Current I'm a pretty good writer and former site staff; I still deal with imposter syndrome every time I log on. You're definitely not alone. And t's worth trying anyway.

I just finished The Secret History, a very Gen X book. Never Let Me Go before that, which I'd recommend to any writer outside the MFA atmosphere who wants to know emotonal restraint.

Finals prep! Sorry folks. I'll get an intro up ASAP. ^_^
Serossa Sekula set her eyes on the Replacement that approached her, and offered his hand. He had her attention. She listened to his introduction...and then she turned her attention away from him, to the entire room. Without skipping a beat Sekula spoke up with a loud bark that emphasised the typically understated husky nature in the NCO's voice. "LIBERATORS; Corporals conduct a muster, and get me a list of everyone."

If she had to go chase some Replacement out of a rack, now was the time. Or, rather, if she had to send a Corporal to go chase some Replacement out of a rack. Only then did her head turn back to the Replacement in front of her, and the hint of a smile come to her lips. A hint of a tease. "No, I'm the other six foot blonde that tells all of you what to do."

Only then did she take his hand with her right hand and offer a quick shake, a thin line of scarred bright red flesh cutting across just above every knuckle on her hand but her thumb. "How can I help you?"
are we going to hear from Dizzy soon?

Yup! And I'm in constant contact with her.
@HeySeuss
Aah, so I take it calling a Uslam woman "cute" might get you you a broken nose? Or is that too much into Mando territory?

Sekula would stare at the guy in a way suggesting the way he was digging his own hole amused her. Then probably walk away.

But that's in the platoon. And also Rossa's not very playful, she's pretty serious minded. Kinda have to be on a place like Uslam.
Yeah, you'd get leered at on a ship in today's Navy. Maybe not too badly, maybe pretty badly. P-ways in PT gear, you know you're being watched. Not fun.

"You don't even want a drink? Nothing has to happen."

He was still smiling at her when he said it, and she looked up at him from the console. "Sorry, Lieutenant--"

"Really, Serossa, it's Davin."

No, Sekula thought to herself, it's really not. Her eyes must have lingered on his longer than she thought, or they held a sharper edge to them than she realized, because quickly he was standing at his full height above her and all but demanding. "So come on; it's no big deal. We're just two Rebels needing to release a little tension and have a little fun before the next fight."

After a quick succession of keystrokes, the quick letter to her sister was complete, and Sekula was standing to her full height of near six feet...a few inches taller than the Lieutenant who was stationed at Vanguard, and likely never saw the field. Her eyes never waivered from the JO's, that stiff half-smile on her pink lips staying right where it was; unphased at the pressure presented to her by the man. "Apologies, Sir, can't--too busy working for a living. Maybe if I ever see you in the field? Thanks for letting me use your console."

The hardest part was not smirking as she turned to show the man her back, and walked off...knowing what he was looking at until he turned a corner and made a quick, soured, face. It was maybe the most irritating thing about being a woman in a male dominated organization such as the Rebel Alliance. Although at least she wasn't alone; the Rebels embraced the role of women far more than the Empire did. And of course they all needed their release and pleasures where such things could be had. Had the right guy asked, say a certain gentlemanly supply Lieutenant JG with pretty blue eyes, Verossa might just jump at the chance...Lt. JG or not.

But he didn't, and instead Serossa was happy to sleep in a real bed with a real shower and absorb as much information and news as she could from Vanguard's networks. That's how she spent her two days, until it was time to muster and gather Replacements. Serossa stood off away from the crowd of Vets, watching the Captain and the new Lieutenants from afar for a few moments before her eyes returned to the Replacements.

The only time she spoke, was quietly and (mostly) to herself after the Captain spoke, "What is HE talking about? The field is where the Liberators get their kicks, not sitting around this hole of rock and metal." The drunkeness? That was just the guys blowing off steam. And, hell, some of them were better shots when they were a little buzzed, or hungover. Not that she was about to point that out to the Captain.
Team player? Yep, he can follow orders (grudgingly, and perhaps slightly subversively, but he can do it). He may be pretty frosty, but he won't try and backstab anyone. He's got a sense of honor, warped though it may be. He's doing this for his nation and won't reflect poorly on them by ruining everything else.

Approved!
I'll start working on a post, likely tomorrow, soon.

Thanks!

Aaaaaand here is the new sheet. If accepted (let me know if there's anything I need to fix up) I'll probably use him in lieu of Cynthia. Or maybe not. I am indecisive as all hell.

Would he be a team player? I'm not sure they're accepting angry loners, honestly.
Appearance:

Name: Heinrich Aschelman.
Age: 30.
Nationality: German.

Three random facts about your character:
1. He prefers vodka to beer, not something he would openly admit.
2. He despises classical music.
3. He finds his glowing eye to be quite funny.

Mutant Power:
Heinrich is capable of generating and manipulating darkness in a variety of creative ways. He has kept his powers hidden fairly well all things considered but he has shown a proficiency for using darkness and shadows for quick transportation or as weapons/constructs to suit his purpose.

Biography:
Heinrich was born during WW1 in Berlin where he may not have known of the conflict directly, but he recognized it from a young age and it sobered him up pretty quickly. The economic collapse afterwards was what he was born into and it made him harden up for himself, his father, and his sister. He had to learn how to survive on the streets because of the lack of any kind of money but he saw it as a trial by fire to see if he deserved to keep going on. His powers became something he would rarely use in public unless his thievery caught up to him which would prompt him to either fight or flee both of which he could do.

Heinrich has little regrets about some of the things he did in his early youth because he wanted to survive without being on the edge of poverty like so many others and it colored him to be more independent in his later years. He was alive to see much of the propaganda slung by the nationalists and seeing people being brainwashed was not pleasant, he was prideful of his country and some of the accomplishments the party had managed, but like many Germans he had little love for Hitler or his regime. He was actively opposed to some of the actions of the new government and while he wasn't alone he avoided backlash for longer than most. His father and sister were imprisoned to draw him out, he knew it was a trap but it was obvious his gift was the only reason his family lived and he would find out just how much.

As much as it pained him he ended up as a literal shadow operative for the Nazis to keep his family alive and well but never once did he enjoy it or anything that he did. He has done some horrible things to better people than him and it grew that darkness which he found himself in more and more. He was a curiosity for many doctors and scientists who never got to lay a hand on him which he felt a bit thankful for though he expected if he died his body would have been one of the first things on their tables. He found his right eye as an irony to his power and thought more on it thinking maybe it was a sign of sorts.

Heinrich eventually fled Germany part of the way through the war when he saw an opportunity, he effectively faked his death, and managed to get to Switzerland where he could thing about what he was supposed to do with his new freedom. It was there that he was found by "The Strategic Scientific Reserve" who saw the use in a mutant such as him but not only a mutant, a German mutant who might be sympathetic to a cause. They weren't wrong about him wanting to join up to get revenge on those who forced him to commit atrocities but he had another reason, to rid his country of the dictatorship and make Germany a country worthy of the pride of its people even if he isn't fit to live in it.

(I realize just before I post this the rp might be full but I figure I might as well put it up anyways if no one objects.)
