Gunthar

Gunthar continued his rhythmically strikes until a crashing noise in front of him rung, instinctively, he raised both arms and pick upwards to prevent the cave-in. He alone was fine but with others...

The crushing weight didn't came as he slowly looked around in the dark, and then only noticing the light in front him.

But there was no one acting as light.

So where was the light coming from?

Engrossed in those thoughts, Gunthar barely noticed as the other two walked past him and explore the front. Taking slow steps behind, Gunthar looked around and realized it was a cave system.

It certainly was a good day then, his wish actually came true. Something different, caves are fun and since he found it, he can keep going through it without any problem from the guards. At least until they lay the tracks, then it'll be the same boring path.

So deep in his thoughts, he didn't realize Talia brushed her fingers against the floating light of orb.

When it happened, the wind swirled despite it being indoors, and worse, the ball of light began to destabilize. The voice that filled the air only served to add confusion as Gunthar placed himself between the light. Careful to not let anything happen to those behind him.

As it was, when the light turned into a Satir instead, it left him speechless as he stared at her for a moment before she awkwardly stumbled and fell into the ground.

A moment hung between them before Gunthar made the first move, footstep careful as he nudged the purple Satir gently before scooping her up like a child. Being much careful as he turned towards the others with a nod.

"Take care." He said and raised the satir to Talia, figuring that it was best she take care of her.
@Enkryption

That'll be in the dice god hands then.

Hopefully him coming in the bright day light makes them think he's an idiot and underestimate him.

Even if it's a camp fight, the geography means there's only one path (Unless I'm wrong.) and it's limited enough that at worse, even though Gringor will hate it, he can run away and can't get flank.

Gringor was built for dueling and fighting against groups of mobs. So this is his field.

I initially thought of sneaking but that's honestly not going to work.

Granted, I prob should have Gringor waited till its night time for the duel but what done is done.
@PaulHaynek

Basically, Gringor is asking for a stand off (Ghost of Tsushima mechanic, for those who don't know.).

Skarsneek of the Red Hill

Skarsneek panted, sweat dripping and wetting his hair as he rubbed it away from getting into his eyes. Seeing the defeated form of his opponent, it took an agonizing amount of restraint to just not kick him into the river.

"I'm fine, it grazed me but it didn't take much." He used his club to prop himself up. Well, this idea of getting new homes better be paying off...

Then hearing that there's no one else in the house besides Varjan, that had a chilling realization as Skarsneek gritted his teeth.

Looking towards the large bonfire, he quietly moved there and used his club to shove away the burning debris. Hoping that he was wrong and that they had fled instead.

Gringor of the Ironhide tribe

Moving upwards, Gringor climbed the gentle slope lazily. Opting to stay out of sight as he looked towards the camp based on the small plateau.

Hmm. Tapping his axe, he saw the five of the warriors that the mad hatter brought back. Seeing them and feeling the raised hair on his nape. His guts told him enough, and it was the same when he fought those tough halberd soldiers. With five of them instead of three.

That had his blood boiled, it was a fight slanted against him.

And that was the best kind of fight.

So many ways to start.

The smaller fries was a pain, not worth but decorum says he'll have to get rid of them first.

Yet, he just wanted to dig into the good stuff right away.

Studying the area, it was uphill and they had the high ground.

But it also meant that they can't leave and run to the sides to flank him, the mountain prevents that, the ground was also a distance away and the exits a small one too which he already got. Not to mention they're all penned in.

At least there were no archers.

Or do it the old way?

Gringor smiled as he walked upwards, in full view of the camp. Brazen, daring, and foolish, Gringor kept to it as he saw them reacting to his presence and moving to arm themselves.

"BRING OUT YOUR STRONGEST, GRINGOR IRONHIDE IS HERE!" With a loudly bellow, Gringor raised a fist before settling it down on one of the five warriors of the heavenly strike.

The Varjans, they won't bother to play this game. They like war, large fights, big fights. Every trick and every move. Gringor can respect that.

Zipangnese, the Shizuyamans, like the underboss, they however play this game. A duel, strong against strong. They have to. Just like when he challenged other High Orcs, they accept or lose some face.

Which was why he challenged, upfront, where they had nowhere else to go but through him. Swarming him will only get them in each other way.

With that done, Gringor got ready for whatever they were prepared to do. They're trapped in one area after all.
Doing good for me, take care of yourselves and rest up yea?

Xiao Shan

Xiao Shan rubbed the back of her head, tilted to the sides. Looks like she was quite literal in her understanding.

Though when she mentions a challenge, that had her stood straight and arms crossed. Ears perked up as Xiao Shan resisted the urge to twitch when Yuying reached into her pockets. Especially so when it's three small jars, and one fit for throwing despite the string wrapping around the thick waxed paper at the top.

Seeing her juggle them quickly before a quick toss towards her, Xiao Shan caught it gently and catching the top part instead of the body of the jar.

This was the worst kind of challenge, one of wit rather than force.

Well, for a Tang, she supposes this was par for the course.

After all, it's possible that she just passed her the poison one. That's the obvious move, but what if it's the one without poison? That was also a possibility.

For all she knows, all of it could be poisoned and she wouldn't know better. More so since it's highly likely Yuying has the antidote. Yet she also seems honest, in her own way. Otherwise why even pose the challenge in the first place?

Well, only way to go forward.

Xiao Shan unwrap, took a sniff, gulped and bottoms up the liquid contents of the jar down her gullet. Taking an exaggerated swig as she used her training to drink it all down in one singular gulp.

Though her other free arm rested behind her body and out of Yuying sight, Xiao Shan focused on every skin pore and qi she had. Ready to expunge the liquid she just drunk if it was poison.

After all, Yuying said to drink it all but never said she can't purge it right away. It's within the spirit of the challenge.

Gunthar

Gunthar dragging the cart halted when he heard his name mentioned, his actual name and not the number assigned to him.

Turning towards it and seeing Talia, Dante and Fenn, asking if it's okay for them to follow. Gunthar shrugged and nodded.

"Okay." His deep voice echoed out and continued to place the fully filled cart, took new ones, return and showed the way. Once close enough, he gestured to them with a wave and a good distance away from the end of it. Their light barely able to see it and Gunthar showing them so they know how fast they needed to stay away."Here, I work."

"Pick any you want. I break fast, so no worry." He said, it wasn't exactly his job to find the correct minerals or ores anyway. His job was to break things apart so he usually just leave it to the others to sort it out.

That done, Gunthar went back and continued his endless work of boring fresh tunnels. His pickaxe gouging and biting deep into the rocks and walls, the thunderous sound echoing and ringing as he rent his way.

Perhaps he might dig into something interesting, another cave perhaps? That was fun, but rare. Breaks the monotony.

Xiao Shan

Well, this is odd. Xiao Shan thought to herself as she rubbed the back of her head, ruffling her wild hair as she looked at the spectacle unfolding in front of her.

Tang Yuying is certainly living up her name as the mad woman as she glanced to the people gathered and used for whatever she intended. That she noticed her appearance despite being a first-time meeting also demonstrated this was no simpleton, there was skill behind that madness or eccentricity.

What kind of techniques does she use though? Perhaps poison? Or something far more insidious-?

Ah, she's going off-course. Xiao Shan cleared her throat and spoke in a much more reserved tone.

"There's a poster requesting that you're to be found and brought in." Xiao Shan said before letting parting her arms wide. "So here I am."

"So follow me and let me bring you in." She bluntly stated to Tang Yuying and thumbed back to where the Golden River Inn was. "You can run afterward."

Honestly, it was the best arrangement, she gets paid, Tang Yuying doesn't waste energy and focus more on running while still having a chance to escape. A win win scenario in Xiao Shan opinion.

Skarsneek of the Red Hill

Hissing as his attack was bat aside, Skarsneek continued his assault nonetheless. He cannot afford to let up the pressure, otherwise-!

A spear being thrown towards him at a speed faster than it should, Skarsneek didn't even had the time to evade and swung both of his weapon to intercept it. At this point, he moved with pure instinct and caught the spear. Yet such was the speed that he barely glanced it away and it cut his arm instead.

Gritting his teeth, Skarsneek used the momentum to spun around and combined both club into his quarterstaff in one smooth motion before thrusting outwards.

From Kalaj perspective, it was like Skarsneek's club had extended forward into a blur as it was aimed squarely to the chest. The blow struck directly at his armor. Most of all, he took special care to avoid any head on clashes with his flaming sword.

Now with an additional reach, Skarsneek utilized it to the fullest by striking Kalaj wrist and fingers. Even with armor, it'll break or disable his sword arm, especially since despite goblins small stature, they possess a grand amount of strength to lift clubs that are usually as big as their body.

Hopefully, Kerry might get another weapon or intervene.

Gringor of the Ironhide tribe

"Youz the underboss, and this is your scrap." Gringor pointed out the obvious with a raised brow, despite his behavior, Gringor was ultimately here for the fights, and not to command. That was Takeshi's job, he has to get his opinion first before doing his own thing. He was not a savage after all. "I won't mind if you make me underboss."

"Well, youz gonna miss a fun scrapping then. I'll save some for youz if you do come." Gringor uttered in a mangled zipangese as he watched Takeshi left to go for the mad boi.

It wasn't to his taste but he was not one to judge. Some people like to stick in crazy.

Eyes turned to where the Alice general direction of where she was headed, Gringor then got onto all fours like a dog and sniffed the ground exactly like one. Taking a sniff of the air, the scent of the Alice was finally picked out. It was a day old, which meant it was the old track.

Shrugging and rolling his shoulders as he stood back up, he gave a meaty whack to his neck. Seems like it'll be a tough scrap. The technique itself was a secondary concern, no, his focus was purely the opponent that shall meet him on the way.

Gringor slammed his fist together as he trudged fearlessly, grinning from ear to ear.

This was exactly what he lived for then.
