Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

@FlappyTheSpybot I'd just like to ask if there's some reason you asked specifically for Tyaethe to come over and look. xD
Road to Haesting

The hills and road in the distance look much the same as their current spot, the grass thin but alive. It appears almost like nobody has passed this way for weeks, no heavy trail or clear sign of travellers being dragged off towards the hills. From the current vantage point, Rex can see a shallow cave, although it appears to be empty aside from a mess of abandoned spiderwebs. On a distant hill, a lost sheep with its coat overgrown ambles about eating through the grass. The sheep appears to be the largest living thing in the area apart from the spiders.

@Derg2
And what sort of clues are you looking for? There's a big difference between using super vision to look for tracks or dropped items or something.
Are you looking for anything in particular or?
Hecate

Grasspeak wasn't exactly her preferred location--for one it was perhaps busier than Hecate wanted to deal with, which was quite an odd thing to be saying when you spent as much time as she did in an MMO; secondly, it was full of low level players. Of course, PvP was disabled but... there was still something to be said for knowing that you could probably ruin the day of every player here if that were to change for any reason.

But both of these made it an excellent place to get rid of materials that she had no use for: things picked up almost by accident in the course of taking the scenic route, or joining a party just to have something to do for an afternoon. None of it even slightly useful for improving on her existing gear and, well... there was nothing cute about a bunch of monster parts worth keeping around. And her current looks were fine, maybe she'd find someone with magical girl inclinations at some point to help with another set...

Though maybe she ought to work on flight magic to do that? Maybe see if there was a way to do bullet hell...

Thus distracted, Hecate--in full witchy guise--made her way around Grasspeak selling off materials here and there for less than they were probably worth, before actually finding a shop that seemed to be busy. The nun she recognised, some of the game's roleplayers were pretty hard to miss when you were on official servers a lot. The smith... well, Hecate had heard about her as well, but more in the sense of "don't let the bargains fool you, find someone higher level if you want that sort of power". But maybe she'd want monster parts? She still had some manticore parts... those would fit right into this decor.

"Is this a bad time? I've got materials to sell..."
Akari was silently in agreement, albeit unknowingly, with Akari on the "why are we meeting her at a hospital?" concept. To the younger girl... well, hospitals just didn't make too much sense to her. It was definitely one of those "humans were squishy and vulnerable things"; she couldn't wrap her mind around needing an entire building to just... heal something. So why would you ever take even a handful of youkai to somewhere full of people even more vulnerable than normal...

In one hand, the young oni had an umbrella almost the twin of Tomoko's, only it was actually an ordinary umbrella, and incongruously a plastic bag full of bottles of... water. Yes, water, Akari was only trying to stay hydrated. That's what she needed to remember to say if anyone asked her why she was carrying these.

Though anyone that could smell her breath when she was drinking from another of the bottles with her free hand would have no trouble working out what was actually in them.
@Derg2@SilverPaw Just remember the scene's already set so you can keep going.
Tyaethe Radistirin

At two hundred years old, there were few things that Tyaethe would say were able to flummox her. Questioning what a vampire was doing as a paladin? That was old hat and there was a simple explanation starting off with the goddesses not approving of any of their clergy killing children in cold blood.

For someone to not know, however...

"You... that... how? It's been common knowledge for the last two hundred years, parents used to scare their misbehaving children with stories!" she stated, going through the obvious things that should have made it not worth questioning, "And even without that, there's the immortality, and the pale skin, and I was using a parasol when we came back from the forest."
