Personal Style: Flynn's personal style outside of the military outfit he wears while on duty is usually quite simple looking. He dislikes overly high fashionable or impractical clothing. He keeps his hair relatively short. He dislikes wearing hats or glasses of any kind and unless it's due to mission conditions he wouldn't bother with either. He had pondered getting rid of it a few times, but always decides against in the end.

Personality: Flynn is a rather direct kind of person. He dislikes overt scheming or overly complicated plans. He prefers things nice, direct and simple. As simple plans usually work best. Naturally he's aware that missions take priority over his own opinions, but if a plan is set in motion, he usually has a backup thought up for when everything goes wrong. That very plan B is usually just the type he likes.
Planning aside, he's a nice enough person, good and loyal to his friends. As someone who became a professional soldier, he established a deep bond with all of his colleagues. He's ready to go into fire for them every damn day if he has to. That said he holds his grudges and he holds them well. He wouldn't go over the law to exact his revenge, but if an opportunity suitable enough appears, he's sure to take it. Overall he's fast on his feet, quick thinker that can be a little stubborn at times over stupid things, but he is what he is and he is set in his ways so far.

Reason to join the SGC: When Flynn was approached for the SG program, he wasn't given much information about it. He didn't even get much of a name about it really. He was given little time to think it over too. Finally after a few minutes of agonizing thinking, he decided to agree. The reasoning was simple, they must have chosen him for a reason and he could help his country. Besides a secret project was probably more exciting than occasional piloting. He didn't have an idea how right he was at the time.
History: Flynn's story is a rather common one all things considered. He was born in a middle class family in Washington, his father was a professional soldier and his mother was a teacher. They lived well and while they weren't the richest, they were never in need of money. Since very young he followed in his father's footsteps in many ways, including his passion for classical literature. They had a little bit of an argument after he joined the military also and went for the Air force while his father was with the Marines, but they sorted that one rather quick. Since then he's been in a few different tours and has performed excellently enough to attract the attention of the Stargate Program. Still because the nature of his work with the program, he never entered in a lasting relationship, but at the end of the day he takes solace in the fact that his work is important and he'd take going through the stargate every day over settling down.
