Location: Arkham, Massachussets, United States of America. Hit Points: 12 Sanity Points: 51 Luck: 50 Mental State: Sane Skill: EDU Roll 83
Most times some controlled breathing or a little bit of prayer was enough for Charlie to clear his mind, of which he found himself needing to do more and more nowadays; tonight though a walk was in order. As he sauntered up and down Arkham's streets he thought a bit on the downward tendency of his mental state. He should be happy (or at least relatively so) now that he had a job once again, no longer a vagrant in priests clothing wandering in search of a new purpose. However the once holy man had found the downtime his new profession seemed to afford was doing more harm than good. Blips and snippets of nightmares would worm their way into both his waking and slumbering mind making his question their validity and if they were some way to deal with the shell shock of war or his time in Alberta or perhaps they were more genuine and less subjective visions clawing their way back into his conscious mind. Father C stopped this train of thought as he approached closer to his, for now, home. His walk proved to be less useful than he'd hoped so rather than waste the energy, the would-be holy man decided to retire for the night.
Entering his nice (enough) apartment, Father C locked up the many locks on his door, dropped his keys and wallet on his dresser and looked to his bed, its warm embrace calling out to him. As he sat down though his mind began to drift once more to his musings earlier in the night which drew his eyes to his Rifle displayed prominently on a rack on the wall. Father C wasn't a fan of violence since the war, he wouldn't shy away from it though and it never hurt to keep one's means of defence in top shape. Pushing back the deeper thoughts on his own mental well being, Charlie stood up and took his gun down along with his tools for cleaning the armament. Before finding god this was about as close to prayer that Charlie had and even in his current state, cleaning or working with his gun was a tried and true method of keeping his mind off of anything but it.
In a matter of moments though, Charlie's eyes were assailed by sunlight and he found his rifle looking as good as new in his hands. With an unintended smile, Charlie rose from his seat to put the gun back and headed once more for the door, only popping back into the apartment to release some caught bugs into Fred's enclosure before heading out proper. Charlie extended pleasantries to his neighbours as they did the same but turned his full attention to fiddling with his keys to retrieve his mail. His eyes lit up a little as a letter from TIME graced his tired face. Finally he'd have something else to keep his mind occupied.
Charlie rode his bike into work this morning, hoisting it up and through the doorway of the agency's front as he heard Miss Babson speak. "Thank God. Been itchin' for some work around here, hard to not feel a little useless when you're just waltzing around town all day trying to keep busy, eh?" Charlie replied, leaning his bike up against the wall in the front office as his eyes fell on the clock. Cripes, really need to get a watch or somethin' the pastor thought as he rushed for the back but made an effort not to disturb the meeting's current attendants. It seemed like he was one of the last to arrive so the pastor quickly took his seat as Harry spoke.
On the topic of this Mr.Cornthwaite, Charlie was as hopeless as a rat in a trap. Nonetheless, Father C tried to compensate for his tardiness by giving the produced papers a once over and add to the conversation at hand. "I may be readin' a little too far into it but Mr.Cornthwaite was last seen on the 7th but we the letter from Mr.Dodge was sent at the end of the month. I know people don't go missin' over night but that seems like quite a while to sit on suspicions of such a man goin' missin' even if the police were involved." Father C paused for a moment before turning to address Harry more directly "we got any idea when the sheriff made his investigation? My point might be moot if nobody thought Mr.Cornthwaite missing till later."
Giving the paper clipping a deeper look as well, Father C quickly chirped up one more point, addressed to the group as a whole "Also, I'd like to take a look at the library at some point. Might be worth rifling through the the donations Mr.Cornthwaite made, assuming it wasn't all monetary of course."
Father C slumped back in his chair a bit, not wanting to remove himself from the conversation at hand but also not wanting to dominate it, Lord knows he was prone to it. As he sat he wracked his brain on the Dodge Brothers. He could have sworn he'd heard that name before but maybe he was just mistaken...
REQUESTING TO ROLL EDU CHECK FOR INFO ON DODGE BROTHERS
Sorry for the wait again, just finished up my post this morning before seeing the new post. Gonna read the new one and rework what I've got so I can it up today.
Location: Angel Grove Community Event Interacting w/: @Crimson Flame
Work was killing Nick. When you were trying to make a sale it felt like the world was ending and when there wasn't a customer around it was like being stuck on Alcatraz, stuck by yourself with nothing to do. That's why Nick had been looking forward to the Community Event for the past two months. As he finally entered the grounds Nick realized just how little he'd be socializing the past couple months, with his family clearing out of town and most of his old friends doing the same or losing contact, Nick was looking forward to meeting some new people and seeing some old faces.
Speaking of new (or old) faces, Nick quickly found himself getting his face kissed and picture taken before even realizing what was going on. It took Nick a moment to recognize who was talking to him, more than a little secretly embarrassed that he could forget someone who dressed this bombastically. Just as they finished asking about uni, Nick recognized Ryan and put things together.
"Ryan! Hey yeah no. I'm still figuring things out on the school front, don't want to jump the gun and get two years into a degree I hate." Nick chuckled a bit, crossing his arms over his chest. "What about you? You still doing the theatre stuff?"
Physical description Height:5'4" Weight:160 lbs Build:Lean Eyes:Blue Hair:Long and Unkempt Brown Skin Tone:White, often tanned Tattoos/Scars/Piercings: His Military ID number is tattooed on his forearm, shrapnel scars on lower back. Personal Style: Father C doesn't care much for style. His slacks are raggedy, his shoes have wear and some are one good scuff away from no longer holding water but the most striking bit of permanent apparel is his battered cassock. The bottom of the garb is mostly torn away, now looking closer to a very worn and long shirt rather than the cloth of a man of the cloth.
Sexuality: Heterosexual Relationship Status: Single Personality: Charlies fits into the stereotype of the old drunk, sans the drinking (mostly). He'll talk your ear off about any topic that catches his fancy whether that be his faith, another's faith, snowshoeing or whatever his obsession of the day is. That being said, his fits of gleeful conversation can be shut off like a light when the topic of the Great War or his path to his previous profession is brought up. The priest will talk on both subjects but his gusto for speech won't be present.
Despite his aversion to speaking on the subject of war, Charlie is a soldier through and through. When the going gets tough, Father C gets tougher, reluctantly thriving under hardship. His knee jerk reaction to terror is not to run but to confront, even if he reneges on his decision almost immediately. Wether through luck or being a sound response, this fighting instead of fleeing kept Father C alive during the war and he has yet to (or find a need to) break this habit. Habits: Poorly recite verses, tap fingers, look around wildly Hobbies: Cleaning his Rifle as well as making minor modifications, rereading the bible, long walks Greatest fear:

History
What brought you to the detective agency, and why are you still there: What brings anyone to any job? Gotta make a living somehow and I just don't really have the heart to be a proper priest anymore. Besides, maybe seeing some of tricks behind the curtain will help me work up the nerve to go home again... For now though I'm more than content using my what I know to help out my fellow man in my own way thanks to TIME. Life before current day: Charlie Forsythe was born and raised in Vancouver Canada to a pair of loving parents. His life was a good one, full of hardwork but a consistent yearning for greatness. At a young age, Charlie wanted to become a legend like his idol Allan Quartermain.
Charlie would get his chance at supposed greatness when the Great War broke out and the freshly minted eighteen year old enlisted right away to do his part in fighting for global justice. Over the gruelling years though, Charlie's lofty goals of going down in history quickly changed to just wanting out of the conflict. The horrors of war took its toll on Charlie with his only constant solace coming from the couple of verses he'd heard from those who knew the good book better than him.
After the war, Charlie threw himself into his new passion of following the lord. He began learning to be a priest at a small town church in Alberta. He studied, preached and did some fulfilling work during those years but in the blink of an eye it was all gone. Charlie couldn't tell you what happened to make him leave town, all he remembers is something earth-shatteringly terrible happened and at this point he is happy with not knowing what happened. Compounding the mysterious nature of the event was the fact that Charlie hadn't heard from or about any of his old acquaintances since his own mysterious departure. Finding himself without a purpose, Charlie roamed the continent, making his way all the way down to the Mexican border before being approached with an opportunity.
Father C was exactly sought out by TIME, a representative of the company was looking for new recruits for a new branch and the wandering priest seemed like he might have some relevant skills for some of the cases the agency went after. Joining a detective agency wasn't initially in the cards for the would-be priest but fed up with being purposeless, Charlie accepted the job offer and the rest is history. Your belief in/encounters with the supernatural: Charlie isn't really sure what he believes. Whatever happened in Alberta was bad enough for his mind to completely scrub the event from his memory and as someone who's seen the horrors of war, Charlie figures there's not much else out there in the natural world that could do that to him. He's always had a passing interest in myths and legends but after his brush with something terrible, he's been giving the supernatural a bit more credence. Ideology/Belief: Charlie has a strong belief in God, training in the Catholic denomination though he has since taken on a bit broader belief in Christianity. Significant people: Father C doesn't have many he would consider close though his parents were always there for him. He hasn't spoken to them since joining the Church though and has maintained radio silence. Meaningful location: Vimy Ridge. The battlefield still brings great distress to Father C but the battle fought there significant to Charlie, fighting alongside his many of his own countrymen and it was the only time after the beginning of the war where Charlie's wish to become a legend resurfaced. Treasured possessions: A small cross necklace looted off a fallen soldier which Father C originally belived to be the soldier's dog tags.
