by Gilgamesh's laughing response to Iskandar's proposing a fight. After all, what point would there be in that encounter? It would end exactly as the first fight had. It was foolish to think that he would have any interest in a fight.

Though his interest had been in Waver's loyalty rather than the Rider himself, he still had business with the King of Conquerors. "There is a bar in this city that serves passable drinks, but know this: my position remains unchanged. Any attempt at conquest must first go through me.

"Though you will keep searching for incarnation anyway?"
I must get that dapper bartender outfit.

Fortunately, I now have Moriarty on NA and JP.
Blame Devil May Cry and CCC for my lack of posting right now.
Laetitia Arconiand

The blonde girl stretched once outside and away from the day's lessons--and the annoying clean-up afterwards. It was strange how some actions to foster responsibility had managed to make their way to this place despite the normal antipathy any magus had to working with another person. Well, Laetitia had no such luck if she wanted to get anything done, and an education was an education.

She took a brief detour to change into casual clothing, then set out to find her Servant--not that it was really difficult to tell where Saber would be at this point. She had to do something during the day whilst Laetitia had lessons, and her skill set was rather limited for many things. Trying to persuade King Arthur to be a taxi driver, as amusing as it would be, wasn't the sort of discussion to make any progress... though it had been fun to try.

Fortunately, she'd found out pretty early how good the smaller blonde looked in a suit, and how unwittingly charming she could be. Since a particularly interestingly themed host club had been looking for employees at the time... well, Saber had gone along with it when Laetitia had made the point that she wasn't going to spend all of her money on extra food.

Maybe she'd get there before her shift ended, today.

  • Name: Laetitia Arconiand
  • Age: 18
  • Appearance: She's, oddly enough, 188cm tall.
  • Personality: A girl who takes amusement in teasing and annoying others, able to keep a level head when that inevitably blows up in her face or if a situation gets stressful. Despite Laetititia's attitude seeming to be rather unpleasant at first glance, she's remarkably good at never taking it too far--the point is to get a rise out of people, not distress them. On the occasions she does push it too far, she's quick to try and make amends--an altruistic attitude she ultimately applies to everything. Even if greed does have a massive influence in certain situations...
  • Abilities: Laetitia takes odd pride in a certain claim: that she has but a single magic circuit. Not a vast number, nor a reasonable number of high-quality circuits. One. Yet, so far as her family has been concerned, this is ideal: the embodiment of quality over quantity. Despite being but a single circuit, she's able to sustain a top-tier Servant without the degradation of their abilities and keep up with a certain Average One at least on raw output.
Then as a magus... well, it starts to get weird. Her affinity is for True Ether. Another thing her family prides itself on despite being somewhat of a defect in this day and age--no True Ether remains in the world, nor can it be actualised, and thus achieving magecraft more advanced than Reinforcement is beyond them no matter their power. Were she to achieve their current goal, this might be reversed into the strongest of affinities, but...
What the Arconiand family magecraft can currently do is essentially meta-magecraft. True Ether is a more powerful substance than Ether, and thus an affinity for True Ether leads to a branch of magecraft that excels at something thought impossible nowadays: modifying or negating magecraft with only magical energy. Taking the target of a spell and reversing it, breaking an enchantment, amplifying the powers of some skilled but weak or exhausted magus... in everything but the casting of spells, they are remarkably adept.
  • History: The Arconiand lineage harks back to the unknown past and claims to be descended from dragons--a fact they attribute their absurdly powerful but limited circuits and unusual affinity. Unfortunately, this has also lead to a family tree that seems to actively make itself as narrow and impossible to map as humanly achievable in the pursuit of maximising this draconic purity.
Most immediately, however, Laetitia's parents were both in the odd situation of being enforcers--with this sort of magecraft, the contributions one can make to the Association are rather limited; either assisting other work or hunting down mages who think themselves safe so long as they have enough protections. Other portions of the family focus more on the long-term goal of finding a way to draw on the reverse side of the world where it might be possible to access True Ether, and from there... the Root.
Fusang and its abundance of Servants seemed like yet another opportunity to possibly achieve this--or at least study Casters from the Age of Gods for clues--and as such she has several cousins present as well, and her parents took the opportunity to stop risking their lives daily and live here.
Most notably, the family as a whole doesn't shun technology. It would be rather inconvenient from their perspective to rely on solutions born from magecraft, when such things are even more easily broken and they lack the ability to replace them. Rather fittingly, they hoard wealth like nobody's business.
It could be said that Laetitia is the most powerful of the current generation, but she's also far from the main line and currently disinterested in arguing that the crest should transfer branch. No matter how powerful the circuits entrusted to it are.
  • Other: From a rich family, but definitely dependent on them.
A certain someone has been pining for a Master for Saber...

Honda Ami

The schoolgirl blinked a few times. Just like that? "You mean I don't need to climb a mountain barehanded and cut a waterfall to prove myself? Or swear some oath to join the... you know...?"

It was quite possible that the schoolgirl had gotten the wrong idea entirely about the sort of things a Servant would demand of their Master... or at least what Assassin was likely to make her do. Though she had a feeling that if her Servant cold find a good reason to, she might want to get that oath.

But Ami had no plans to try and take down the current government, thank you very much.

"Caster"

"If you would allow me to hide the hat for now, then yes. With a little work I could do a better job of fitting in than most of the other Servants," the witch replied, glad that it was her Master that had brought it up--she still needed to eat, after all, and using the excuse of blending in... well, it was somewhat more effective. She was a magus, not dead, and a Servant--it could be made a lot harder to work out that last one.

But she also needed to eat. And pancakes sounded good.
Lancelot

The knight paid for the mountain of snacks, thinking over the request, "If I withhold this information, I must ask that you meet the king sooner. If you go to this address during the week, before five in the evening, then you can meet her." There was a moment's pause. "Or you could come now, if your Master is willing."

Though quite why Lancelot had handed over the address for a host club...

Gilgamesh

The tense staring continued for a few seconds before the Servant broke it: "You still have a duty to seek revenge." An incomprehensible statement to the others in the room, but all of that night was no doubt burned into Waver's memories. He couldn't possibly forget, even for a second, his final orders.

"If I fight you, I would still lose."

The corners of Gilgamesh's mouth turned up slightly. The same response? "Of course."

"I have been ordered to live."

No hesitation. Good, he had validated the original judgement--and now to the other reason why he had come all the way here. "Then you know what you must do. Your loyalty shall be catalyst enough."
Alkyrieaze von Einzbern

The girl sighed. Really, she had to find something that would make Diarmuid a little less miserable, you would think several years would have ironed some of the kinks in the Saber's personality out. This was possibly the most pessimistic she'd seen him so far. "I have confidence that you could take any non-phantasmal boar if I were to simply arm you with a kitchen knife. Worry about trying to obtain all of your weapons when we have a need for them."

Turning around, Alkyrieaze gave the women hanging off of him a level stare. She would threaten them, but there was no doubt that would fail to register. She could, of course, simply blast them, but murder was socially unacceptable and unlikely to be overlooked in a zoo. But she had to do something about these weak-willed idiots right now.

Fortunately, the alchemist knew exactly how to do this. Wasn't it grand that the old man made sure she knew of her predecessors tricks? Long wires slid out of her sleeves as the girl appeared to just size the situation up, snaking down and around the obsessed pair--and then pulling tight, drawing the two together and away from Diarmuid. Someone would probably come along with some scissors or the like soon enough, but they wouldn't be strong enough to break it.

"I should work on a more permanent solution. But we should keep going, there's a few more animals." And that would put them by the petting zoo. Once she was there, there was no excuse to not go in, right?
