Speaking of the college, although someone that power-hungry and outright violent might be in it, we'd rather not fill setting-important NPCs and plot details this way? That wouldn't fit with it being a rather passive organisation right now.

Pretty high ranking or experienced is fine, but top of the pile not.

The way you've described the gravity magic puts it in an awkward position? Like, if he gets the spell working, then it's either ended the fight or not working at all, and if he doesn't have the control to exclude himself, then anything affected by it would also prevent any other character from being within the area... which, again, loops back to being awkward: if it's not strong enough to stop someone, it doesn't work to make it easier for the other knights because you're also limiting their movement. Like... having the skill to actually target someone or a small area would be better by not being so problematic to use when everyone else has swords and things? xD

If you have any specifics for what you wanted to do regarding attack magic in mind that would help?

Okay, so there's still some things there that need more clarification or... don't match properly? For one, none of the groups involved would have accepted an unrelated mage joining the knights to judge the captain. Like, the nobles want one of their own there, the king is currently backing the knights, and the college is independent of royalty. And it's too obvious. Basically, the nobles would send someone to join properly who actually has military training etc. to undermine them that way; it's not like an independent inspector. On the other hand, the knights should have someone magically proficient around, so they could ask the college that way.

Secondly, minor point: mana isn't made of particles. More of a pervasive (and coloured by person) glow (more wave-based than particle-based to observe). Though that's just a note.

On the abilities section, apart from not seeing why you would need to be strengthened to use particular magic (why would it be stressful?), you're going to have to give some example of what you mean by powerful mage, so we can all get on the same page on how strong that would be in-setting?

• Appearance: Samurai bird.
• Personality: Although she appears to be a cute little girl, Beni-Enma is actually a swordsman with the bearing of a government official. She will earnestly respond to anyone whilst still being respectful no matter who they are, even if she doesn't necessarily approve of their lifestyle. Despite acting like a fair judge, she's a loyal sparrow who will cherish all favours granted to her, and surprisingly introverted despite her activeness.

  • Independent Action: A. The blessing of the Straw Raincoat of the Sage that Beni-Enma wears, which conceals its wearer and alleviates the pressure of the World to erase something which shouldn't exist. This allows her to operate without burdening her Master.
  • Magic Resistance: A. Although Beni-Enma's true nature is as an Assassin, as a Saber she receives high Magic Resistance.
  • Presence Concealment: A. Although class-wise she is a Saber, her true nature is as an Assassin and she boasts high Presence Concealment.
• Personal Skills:
  • Mind's Eye (Fake): A. The instinctive ability to sense danger, also called the sixth sense.
  • Star Basket (Large): EX. The first technique of Enjaku Sewing: the Wicker Basket of Retribution. Two wicker boxes are withdrawn from her coat, one a metre long and the smaller about 30cm. The larger box, given to the enemy, is a container for bad luck (curses) and inflicts them when opened, and yet it still has a slight restorative effect. No matter the enemy it still retains its nature as a gift.
  • Star Basket (Small): EX. The second technique of Enjaku Sewing: the Wicker Basket of Gratitude. The same as the blessing of the sparrow that was awarded to the old man, its contents bring good fortune to those who it is given to. An incredibly strong gift, almost too good to be true... and yet it still has some benefit to the enemy, despite the leverage it should give to Beni-Enma's allies; it's still prepared as a gift for all.
  • Ventriloquism: EX. A skill no more and no less than what it says, trained extensively even to be able to talk with her tongue cut. Such extensive experience makes Beni-Enma exceptional at working around limitations that would be imposed upon her.

  • Type: Anti-Unit
  • Appearance: Albeit normally she has a sword... not a wooden spoon.
  • Effects: The third technique of Enjaku Sewing. A large wicker box is summoned and a parade of one hundred oni (though actually sparrows) is unleashed to confuse the enemy and drag them within the box for judgement. The box is taken to a banquet hall where sparrows take on the appearance of the Ten Kings of Hell wait to make judgement: a single sword stroke from Beni-Enma. Incredibly dangerous to those of Chaotic or Evil alignments, if they can be pulled within the box, yet to those who pass judgement only a hazard through its nature as a cut.
  
  
  • Name: Sparrow Reversal (Suzume Gaeshi)
  • Rank: B
  • Type: Anti-Unit
  • Appearance: N/A
  • Effects: The zeroth technique of Enjaku Sewing. At its heart, it is simply the smallest, deepest iai strike: as the enemy opens their mouth to take a breath, Beni-Enma transforms into her original sparrow size and closes in with imperceptible speed, slicing out their tongue.
    However, battles are not so simple that this can be performed and as such she instead prefaces it with six spinning slashes, only closing in for the final blow when they open their mouth to scream. Aside from the obvious effect, it has the benefit of restricting the opponent's skills temporarily.
    They certainly won't be lying afterwards.

The vampire definitely seemed annoyed at someone writing directly over her, as if it wasn't already obvious enough how tiny she was next to the rest of the knights. Even if she were to appear older... well, she was still looking up towards the Captain and wasn't that annoying? Sometimes she wondered if there should be a maximum height imposed...

"You're broadly right; the housewife tales have a basis but it's just some vampire-by-vampire story getting blown out of proportion. Someone had an allergy, someone else only preyed on their friends, only an idiot would try to swim across a raging river, regeneration or no. Things like that," Tyaethe said, returning to lecture mode and raising the hand with the pointer authoritatively.

"In general, these could be considered universal anti-regeneration and anti-healing tactics. Any injury inflicted by fire is more difficult to heal, especially if the body part is burned to ash, whilst encasing in ice likewise blocks regeneration. The easiest healing is to simply reattach the offending body part; another reason many vampires focus on blood magic. Injuries to the heart should stop almost all enemies, and if you can keep someone's head away from their body then they die soon enough."

Jumping a little to reach, she scratched some amendments, specifically where holy items were concerned. "Any blessed weapon will be effective against the undead and stymie regeneration, it needn't be a flaming one. My sword would be an example, holy water can be considered a very low-intensity version of the same."

"Magic..." to this, she shrugged, "It's not worth considering; you should know whether or not you even have the ability to attempt it, and I'm guessing you don't. If you find yourself vampire hunting, then it's worth seeking out a competent mage."

She paced back and forth for a few seconds before looking at the small audience, "What I want you to take away from this is that rushing into combat with the various magical monsters of the world without thinking is incredibly risky. A powerful black wizard might not have any of the regeneration but they could make it impossible to even get close. Intelligent undead of any stripe will outlast you even if they don't have experience or vast magic. An elven Royal Guard has probably spent centuries training and on the post, even if most of their soldiers are drawn from the citizenry training in their spare time. Dragons..."

Tyaethe trailed off before grinning with a shrug, "Ah, don't worry about dragons. I like dragons."

"If you can't see anything, we should get going," Evelyn said, stubbing out the remains of the cigarette and standing up, "Being up here feels too exposed."

Although it seemed unlikely that anyone was watching them from up here, if they could get on top of a building so easily, what was to say that nobody would have some form of aerial surveillance? She didn't get the idea that mages were big on drones but if everyday people had a way to snoop on rooftops, mages had to have their own ways to do the same.

Elisabeth looked over at Orion, weighing whether it would really be so bad to just jump... except that yes, it definitely was too high to simply leap off. "Fine."

Kintoki didn't seem the slightest bit deterred at his Master's lack of faith in his disguise, or maybe even he thought that blending in was too much to hope for as long as he looked more foreign and less like the legendary hero that he was. Not that Kintoki's bulging muscles would ever help there. "We're going out now? Alright!"

Whether or not Hitomi was entirely ready, she seemed to have set Kintoki in motion, being swept up under one arm and carried out the door immediately--only for the golden man to pause right outside the door and instead put her down on his shoulders. "So, Boss, where to?"
