They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Glad to see I'm not the only follower of Lord Cato, god of wisdom, on this most auspicious Superb Owl Sunday.

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

@Belle@BlackPanther So...we're going with she's seen him every moot, and there have been moots however frequently?

With Dagon, I only know what was posted on the thread, and at last check it still says her heart was frozen -- which is why I mentioned the discrepancy between Belle's proposal and the timeline. If you've straightened that out since, then it's no longer something relevant, but the sheet should be updated. I'm also curious if Arys was completely stoic before freezing her heart, as is mentioned when Dagon sees her. @TemplarKnight07

As for moving the plot forward and what does and doesn't affect it, I have nothing to post right now as I'm waiting on a reply. I also find that personally, knowing a timeline and little twiddly details actually lets me write better, and it's the minor things with huge, unanticipated effects that I like best. Butterfly causing a typhoon, etc. That doesn't need to be your style, of course. But when inconsistencies turn up, discussion is vital. My personal feeling is that discussion of the world you play in is a huge part of any rp -- and communication is important for any group. I'm sorry if I'm bothering you by chattering. =/

@BlackPanther Yeah, I saw that, but later there was stuff indicating it was more often -- plus the way Runic spoke of it says this is a regular thing, so it would need to be more frequent than every few centuries. The line was a very brief thing, and it could be their first meeting since something else that happened after to make things even worse. It's not entirely clear. But it's not a big issue, a little tweaking of details that have had only passing mention would handle everything.

Besides, Belle proposed Dagon not protecting her from Summer, and he arrived after her heart was frozen, so /something/ needs changing to deknot the timeline. It won't have any serious effect on what's already been said -- but this is why it's good to discuss this stuff before building too much on top of things, or you end up with real problems. This one DM I knew...ahaha, that rp ended up such a mess. x.x Half the time they weren't around, and the other half they didn't remember the answers they'd given, and so some people had A is true and some had A is false and some had A is thought to be true but it's just a story and @.@ Of course that's a poor dm, but if there's player assumptions -- and there inevitably will be, as we build upon the framework Runic laid out -- if we don't communicate what we're assuming, things get tangled.

That's part of why I ask so many questions, and fiddle with the details on things. Plus solid lore makes me a very happy shy~

EDITED
I can try to post a little, but...Wyth is pretty close to Ethan, and it probably won't be much. No promises, though.
@Prince of Seraphs That was my impression as well -- ten, twenty years apart at the outside, possibly as often as every year. I got the impression they were yearly at some point, and that was my current understanding. If they're ten years apart, that's more like 50 moots. Twelve over 500 years would be...um. A little under one every 50 years, which is kinda long even by fey standards.

It might be that the first time they saw each other after was /at/ a Moot...and every subsequent one? That was how I had interpreted that line, but now I'm not sure.
@Belle *huggle* Whatever the trouble is irl, I hope things improve for you soon.

@LadyRunic *flailing* So how often are Moots?! @.@

Woo~
@BlackPanther I feel like an idiot. I pinged literally everyone else, but somehow I missed pinging you when I mentioned Feoras. I'm sorry. *goes and hides*

“Ms. Primm is one of the few who is not put off by the girl’s...unusual gift.” The headmistress lifted her head at the implication that her judgement was lacking. “She was the only chaperone available that was willing to accept Miss Ris after learning of her power. Furthermore, her credentials are in good order, and she has been well recommended. I would hope you look at the entire picture, instead of drawing hasty conclusions.” If that was how the man would conduct his review, then she worried what he might say.

When he touched her forehead she took a swift step back, posture stiffening and her hands curling into fists. Had he not been so obviously ill-suited to polite society, she would have slapped him. As it was, she found herself questioning his suitability for the task he was to perform. “I will tell you plainly, because as you say, you are not very familiar with etiquette. A man does not touch a lady without her permission. If you intend to use magic upon someone else, you should ask first.” Her brown eyes fixed him with a stern glare. She would have to keep an eye on him, she decided. It was unlike the Department to be so...short-sighted. There must be other interests at work behind the scenes. However she smiled and shook the offered hand. “Miss Ris should be in the practice yard, between the stables and the barracks toward the gate.”

When the door closed behind Cain, she turned to have a serious discussion with Sofia, regarding the new arrival, the Department, and their interest in Amuné.

@TheMinorFall
@TemplarKnight07 Well she saw him at the moot every year, but if Belle said they'd seen each other again, you're good. I must have missed that. ^.^; Sorry!

Iunno anything about souls, and I'm not sure what happens if more than one person obtains a fey's true name and gives them orders that conflict with previous commands. *thoughtful* But yeah, you have an excellent point. *shrug* Iunno, I guess how fast you trust someone under your command is a personal thing. I wonder what other humans were changed along with Dagon. Might be she made a bunch of emotionless knights, and he just got lucky because he wanted that... *wanders off*
@TemplarKnight07 I forget what the ruling is on whether artifacts are permitted in general without prior consultation with @LadyRunic. But they are basically full characters in their own right, if they are powerful enough (even if not generally independently mobile) and certainly they have a will of their own. I question whether the Queen of Winter would give anyone such an item (or such a rank, really, but it might have been a formality to start) without first ensuring his unwavering loyalty, though I suppose that might have been part of the spell she set on Dagon. @Belle, if that's the case, it might be interesting to see if we can thaw /Dagon/'s heart too....

[@PrinceofSeraphs] Now I'm getting ideas for Spring trying to find the key first, and trading it to Fall, because...well, Falk does want it. I wonder if he'd bother accepting, instead of refusing to deal with them and instead taking what might be significantly longer on his own. *wiggles* It's an amusing thought. And then maybe they give it to Summer, if Feoras might be willing to cause trouble for Winter by using it on Dagon -- possibly as payback if we blame Winter/manipulate Winter into being involved in aging Lyra! *flailing* THE POSSIBILITIES~
@TemplarKnight07 If he was around for when she was dating Feoras, she had not yet frozen her heart and thus what she says and does to him doesn't fit. It might be before he's done being turned fully fey that he awakens, but you'd need to ask @Belle what Arys's demeanor was like before she froze her heart, for one -- and for two, you'd need to change her commentary. Summer is unwelcome in the Winter court following the falling out between the two leaders, so if Arys has a frozen heart already, there's no way Dagon met Feoras in her court, or had any opportunity to fail her in regards to the Summer King.
