Current I'm a pretty good writer and former site staff; I still deal with imposter syndrome every time I log on. You're definitely not alone. And t's worth trying anyway.

I just finished The Secret History, a very Gen X book. Never Let Me Go before that, which I'd recommend to any writer outside the MFA atmosphere who wants to know emotonal restraint.

It's not that I am not interested, because I am, I'm just not sure how I feel of taking real-world politics into this. I have a feeling lines will be crossed and talking politics usually never ends well.

That being said, I am still interested

The politics are satire-levels of politics. No one wants to get into actual, RL, political discussions with RP.
For the sake of clarification, Kara (Super Girl) is also heavily involved with the plot, so likely to be NPCd, as she won't be around at the start of the game.

The exception to this being when I decide to allow second characters later on, someone could make a case for her.
All other Krypton based character are 'locked' behind the second character timeline as well, but, won't be subject to the stricter process of application.

I can NPC Kara.
Is Superman available or does someone already have him reserved? I was thinking of having him just recently come out into the world. Having felt the need to hide himself until now. He won't be a Kent and I probably won't make him a boy scout either.

Kal-El's reserved for the GM to progress the story through.
Would Cyborg be applicable in this RP?

Yep.

Name: Batman
Alias: Bruce Wayne, Matches Malone
Species: Human
Power/Ability Set: He's the MFin' Batman. C'mon now.

Personality: Fanatically driven by the death of his parents and the state of corruption and crime in Gotham City. Rarely sees the gray areas in life, despite the fact that his crusade is deeply rooted in the gray areas of life, of right and wrong.

Biography: Gotham's Dark Knight first appeared in Gotham City five years ago. It wasn't until an entire year had gone by that GCPD finally realized what or who was behind the secret war against criminals and the corrupt in the town; and only then because then Officer Jim Gordon finally got a good look at Gotham's "devil." Soon after GCPD created a 'Batman' Task Force, and picked Jim Gordon to run it. It wasn't until Batman's third year in the city that Gordon would begin to see Batman as an ally, rather than an enemy.

It wasn't time that changed Gordon's mind. It was the appearance of a psychotic mystery man that had no name but "The Joker" that eventually pushed Gordon to see, despite their differences in approach, the Bat and he were on the same side. Both men realize without the other, the Joker is likely never caught, never thrown into Arkham. The partnership would see further success in crippling organized crime in Gotham City. Yet in Gotham City, success is ever fleeting, and it wasn't long before other rogues began to pop up in the Joker's wake.

While Bruce Wayne privately supported Lex Luthor for President in order to oust Donald Trump, the Batman has been investigating Luthor and his activities tirelessly from the shadows.

Two tips.

1) Don't be overly sentimental: there's different kinds of romance, and every romance scene doesn't have to read like a romance novel. Maybe the two in your scene are a tad awkward, a tad unsure--happens IRL all the time. A look between two people in a crowded room can have a neon bright emotional affect if you've set it up right.

2) Make sure it's what your character wants: every character should WANT something. If your character doesn't want the romance strongly enough, just don't do it. That'll help you avoid the 'forced' issue.

2A) Make sure it's what YOU want. Got a RPer you crush on? Ask her to RP some romance with you! Make the romantic scene exciting for you, personally, and watch the sparks fly.

Interest.
I can post now?
Dealing with a serious illness to a direct family member, and working two jobs, and finishing school, and getting manuscripts to my editor...yeah.

I may have to put this one on pause. =/
