Heh, Teddy has locked down a section of it. The legitimate term is pairing. Shipping is, in reality, typically associated with the moving of goods, or people unfortunately, between locations.

I'm sure at least one has. But probably not many. It is common but it was many years doing RPs before I heard the term. And I just figured out what it meant because of the logical statement. They were shipped like a package. After which I promptly ignored most of the pairings because people will ship anyone and anything.
