I don't think many here would use the shop, Sho. They seem fixed on making things up as they go. I'd use it, but then it'd be just two who use it.

I'm aware. I need a solution to this, but I've been going largely off of my own assumptions.

I'd like to pose a question to do you guys, what would make/entice/persuade you to use the shop if at all?
I see everyone is in the spirit of things.
No one said you had to answer it correctly.

You can just say you have no idea and so and so.
Once Sho feels that the page is complete, I'll have everyone vote on whether or not they want it implemented. If the vote results 'no', lien will be removed as a mission reward.

I am fine with this, as it is your word.

On the other hand, I would prefer it if people had something constructive to say rather than try and put it down repeatedly. I really think it can add something to this RP.
1. I think you're off topic here now, or at least off the point.

2. I honestly had considered pushing to remove the lien altogether, but that seemed boring. Why not give the players a choice to bring a little extra to help them out?

3. I'm pretty sure they already moderate credit upgrades, this wouldn't be so different. Though I would prefer to avoid the need for this and just have players keep track of the 2-3 extra equipment they decide to bring on a mission.

4. Not the shiny syndrome, being able to access a shop isn't new to any one of you, in fact all of you have accessed a shop before, and we even have another one called the Credits Shop in the RP. Rather, it's more like the "I don't like new things" syndrome. You're adverse to change or additional features, because you feel things may change or something else. You don't think rationally about it, you don't like it.

But I will push that again, it's under construction. There is still a lot of work to be done before it will work for this RP.

While you don't like this at all, you're still a player in this RP, so I will listen and respond. I won't ignore you or anyone who has something to say. I only hope what you have to say is constructive, but we can't have everything.
Samael | Namimori Middle High Roof

"Good morning everyone", he greeted as he walked through the door.

"My, only two of you here, and I thought I was the one in a hurry. Honestly I'm not even allowed to be here, it didn't take much effort to sneak up here too", normally the rooftops were locked, though that never really stopped him. In this case it didn't surprise him it was unlocked, they were told to meet here, someone would leave it unlocked. Students didn't normally come up here either, rooftop gatherings tended to happen rarely.

"Now then... How long do we wait? I'm fresh out of tea as of this morning, so I want to get on that as soon as possible".
I just now read up on your character's and didn't realize, and you mean the Dust capsules? You know with your semblance you should be able to make those far more lethal than they are normally. Though this while is good for you, would be also unfair. Basically the Hunter Specific Gear section is the section that will be most difficult to make, if it's even possible without some imbalances, so it is good you have told me this.

But let's break it down then.

just give a batch of 4 for 1 credit or something or ignore the cost whatsoever, none of those items are particularly gamebreaking, some like the first aid kit should just be issued period at no cost in any normal society

A first aid kit should indeed just be issued period at no cost in any normal society, but this is equipment to bring along on missions. Normally only medics would carry the first aid supplies. This allows for an item slot to be filled with something that can help with wounds during a mission. I don't think normal society directly fights Grimm and Faunus terrorist groups all the time.

The giving a batch for credit while increases the value of credit, also becomes pointless, because people would honestly rather spend their credits on more permanent upgrades. We get lien in a much larger quantity, but credits not so much. We have two resources, I don't see why not use the other.

Not to mention the hunter specific gear which is downright treading into the credit territory by the current definition

This is going to be heavily moderated, in case certain things would be counted as a credit expenditure. Of course, this is a generalization segment, and something under a lot of work and consideration, so your concern is not something I haven't thought about yet. I mentioned it before, the Hunter Specific Gear section will be the most difficult out of the categories to make anything for.

Furthermore, what's the rule on determining what mission is worth what lien? It would vary from overseer to overseer and hardly be fair, city guard can hardly afford to pay the same money SDC does for the smae job

This may be true, but only at least from a peoples perspective. From what I see, you all have already fallen into a standard lien rewards. Ranging from generally 1000-3000 with deviations. If you keep the lien rewards about there, there should be no problems whatsoever, so basically carry on.

I did the pricing in the shop based on that. I did my little share of studying.

It all feels too difficult for a nontabletop RP, do we really need this stuff?

That's because it's new. There's no complicated system involved. You have money. You buy. You use. Nothing else to it.
If you really want by the way, you're free to randomly take the stage at the idol performance after they're done.

Who were the girls that were interested in making an idol group though?
On the note of "I put them in to give the greedier characters (Translated: mine) to give them something to decide what mission to take, nothing more." why not this be yet another motivator then? Of course, higher risk should equal higher reward.

This only means we should take a little better care in how we make and price the missions. So far they are okay, and no one has gotten crazy with them just yet. I priced them based on the standard lien rewards for missions that I'm seeing.
But those can be reinforced and worked on. Everything you have said is not without solution.

This is only the beginning of it, so feedback is appreciated. It does say "WIP" or Work In Progress after all.

However on that note, while you have pointed out some of the possible problems, do you even have any solutions in mind?
