"I told them to head for Terauchi Temple, and that the yokai are harmless. Well, at least to the locals." He explained. "However, I also learned that they were from the survivor camp that we are heading to. The illness struck when they gave all their food to a Varjan patrol that found them."

"Wait, that village got sick after the Varjans found them?", questioned Kerry, eyes narrowing in suspicion. All of this was sounding less like a naturally occurring contagious bug and more like a deliberately planned tactic to spread a plague throughout the island. Now that she thought about it, was it a good idea to send the hostage group back toward the temple? They seemed well enough, but...

"Right you are, madam yokai. We are on our way towards a survivor camp that is in dire need of a healer. The camp has been afflicted with an illness that I do not know yet and I must be there to properly take care of it." The monk replied to Eula. "I know you said you wanted to return to the temple, but why not join us in our mission? Traveling with a group is much better than going at it alone."

The hornet turned to get a proper look at Eula and, upon noticing her right arm, gave a slight wince. Kerry had spent enough time with Relica and the other tech-heads back in Grelden to know a thing or two about Automatons. Specifically, she learned about how damage an Automaton can take before said damage gets to a point where it actively restricts and limits her performance and requires much needed repairs. Given the condition of her right arm, and despite the clear attempt to repair it, Eula wouldn't be able to perform at full strength.

"I would very much like a third member to our team, but....", she spoke, turning to Relica. "You're the expert here, Rel. Is Eula still good to go?

"You had one job. One. You been slacking off after you left Grelden, Cury? That axe-ham shoulda been a cinch for someone like you to knock out, but noooo~! Now I'm down one drone and I haven't even been here for half a day yet."

"Oh no. Relica is down a drone. Oh, the mamono-manity. Whatever shall we do? We are powerless. This surely spells the end for us all.", Kerry replied as she rested Dusk on her shoulders, voice 100% in sarcastic monotone before rolling her eyes like she had been on the receiving end of a Relica-loaded tirade before......and that's because she has been on the receiving end of a Relica-loaded tirade before.

10 times, as a matter of fact.

"Done with your tantrum, Rel? How was I supposed to know one good stab wasn't enough to take him out? Not every enemy goes down in one hit, you know that as well as I do. 'Sides, you can fix it. And if not.....well, those crates may have enough materials for you to make more. Drones are replaceable. Lives aren't."

Done with her statement, Kerry then turned to the newly arrived member of their quest with a smile.

"Hey. I don't think we've properly met before. Name's Kerry. Nice timing on your entrance, by the way. We were kinda stuck on what to do before you came along."

Batting the shield away before delivering a wind empowered flip kick to the Varjan's jaw, Kerry landed gracefully as her enemy went high into the air before falling to ground in a heap, knocked out and out of the fight. Turning to her side, the hornet would find the axe-throwing Varjan on the ground, twitching and convulsing as one of Relica's drones dove into the leg of another Varjan that was knocked aside by the Elite, pinning him. Seeing that the Elite was now on his own, she quickly turned her gaze toward the peasants.

"If you're not going to help, then don't just stand there. Head for the temple, it's not far. Get going!", Kerry shouted at them before engaging the Elite, stepping hard on the head of the downed Varjan so he doesn't try anything if the hostages make their escape. As the Varjan leader kicked Eula away, Kerry would approach from the side and aimed a fast thrust for his ribs.

"I keep tellin' ya, Curry. Your butt ain't a weapon."

"I was talkin' about my two spears, smartass, but I'm flattered that you've been staring.", quipped Kerry, quick as a whip. Still, the situation at hand had them in a bind, so unless a third party showed up, there was no way to safely help the locals-

And then a third party showed up.

Huh.....Neat. Odd timing, but neat.

"Wha- What the what!? Oh, oh! Curry, go! Now! I'll back you up with the drones! Take out that axe-thrower first so they can't hurt the yokels if they run!"

"Alright, alright! I'm going!", replied the hornet as she rushed out of the bush and swung around the side so that the Varjans wouldn't see her coming while they were distracted.

That Elite is the biggest threat, but once the goons are out of the picture, he shouldn't be that much of a hassle to deal with., she thought to herself, drawing out Dusk as she ran past the startled peasants and made a thrust at the axe-wielding Varjan.

"Surprise, assholes!"

Kerry almost gave their position away by nearly laughing out loud when Relica called her by that nickname. Ever practical and literal.

"Hey, I don't have just one weapon. I got two, in case you forgot. But you are right about this situation.", Kerry replied as she joined Relica and monk in hiding. "If I had to wager a guess, I'd say we're dealing with three Warriors and....the one with the tassels is either a Warrior with delusions of grandeur or an Elite who's been rather busy, though why would one be way out here and with such a rag-tag group? Either way, as you said, all it takes is for one of them to be smart and take a hostage, no matter what we do. However, if we had a third member...."
