Einzbern Manor - Forest Clearing
@Sageage@Cu Chulainn@Seirei No Hai

What is a saber without a sword? What is a hero if they only have one hand to lift themselves up? What is a future when you're fighting off death? Roland had all these things to think about as he stood there in a forest clearing, knowing well that the other two servants were watching. But he didn't care. This was to him, a way to let out a great deal of stress. And to clear his mind. After all, what thinking could he do when he was still learning to get used to his one good arm. In fact, his mind felt sluggish. The poison at work still, but as for his body.

That was still fast. Painfully fast. When he moved, he had to move in measured steps, since he could literally move faster than his mind was willing to accept. But here, he could focus on a target, and when his mind caches up, the target was gone. In this case, it was the lone tree in the clearing, which showered around him as particles of sawdust. A tree branch struck the ground to his side, reflexes picking up on it only after it had fallen. At least the few rocks still standing around made easy targets.

That rock exploded, with stones bouncing off his armor, and his hand feeling nothing. Turning, he attacked another rock, tearing through it like paper. But he could tell he was being watched, if not by Olivier, than by the other servant.
"You know, I haven't felt this low since the day I died." He said, speaking hopefully to his source of wisdom. "At least then I knew why I was dying. At least then I had a purpose. The angels themselves told me so. At least I chose where I could sit down and die." Roland continued, picking up a rock and crushing it in his hand. "What am I suffering for? For battle? For somebody else's glory?" He realized such thoughts were unlike him. But until now, he had always been so sure of his direction. Sure, this was a war. Sure he had a lord to serve under. But were they really the same? For one, he actually saved lives in those wars. Here he watched them die. And as he had been safe at the Einzbern residence, he had seen that man, Achilles, hero of the trojan war, destroy the city. And he hated that. Because... Maybe it was jealousy. This idea of finally seeing another hero in action, that made him... Spiteful. That's the word.

"I am without my sword." He said, before turning to his fellow Saber. "And for once, I have no clear future. How exciting. What a glorious thing to add to my story when I conquer the odds."

"Of course she's alive." Xerxes lifted the hatch to the church basement, and stepped out with a sigh. "She's a servant, and an Oni. The same I guess, that removed your arm on the first night. And is responsible for the lack of your second arm." He said, already gesturing for Tesla to follow, and to put down the Oni girl onto a pew or something nearby. "I hope you'll accept my apology, but I did check in on you after the incident. Your current state is... Rather unhealthy to your core." He was already collecting the materials from a nearby cupboard, and several strips flesh he planned to mold onto the injured Tesla.

He began by scooping out the debris, which was sure to cause infection. Not that a servant could get sick in the way other could, but it was best to clean up the area first. Before he started stitching up the wound. "I'm noticing some darkening of the skin along the sides of the wound. Some kind of poison?" Xerxes asked, raising an eyebrow. As he brushed his fingers along the damaged area, he could tell the skin was slightly thicker. "It's different from the Oni's poison, so I suspect it may be something you picked up before or after you fell into the river." He was already making a mental note to investigate the water supply. Might be poisonous run off from the fire, but unlikely. Poisoning the water supply was bad news, and he wasn't fond of the idea of having to hunt down the person responsible.

He realized pretty quickly that Tesla was more obsessed with his arm than any degree of small talk, which was rather annoying considering the archer should be more thankful for his work. But, for now, he just had to operate in peace.
This sounds fun, you have my interest. Would we be voting for our Captain, or just first come first serve?

So much destruction. Xerxes remained seated in his workshop, and sitting in front of him, were five gemstones. He didn't speak about it, not out loud though. No, these five gemstones were worth quite a deal now, and he wasn't a fool who wasted such valuable things on mere whims. No, he'd be holding onto these for as long as he could.

To his right was a chalice, and despite his best attempts, he had discovered very little. Almost nothing new came from that. Instead, he had spent only a short period sleeping, getting the rest he needed, and the other hours he had spent peering into that goblet and pondering his next course of action.

"I see, welcome back, Berserker." Xerxes said, as the massive man appeared behind him. "You did well. I think we might be on to something useful." Xerxes said, already holding the cup again to peer about into its contents. "You're truly the best servant I could ask for." Though he had to admit, in a brief period of time he had also peeked in on Tesla, that poor man. Well, if asked for it, Xerxes knew quite a few things about love. He had quite a few many lovers in his lifetime, though he was never all that sure if he should brag about it. Most could have been called whores.

But in his other hand, he held the letter from Ruler. A challenge to find the man responsible for this. In a way, it was not only something he could handle, but something he relished the challenge of. And what he could get out of it. Two more command seals, how useful for dealing with Berserker.

But, there was one problem. The people in need. He justified his lack of involvement to Ludwig, but even Xerxes knew it was shallow at best. He dare not get involved, since the people were being cared for and a mage's involvement in helping them would only make them targets. Logically sound, but still it might not work forever.

"Right, Berserker. First thing first is to keep our eyes open. I may send you out later to investigate some leads. In your... Personal method of doing so." Xerxes said, reaching up to pat the large man on the shoulder. "Do make sure to be gentle. The people have suffered enough." A lie. He cared little for the people of Fuyuki. He only wanted their belongings, which he could no longer claim since the storm had wiped away so much of it. He had to move on. Search out other things of value. "You're a good boy like that~"

But for now, he had a letter to write.

I'm not sure if Indra was clear about this when you were working on this concept, but we're not accepting reincarnations or jinchuuriki at this time. So the premise of Mu's backstory is very much contradicting this. I think this misunderstanding could've been avoided if Indra made that clear in the rules or questions about such a high concept brought to the GM staff's attention prior to you spending time writing up the idea.

On top of this, we are not accepting “??” ranks. Indra is asking for prodigies to have three C ranks at the most, so anything higher will immediately be subject for application rejection. So if you are going to revise Mu keep that in mind. I'd also like to mention that we are starting as academy students and not genin; even if graduation is around the corner.

The ??? ranks were mostly because they're must the means of utilizing genjutsu. Since I don't want to get hyper specific with what is essentially illusions that can change depending on the setting.

As for the reincarnation thing, it's a split personality. She's not actually a reincarnation. Those of the Kurama clan with superior genjutsu power all form split personalities, and the clan believes these split personalities are their ancestors, and thus the personality takes after that belief.

I can adjust her abilities concerning all this. Thank you for the heads up.

Probably too strong, but this is what I have at the moment for a girl with genjutsu so powerful it kills.

Roland adjusted his cloak once more, doing his best to hide the bleeding. His hand brushed against the spot where blood dripped along his armor, and he pulled away so that he could look to Olivier. "It's nothing. Just a little poison and a missing arm." He said, though it seemed like he didn't even believe that. "My uncle won't be happy about it. What a farce. A paladin, losing his arm and sword and in one motion." He laughed, but it was clear he wasn't laughing at the humor of the situation. "We should-"

"If you all have come here looking for a battle, I will warn you that you didn't bring enough men!"

"Naturally, we have her. We don't need more men." Roland laughed, gesturing to the other Saber class servant on his side. It probably wasn't wise to tease the other servant, but considering Roland's current state, it was a terrible idea. Thankfully, it seemed Olivier did know what to say, and they were expected.

Roland rolled his eyes at the needless show of strength. But he was indeed jealous. He saw that strength, and despite all this, he wanted to fight this man. This other 'saber' servant was a true warrior. A true obstacle. Once he retrieved his sword, he knew without a doubt that he would fight this man. He wanted to fight another hero, and prove to his master that he wasn't weak. Maybe that was just his bruised ego talking.

"You don't need to show off." Roland grumbled out, leaning onto Olivier for support.
Will the OOC be opening up soon?

So what clans are left? It seems most of the major ones are used up.
I have a pretty good Lancer up for grabs. If anybody is interested.

Roland was sure that as he leaned to the side that the Oni's blade would miss him completely. Except, it seemed she had managed to adjust just enough mid-swing that she did hit something. Because as he swung his fist, he found there wasn't a fist to swing. In fact, he couldn't feel a thing. Except for a lancing pain that pushed through his body. His senses exploded and it felt for a moment like everything was on fire. He could feel certain skills slipping away from him, despite feeling a growing strength. This pain, why did it...?

He had no arm, and sword. Instead, as a kick was aimed at his chest, his one good arm was raised up, letting the strike smack into it as he struck back. His power had risen from the flames and the pain, causing them to both cancel out. But even then, he slid back several feet, landing forward on his one arm to take the weight, as he tried to ignore the pain that rushed through him like galloping horses. Was he dying? Would the angels come to him again? No, he wouldn't allow that! He was about to rise, to fight on, but then...

“Return to me, Saber!”

Roland let out a sigh, realizing then that he was retreating. From a fight like this it seemed only important, since his own bravery would just get him killed. His body vanished into blue smoke, returning to his spirit form as it was the only possible thing for him now. It was better that than the continued pain.

He appeared before his master, returning in a blue glow of light. A hand drifted to the stump of a shoulder, before pulling away. He didn't speak, for at that moment what could he say. But simply admit that he had been robbed, disarmed, and humiliated in such a way. He could manage for now, since as long as he could move, he could fight. He could continue the battle later.

Taking his master's arm, he slung him into his grip, a smile on his lips. "I haven't returned to you yet. My other arm is still lagging behind. Until then, I shall make sure you are safe." Roland said, already running ahead. He didn't need to, but he could. A part of him desired to survive. After all, he had survived worse. He remembered his own death, and how he had been responsible for that.

They arrived in the forest, and ahead he could see her. Olivier ahead of him. Placing his master down, he adjusted his cloak, to hide the wound. Stepping closer, a sigh left his lips. "Olivier... I need your wisdom now, more than I ever have before."

Xerxes took a mask from the shelf, stretching out the rubber, and placing it over his mouth. He hadn't told Ludwig, but he had run tests on all the belongings in the church for poisons ahead of time, and was positive the only poison they had to worry about was the one in his, and only his, possession. Well that and the Oni Tesla had spoken of earlier. But unless he sought her out, he doubted he would have to worry about her.

"Ludwig, I am sure you know not to speak of what I have told you to anybody else." Xerxes said, letting his gaze drift to the boy. "Despite it all, I do desire to be able to live in privacy, without others seeking to discover the means of my magic." He added, patting the younger mage on the back. He wouldn't say it, not until he had his talons in deep enough that it didn't matter anymore. But he saw use in Ludwig. If his sources were correct, the boy could help him change the magical world.

They left the church, but they'd be blind fools not to immediatly notice the missing bridge. Or the golem made from it that could be seen trampling about in the horizon. Xerxes knew immediately which mage could pull it off, or at least of the ones he knew about. "Ludwig, we may have to destroy the bridges. The fire is spreading, and even from this distance I can tell it is cursed." Xerxes remained close to his berserker, his heart skipping a beat. If he could get closer, he could pull the grudges and curses from that flame. He could use it, become master of it. But, could he risk getting close, since there were no doubt opportunists or servants traveling about.

"Berserker, I need you to find the bridges, and put them in the gate. Do you understand?" Xerxes said, watching the big man stomp off. Hopefully with the duo following close behind. Should the fires get close enough for him, he had a collection of jewels just perfect for these fires. "Ludwig, are you sure you want to risk the trip over? The fire may soon spread to Shinto if we cannot stop it here."
