"That far ahead huh?", he responded. He let the arrogant boasting slide as merely childish, he would soon grow out of it to some extent. He flourished his weapon before taking a seat all in one motion and then sighed,
"If I'd known I'd have to wait that long I'd have just slowed down... Then again maybe not... I really dislike that damn swamp", he commented. There wasn't much else to do but wait for the rest, and see the results of the test. He should've brought something to play with...
"Not the first ones here... Tch", Asher looked away for a moment with a look of disdain before turning back to the one... Or two in the room, besides him and the fox. It was probably the damn frog that really slowed them down. In any case he took a look around... It really was only just them here, four people total.
"Well at least we're not last... Gimme some of that water, this damn test was a pain", he commented as he strode right over to where they were keeping the water, snatched a bottle and took a quick swig.
"So, how long do you reckon it'll take until we see the last examinees?", he looked back over to the others. They may as well make conversation... For now.
"Hmmm? Well whatever, there's not much left yet, so we've yet to see if this even is worth talking about", he responded. The subject was dropped, and so Asher followed on towards the finish. He could easily guess the fox probably didn't awaken his semblance yet, that or it was pitifully weak, either way it didn't seem a subject he was proud of, but they can worry about that another time. He kept going along, eventually they should leave the swamp, but then how much longer to the goal? They saw it was quite close the last time they got a good view of the area, so they should be very close.
"You don't have anything flashy like that? I can't use this more than a few times, so I need to save it", he inquired. What was this fox able to do? He had some okay marksmanship, but nothing out of the ordinary, and he was fast, so he can do his role... If he was more careful. To be honest, Asher didn't go here with very high expectations, the only reason he's pushed himself was to never be behind his friends, who've been picked up by other countries, and are likely hunters and huntresses there now.
"You gotta have more than just your dinky little crossbow and agility. What about your semblance?", he questioned.
There goes the toad, but just as needed. With no hesitation he and his clone kept close enough to it as it soared through the air, and the moment it's leap turned into a fall, it became easy to ascertain its landing zone. He thrust his blade into its sheath. Once again the fox faunus would bear witness to what slew the deathstalker earlier like it was a simple matter, although he would notice that this time the blade was a bit thinner. Asher's aura reserves were beginning to wear thin after all but he had enough in him for one more of these after this one.
As the clone was in position, he began to fade as he and his clone switched places, putting him under the toad's landing zone, as his blade was fully formed, sheath opening up to become merely a component of this new and larger laser blade. With a mighty kick he leaped high into the air, flying up past the toad as he spun, slicing the toad clean as he passed by it, and as naturally as he did so, the blade would revert to its normal form immediately after the slash.
He hoped this would be enough to slay it, if not, then they can just leave it behind, as regardless, his strike should have done considerable damage.
"PERFECT", the words resounded, along with the awe of bystanders as a small crowd formed.
"aaaugh, he's just too good", he heard from the other side.
"Come on man, gimme a shot", and so he was up against a new character, but just as handily he was defeated, he often got perfects, but sometimes he would slip up and take a hit, not today it seemed... He seemed to read every move perfectly today.
"PERFECT!", Jack sighed as he made yet another complete victory. He wasn't the best academically, but he figured he didn't need to know some things to keep people alive, but after that mission even if it was a victory, Priscilla took some serious damage, and he wasn't sure why. Was it just the nature of the mission? It was a difficult mission to be sure, everyone had to expend to their limits. He would normally write it off as a regular "experience", but he couldn't quite do that now.
"PERFECT", he decided he should take a walk, and got up from his cabinet, letting his character go down as he left.
"Augh, this isn't like me being gloomy like this... What would you do master...?", he thought to himself, pulling the hood of his coat over his head.
"I have no idea what compound they put in the water, but it spreads like a virus... It doesn't just mix into the water, but spreads... This is going to take days to fix. For now we've got the town hooked up with the old water plant", things didn't seem promising as they weighed the numbers. They'd need to filter the water, then evaporate it with Fire Pokemon, and then clean the entire facility with extreme detail, to ensure there was not even a trace left. The water had a visible murky texture, that also seemed to be somewhat alive... The water was dead still, but it seemed to be moving beneath the surface.
Though as the scientists began to walk towards the door, a flint of ice blue light drew their attention. No one present could believe what they were seeing. The legendary Pokemon, Suicune, had appeared. The moment it landed upon the surface of the water, the area below it became crystal clear, before it gave off a brief howl, and within moments the murky appearance had disappeared. It shot a look over to the route overlooking the area, before it disappeared in a blue flash, jumping off into the distance.
"Hey what happened?! The-the readings are all clear!", the door was slammed open as someone came out to see Suicune's handiwork, the legendary already long gone.
Route 3, the way to it at least. It always passed by the water reserve that was nestled below the hill and against the coast. Regardless of where you wanted to go next along Route 3, through the caverns, over the desert road or up against the mountain and dry forest, you would always pass by a birds eye view of the water plant, and thus everyone at this moment bore witness to it...
"Is that... Suicune?", the Johto native was familiar with the words, as this was a legendary well known in his region, seeing it here of all places was amazing, it was rare to even see it in Johto after all.
Everyone watched as the water at the water plant shone with glistening light, before the legendary disappeared into the distance.
"Suicune can purify water, or so some legends I've heard say... Was that what happened...?", he questioned himself.
"Well, I think it's a good omen seeing it before we go onto this route right guys?", unknown to him was that this route split into three areas, caverns, desert road, and mountain path that followed the foot of the mountain.
"I see, alright then, just cover me, use fire dust", he ordered, before charging back into the fight, his clone running around the side to flank it while he charged the front. Although he strafed around before charging, allowing his clone to get close while he occupied it with himself, but as soon as his clone was right by it, he switched places, and with little waiting he unleashed a wide arc of flame around it's feet, any stray bolt from the fox faunus should hit the grassy tussock too, the aim was to get it to burn, and force the toad to jump, Asher's semblance clone along the outside, ready to move to wherever Asher needed to be at a moment's notice.
