Well, it's an exaggeration, on NA I have Nero, Gilgamesh, and Arash at bond 10 (zerkerlot is nearly bond 10); JP has Skadi, Zerkerlot, and Abigail on Bond 10. It's just far fewer than my time playing would suggest.

And I'm probably in trouble for not having Sitonai at Bond 10 yet.
Ah, Bond 10, something that I seem terrible at reaching with anyone.

"The chance with your fighting style was a slim one, but there was always a chance," the other knight said, trying to be as consolatory as he could. Admittedly, if he wanted to be fully honest, the chance was verging on non-existent even before the rules of the arena. Even with all else considered and the possibility for Bradamante have kept a cooler head... he had still been holding back the greatest boost to his capabilities.

Turning around to survey the aftermath, he saw that both Mordred had gone for a more... brutal approach, and that the others were now descending from the stands, one with concern for her Servant and the king no doubt seeking to find her first opponent. Or admonish him for not ending his fight all the faster.

"Hey, nice job, didn't think such a big sword could be used like that," she said in passing, looking down again at the hungry suit-wearing Servant. Hmm, the sword she had was about the same size, did that mean that Arturia had a similar fighting style? Or was the tiny food destroyer actually as brute force as Lancelot wasn't? "I guess I don't need to get more snacks?"

"I wasn't crying for chocolate..." the girl mumbled, plainly ignored in favour of well... being taken to a sweet shop. Had the shrine maiden worked out that these two were magical girls and after her for some reason? Was this a ploy to protect her? Or was this just further humiliation through sweets? Well, she wasn't going to go overboard or anything here... one KitKat. That would do.

And then she started looking around in earnest. What did you get gods...? Did gods like chocolate? What about tea-flavoured chocolate? Hanako thought it was nice, but would supernatural entities...?

Sophiana was late to the meeting, of course. Punctuality wasn't always her strongest point and it was around lunch time after all. That meant getting something to eat like any sane person would--talk of strange murders or not, she wasn't going around on an empty stomach--and the waitress in that little café was adorable... it had taken a lot to drag her away from the early lunch to arrive at some semblance of the appropriate time.

Which was why, with the meeting already in place, a short and curvy girl waltzed in seemingly without a care and still humming, just in time to catch the tail end of someone mentioning teleportation and cluing her into the murders. Excellent, and as soon as she was comfortable, Sophiana had the exact thing to say about it.

'Comfortable', in this case, meaning going over to the adorably shy girl nibbling away at a biscuit and pulling her into a rather soft embrace. "Have you missed me, Saturday~?

"Now, as the office worker-looking fellow suggested, displacement is no doubt the killing method here. The organs have been clearly and cleanly removed from the bodies without passing through them, which means a killer with some skill; partial displacement is immensely more difficult than moving a complete item, even if you were to somehow restrain or immobilise your target before doing so. I presume that some method to prevent the target from moving too much is in operation, as the alternative is quite impossible; the world's foremost expert in displacement is clearly not killing pretty girls. It would be such a waste~"

Pride is a very, very important facet of Sophiana's personality--she is an exemplary mage from a long line of exemplary mages, a family whose wealth and influence is comparatively free of circle politicking, so far as things go. Her sense of self importance thus is quite... excessive. Not so much that she rubs it in, but there's almost always an undercurrent of considering herself to be better than those she's talking with. She's surprisingly easy to get along with if you don't try to take down her ego, being generous and fairly helpful. Plus, she has a blatant and unconcealed interest in cute girls.
  • Abilities: The Val-Verde are a very old, very proud family who consider themselves to be amongst the greatest level of mages. Sophiana is an example held up of this, with mana quality and amount to spare, and the family's hereditary affinity for Air... though nobody would ever hear them refer to it as such except to correct someone else. It is an affinity for the Heavens, much classier sounding than those who muck around with little breezes and cleaning spells.
    Naturally, with this attitude, Sophiana tends to eschew the minor things or subtleties of the element, though she will indignantly conduct spells related to energy or movement if needed. The predominant bulk of her ability is on the art of Displacement, of moving a thing from one place to another. The simple trick she holds almost anyone with the right affinity should do is nothing more than a charlatan's cheat: from one hand to another. Her specialisation is much more advanced than that, allowing for the movement of unattended items within sight, or to transport part of her body elsewhere, or even--though with great reluctance given the possible dangers--her entire body from one location to another. This is the family's modern specialisation, and by specially preparing rooms, or marking and indicating items, she is able to access these stockpiles and retrieve or send items to them without much consideration for the physical distance... provided that she can remember what the item in question is when trying to obtain it.
    Her family's older speciality is still passed down and treated with great caution, as the danger it poses is directly proportional to the amount of mana fed into it: the violent, destructive invocation of wind and lightning. It is magic intended to cow, awe, and eliminate any threats; the only person truly safe when it's put to use is the caster. This use of elemental fury in its most directly powerful yet unconstrained form is, perhaps, why the Val-Verde are so insistent about their affinity.

    Arinne doesn't actually have a contract to force her help, and one wasn't really necessary. As soon as she got wind of what the younger girl was going to do, she volunteered to help out. Tyaethe, on the explosion of fire and noise, promptly chose to disengage from Jeremiah and watch the results from a safe distance. Say, beside the person responsible for the shot in the first place. It was pretty unlikely that Jeremiah would be able to see anything now, which ought to make getting more blows in easier, but if there were too many people around they might hit each other, and...
