"Do you think there are underground wolves or something?" Tanja wondered aloud, crouching down to look at the grisly wound on the bird. They were pretty far down, so it wasn't like it could be normal wolves or the like making their way down. Unless wolves knew how to operate elevators? She wasn't sure that this was within their normal abilities but if they could disguise themselves as grandmothers, then... well, who knew what a particularly dedicate one might do. "Or did it come down here with its throat torn out and get killed by mushrooms?"

"I'm still not sure what behaviour is normal in this time..." the robot wondered, standing up again and looking back at Erika.

The order's resident vampire was giving a distinct impression of not wanting to fight, for once, with her posture on a pony being more slouched than anything, and with the parasol propped carefully to block the sun when it ventured out between the clouds. It was quite odd to see such a large sword strapped to the size of such a small horse.

In the current flattened shadows, with the sun hiding behind the clouds, the entire getup appeared like an unfinished picture, horse and rider all black and white.

"Unusual for something so close to the capital to be threatened... anything like orcs would have more warning, and there aren't any external threats." The whole situation was strange.

"Legs? What have my legs got to do with this?" Tanja wondered, cocking her head and looking down at the legs. She hadn't expected anyone to follow her down, especially not in some muscle-headed manner that ought to hurt, "It was just a second or two of flight." There was a frown of concentration and the pale blue lines running along her body turned a vivid pulsing red--the same red as the glow from her jump down, and of the translucent wing-like constructs that briefly appeared behind her. Then it was back to normal. "I... think Professor Weishaupt did flight?"

That got no further explanation with the arrival of the elevators, and especially Erika's worried expression... and pinching. "I'm sorryyyy, elevators are just slow! I need my hand free in case anything attacks us! I'll be good!"

Her other arm was firmly occupied, after all, she couldn't hold Erika's hand and carry her companion and even pretend to aim. That wouldn't work.

Beni-Enma

There was no mistaking the underlying meaning in her Master's words... but that didn't mean that she was going to encourage her any further. Such a flirtatious tongue would only lead her to ruin if not tampered with some common sense and with three Servants already present here, it was a terrible place to be so careless. Beyond that, the tiny Servant was herself interested in the food; she could hardly be called an expert of American-style cuisine. She had even brought a notebook along in case any new information came up.

"That Servant appears to agree. I hope the kitchen can keep up, dechi," Beni-Enma said, lining up beside Erika and hoping her size would make her not attract too much attention. This outfit shared the same practical purpose as her normal clothing but it was so much more... attention-grabbing. And harder to move in, hopefully they wouldn't need to fight.

• Name: Beni-Enma, the Tongue-Cut Sparrow
• Class: Saber
• Appearance: Samurai bird.
• Personality: Although she appears to be a cute little girl, Beni-Enma is actually a swordsman with the bearing of a government official. She will earnestly respond to anyone whilst still being respectful no matter who they are, even if she doesn't necessarily approve of their lifestyle. Despite acting like a fair judge, she's a loyal sparrow who will cherish all favours granted to her, and surprisingly introverted despite her activeness.

  • Independent Action: A. The blessing of the Straw Raincoat of the Sage that Beni-Enma wears, which conceals its wearer and alleviates the pressure of the World to erase something which shouldn't exist. This allows her to operate without burdening her Master.
  • Magic Resistance: A. Although Beni-Enma's true nature is as an Assassin, as a Saber she receives high Magic Resistance.
  • Presence Concealment: A. Although class-wise she is a Saber, her true nature is as an Assassin and she boasts high Presence Concealment.
• Personal Skills:
  • Mind's Eye (Fake): A. The instinctive ability to sense danger, also called the sixth sense.
  • Star Basket (Large): EX. The first technique of Enjaku Sewing: the Wicker Basket of Retribution. Two wicker boxes are withdrawn from her coat, one a metre long and the smaller about 30cm. The larger box, given to the enemy, is a container for bad luck (curses) and inflicts them when opened, and yet it still has a slight restorative effect. No matter the enemy it still retains its nature as a gift.
  • Star Basket (Small): EX. The second technique of Enjaku Sewing: the Wicker Basket of Gratitude. The same as the blessing of the sparrow that was awarded to the old man, its contents bring good fortune to those who it is given to. An incredibly strong gift, almost too good to be true... and yet it still has some benefit to the enemy, despite the leverage it should give to Beni-Enma's allies; it's still prepared as a gift for all.
  • Ventriloquism: EX. A skill no more and no less than what it says, trained extensively even to be able to talk with her tongue cut. Such extensive experience makes Beni-Enma exceptional at working around limitations that would be imposed upon her.

  • Name: Judgement by the Ten Kings, Wicker Box's Fate

  • Type: Anti-Unit
  • Appearance: Albeit normally she has a sword... not a wooden spoon.
  • Effects: The third technique of Enjaku Sewing. A large wicker box is summoned and a parade of one hundred oni (though actually sparrows) is unleashed to confuse the enemy and drag them within the box for judgement. The box is taken to a banquet hall where sparrows take on the appearance of the Ten Kings of Hell wait to make judgement: a single sword stroke from Beni-Enma. Incredibly dangerous to those of Chaotic or Evil alignments, if they can be pulled within the box, yet to those who pass judgement only a hazard through its nature as a cut.
  
  
  • Name: Sparrow Reversal (Suzume Gaeshi)
  • Rank: B
  • Type: Anti-Unit
  • Appearance: N/A
  • Effects: The zeroth technique of Enjaku Sewing. At its heart, it is simply the smallest, deepest iai strike: as the enemy opens their mouth to take a breath, Beni-Enma transforms into her original sparrow size and closes in with imperceptible speed, slicing out their tongue.
    However, battles are not so simple that this can be performed and as such she instead prefaces it with six spinning slashes, only closing in for the final blow when they open their mouth to scream. Aside from the obvious effect, it has the benefit of restricting the opponent's skills temporarily.
    They certainly won't be lying afterwards.
