After being led into the training room and issued the challenge, Don Krueger took a deep breath. Breathing in the scent of sand, oil and iron.
“So we hit a dummy, crack a core and then we get to fight?”
It was clear that despite the cat’s diminutive size, it packed a fair amount of power into its strike. Don was also acutely aware that he was getting on in age, and no longer in his prime. Twenty years ago, the grizzled man could have fought a bear with his bare hands. This dummy would have crumbled under a single blow.
He reached out and placed an open palm on one of the reed cores. Feeling its rough texture. Pressing lightly to get a fell of the hardness and give.
Twenty years ago he would have easily put his fist right through it. Now he wasn’t so sure. Don had more or less retired from the adventuring business more then a decade ago when he lost his left eye. He grew lazy with his training and age has caught up to him.
He had been in a bar fight a couple weeks before, and won, but it made him realise just how far he’d fallen. If his younger self could see him now, Don was sure it would be a look of shame.

Reminiscing about the past isn’t going to make you stronger.

He snapped back to the moment. This tournament was the first step to getting back to his former glory. Hitting a dummy should be the easy part.
Don drew his hand off the core. Made a fist, and threw a solid straight punch. Aiming right at the core.

Shiki sat at the bar. Head down, nursing a pint. He reeked of stale beer, having been sat at the bar for most of the day. Putting coins on the counter every time his glass ran empty.
He let out a slight burp as he finished his latest pint. He slid the empty glass closer to the barman. He slid a couple coins over as well. Motioning with his hand for another. Shiki McNamara’s hair and robes were disheveled. Giving him the appearance of just another drunk. To the untrained observer, he looked like a bum who had given up on life. However, if you really knew what you were looking for, you might be able to notice, maybe Shiki wasn’t as drunk as he let on. If you were exceptionally sharp you might even notice he eyes carefully surveying everyone as the entered, and his careful listening of each conversation. You might even catch a glimpse of throwing knife hidden within the folds of his robes.
Might have to throw together a character who only became a Hero for the same reason most straight men on their 20s do anything. To pick up chicks

I guess there could be room for another.
Some of the world building is still happening, other parts just need to be formatted and posted. We are going to start soon regardless. Will add in details as it goes.

RN we have an exiled prince and his bodyguard.
And a ruthless corporate honcho accompanied by their pilot.

Do you have any character ideas yet?

Probably working on a gentleman thief/pickpocket that has infiltrated the cruise to steal from the wealthy.
That or a corporate espionage specialist who basically works for a sci fi intelligence agency.

From I can see this looks real interesting. A couple of questions.
Is it still under construction, because a few of the sections seem empty?
Are you still accepting new players?
I’m torn on if I want to make a researcher or a security person…
It’s all good. Move been brainstorming and reading the wikis, and I’ve got a researcher OC that I’m probably more excited to play then my SCP.
Might throw together a Spartan
I don’t have the mental capacity to run two characters in the same RP. The quality would end up suffering, and I’d rather write one character well then two characters sub par.
I can swap my SCP for a sore researcher if that’s preferred.
