@Letmehaveone2 Hope I did your living forest some justice lol.
Both brothers whipped around at a sudden flash of light behind them. Whatever it was, it seemed to have happened among the trees some distance off from the path. It was not too near to them, but it was not too far off either.

"W- What was that?" Sky muttered, beginning to tremble.

"I- I really don't know," Blake answered, fearing that it might be a potential threat. "Come on, let's get out of here."

With an arm around his brother, Blake picked up the pace as they continued along the path, until he was frightened by a jump and a short yelp from Sky.

"What's wrong?" Blake urgently enquired.

"S- Something hit my leg," Sky replied, backing away from what appeared to be a root of a large tree.

Blake watched in disbelief as the root seemed to slither across the ground, moving all on its own. He was then in even more of a shock when he looked up to find the branches of the surrounding trees swinging about in still air. He snapped out of it just in time to raise an arm and block one from hitting him right in the face, before raising walls of ice on either side of the path to protect Sky and himself from the attacks. Clearly terrified, the child had started to scream.

The ice walls were not going to hold for long. Blake had to act fast. Grabbing his brother by the waist, he bolted from between the walls just as they were smashed by some of the heavier branches and sprinted along the path while freezing in place any branches that got close to them. Thankfully, he only had to keep it up for a short time, as they had already been rather close to the edge of the forest. Emerging from the trees, Blake slowed to a stop before dropping Sky, his hands resting on his knees as he panted to catch his breath.

Sky then suddenly tugged on his sleeve to get his attention. "Blake, look."

The boy was pointing to a small building in the distance. If one looked carefully, they could see people coming from it. Imagining that it could possibly serve as shelter for the night, Blake decided to cautiously approach the place.

He took his brother by the wrist before they made their way towards the building. "We'll check it out, but stay close to me."

"I'll say," Vera replied to Silas pointing out the irony with another laugh. "Hopefully I can learn to control it a little better soon."

Waving her flashlight across the path, she realized that it had gotten much wider. Were they already back at the crossroads? What was her companion's response to her concern about the fog that wasn't there when she made her first choice? Was he letting her make the next one? How nice of him to have that much confidence in her decision, but oh the pressure... A long sigh escaped her lips. "I know, I just afraid of getting lost, that's all. I guess we can just try the next one we-"

Vera was cut off by a shout in their direction. Squinting through the mist, she could make out two figures sitting on the ground. One of them seemed to be beckoning her and Silas over. She glanced at Silas, a little unsure of whether or not it was a trap, before deciding to approach the figures with caution. She then relaxed when she had gotten close enough to see their faces. From the way the two teenagers were dressed, it looked like they were a couple of the seniors who were actively involved in the event, though probably not anymore, seeing as how the boy had taken some damage from a 'nasty thornbush', as he had put it, and the girl was tearing up.

Vera raised an eyebrow in slight surprise when the male senior explained the situation. "The headmaster? He's in on this too? I thought this was fully a student-run event."

The older blonde's outburst then made Vera jump and stumble back into Silas. She found herself instinctively catching hold of his arm with both of her hands, before looking at him and then quickly letting go while she turned away, slightly embarrassed. However, she was soon over it as she addressed the seniors.

"Oh dear, we definitely will," she told them in concern. "Thank you for telling us the way." Thank you for possibly helping us to win this thing too...

Vera did consider the possibility of this being one big prank to send them down another wrong path, though, as Silas had said, any path they pick would be a guess as good as any other. She then turned to Silas, gesturing to one of the paths the older boy had pointed to. "So... you want to try this one?"

@CriticalHit Time to get us there! I'll see what I can do.
Should I have the trees start smacking people now?

Why do I ask these things when it's my own rp? XD

Also, others can control the trees too if they want.

They'll be frozen trees once they touch Blake or his brother ;)

Rex Salazar

Rex listened carefully as the horned woman started to explain the situation, though, what she had to tell him and the other lost individuals sent a chill down his spine. So apparently this 'Viewer' person somehow had the ability to take people from across universes and drop them all in one place, and she did this for her own entertainment? This made Rex think of Breach again, for she and 'The Viewer' just seemed so similar. He remembered the time when he was taken by Breach and put into some pocket dimension, where he had discovered that she had taken the entire city of Greenville, Ohio, and placed it in the same dimension to keep as her personal dollhouse. So this city they were in, was this the 'dollhouse' of 'The Viewer'?

"The title of 'Champions' first sounded pretty cool," he began. "But from what you're saying, it sounds like we're all just her newest toys or something!"

The horned woman had more information to divulge, but requested that the people present buy her food. Did she really expect anyone who had been plucked from wherever they were and dropped in this strange place to have cash on them for certain? Sure, a couple of them did. One spoke about paying in 'Leaf'? What even was that? Another mentioned that she had 'yen'. Rex recognized that as Japanese currency. He himself usually was not one to carry cash around, considering his job scope, though, he so happened to have some U.S. currency in his pocket at that point of time from a bet with Bobo he had won just earlier on.

Rex walked right up to the stand, curious to know more about what was going on. "Sure Lady, let's chat a little more over some snacks then, shall we?"

Blake had no idea how long he had been driving for. All he knew was that he had somehow driven his way into a dark forest which was not at all familiar to him. What a day it had been, to suddenly discover what his sister had been hiding the whole time. Their parents might even be dead by now, and him? He didn't even know where he was going. He shifted his eyes to what he had left to protect - his younger brother, curled up in the passenger seat beside him.

At a glance, the child appeared serene in his sleep, but one would know better once they noticed the tear stains that ran down his face. That whole incident with Azzurra, or Rossa, back home would have been traumatizing enough for any kid. Sky needed his rest. It was probably a good thing that he was asleep, for the forest would have frightened him for sure. Blake switched his focus back onto the path, thinking of how the atmosphere of the drab, dark forest perfectly echoed his sentiments. He was sufficiently lost in his thoughts to almost miss a red wagon he had driven past. @Assallya

They were then interrupted slightly further up when his black saloon suddenly stopped running. His eyes immediately darted to his fuel gauge, which he had forgotten to check, considering all other worries that had been on his mind. The gauge read 'Empty'. Well, that had to happen at some point, though, it was just inconvenient that it had to be before they made it out of the forest. Sky stirred awake just as Blake let out a deep sigh of frustration.

"Hmm... where are we?" The boy mumbled sleepily, rubbing his eyes.

"I don't know," the elder replied. "But there's no way we can go on in here."

"Huh? Why did we stop?"

"The car's out of fuel, Sky."

"You can fix it, right? You always do."

"Not this time. Not without a supply of gas."

"But-"

"Just because I'm the older brother, doesn't mean I can do everything. I'm sorry Sky, but we're going to have to continue on foot."

Sky looked around and shuddered slightly as he climbed out of the car. "Th- This place is scary..."

Blake quickly went around the vehicle to his brother and put a comforting hand on his back. "Just stay close to me, alright?"

The teen wanted to add a 'You'll be safe.', but he dared not, no matter how badly he wanted to, or how badly he wanted that statement to be true. In their situation he unfortunately could promise Sky nothing. Like he said before, older brothers could not do everything.
