My Very Brief Bio

Male, 33 years old. (I'm even more dead than before.)

Likes (other than writing and roleplaying): I'm into all genres of music. I love to cook. I love the outdoors, and walking through the park near my house. (Yes, really.) I read a lot of thriller/mystery novels. And I usually watch seasonal anime. (Or cooking shows. Because Western Media provides even fewer things that are worth watching.)

But as for my many other neglected hobbies, I've played basically every sport. (Soccer and Bowling being my favorite of the bunch.) And I'm trying to play more video games. (Going through my never-ending Steam library.) Plus, I've dabbled in making electronic & metal music, and I used to play a number of instruments. (Guitar, French Horn, etc.)

My 1X1 Interest Check: SleepingSilence's Tavern (Want 1x1 RP's? Please come in.)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

@Odin I don't put effort in casual messages, because it's casual messages. If someone was bitching I misspelled something over a text on my phone, or a facebook message -when not calling anyone out for it-. Would be a waste of time...

Writing, professional writing. Which is what roleplaying should be. Is what I want to improve. I know I have a problem with adding things that could be cut, I would still tell people about it. Hoping to receive respect. And give respect back to those who do the same for my roleplay writing.

Even as wordy as the general ramble I sent you...it doesn't have a spellcheck problem now does it?

I also didn't know if it was their own mistake, I thought it may just be a general thing they found. But I have no personal problem with it, as an outsider.

But I still would point out that mistake. Because on a roleplaying forum, I think it's perfectly reasonable to do so, since it relates to roleplaying. I care about my roleplaying experience. If I was their partner and this stranger constantly had typo's and errors, that just me being on google chrome instantly highlights for me...(and when it doesn't, because it's not perfect, I usually post it elsewhere to double check, just in case.) I'd feel like it's not a 50/50 split effort.
Still can't really see the correlation therein. Someone makes a spelling error or grammatical error and that instantly disqualifies them from having certain demands or preferences. Gotcha. Perhaps reflect on yourself. There are more things you can fix about your own writing than you can find in theirs.

That's perfectly fair. I did say personal pet peeve. I'm aware it's an opinion I have.

Some people think being a judge is okay without putting effort in their writing.

I take basic spellcheck (like post it anywhere or use google chrome 'fixes itself' kind of writing problem, that is the ultimate laziness when not done.) as "I actually care about the other person who is reading this." 1X1's do require the other person to read it. A roleplayer needs to write interestingly/well. To make it enjoyable to write and to read. (again personal thoughts here. The thread is full of that. And the original comment is asking for personal thoughts.)

As for the last thing. If it's actually for my roleplay posts/interest check I created. I would genuinely want people to point out writing mistakes. Or give suggestions, or ask if something is confusing. Because as a roleplayer I'm trying to improve. I'm always self critical, and I do spellcheck and try to catch grammar mistakes and words that could be cut out so the reader has more fun reading my writing.

General chat or casual messages. No. And some people don't grasp the difference. But a novel or story without other people. Can easily just be for yourself. But when you RP. It does, burden others if you lack any care in the writing you do.

Don't see how these two integers (selectivity vs. proof reading) are correlated. Explain.

I couldn't take that such a thing seriously. So I'm mostly being sarcastic. And I also didn't mean that personally, if that person wrote that themselves. Wasn't a strike on them. It seemed to be a random example they pulled from the forum itself. So I made it a general statement.

I'm actually indifferent on this original subject. (And this doesn't even seem to be about that.) But I already posted my thoughts.

But yes, if I personally read that. I'd roll my eyes. A personal pet peeve that people shouldn't be picky. If they can't even put the basic effort of spell checking their interest check. (It's demanding someone else follow their strict guidelines and it's clear they don't take the process of writing seriously. So how can you?)

I do think some people and how they write or what they're looking for, may genuinely get more enjoyment out of just writing their own story by themselves. Being told what I need to be, my character's history, background, personality. Is not fun. Roleplaying is supposed to be fun for both people...when it stops being that. I feel like it might as well be classified as work, you're not getting paid for...
To give an example of what we could have asked for in such:
We desire a straight female player with brown or sandy blonde hair of average build of above 22 but below 30 years of age who is not neurotypical, but instead has a diagnosis like Asperger's Syndrome or something else within the autism spectrum. Intelligence must be high (at least in the top two percentile fraction and she may not currently be pregnant with an artifically engineered embryo created by a genetics research lab dealing in illegal experiments. She must be willing to become part of such experiments, though. She must be willing be asked play a male half-giant, half-orc barbarian obsessed with the decapitation of halflings. Not that the RP will concern such, but she must be willing to play that.

Is that an appropriate request, or does that anger several people here? Even if you do not agree with it, would you accept someone having such desires, even if they do not match your own?

My problem with that is, it's a bad joke if that's a non-serious thing. Otherwise, they're basically making every decision for the other player and they might as well just write a story themselves at that point...Screw what gender you demand, if the character I'm playing is also fully dictated by someone else, this is no longer a collab and now you're just being forced to write half of their fiction commission.

Also you should never demand selection/be selective if you can't proof read. Good rule of thumb.

Ah, I've never seen so many 'political' things all at once. So glad I had three people whine at me for that.

So Twitter is going from 140 to 280 characters. This outta be a wacky ride.

Has literally been nothing but shitposting. What else can you expect from the internet.

I found that my college is where apparent The Triggering occurred. I felt the urge to tell somebody, but nobody on campus gives a shit. That leaves me with you guys. Hopefully you can have a little fun poking at my college or some shit like that. Enjoy?

If I don't get banned or bitched at for doing so sure.

Play them this.

@Dynamo Frokane

Ah, back to the good old political memes, the truest form of political discourse. I can see how that differs from mine...somehow.

Though, the 13 year old argument seems a touch misplaced since it's the left that defends pedophiles.

@ErsatzEmperor

Shows overrated.
We just had the opportunity for a fresh start, man. You don't have to post here if you don't want to. You're 24 and this is a forum on the internet. You can control what you put out here.

We've never really interacted. Ever. >.>

Fresh starts do imply two way roads...so being dismissive right off the bat doesn't help.

And I did already posted two subjects about politics, one engaging in the same previous discussion and one different one. I'm asking you for a discussion and I'm getting memes and pointless conjecture.

Okay? I did do that already. I'm not the one complaining about posting. I literally got told by you, and another user to get back into politics on the once mass effect thread. Even a mod, said it was supposedly a message for everyone to get back on that track...

I'm asking you what was any previous discussion point, that YOU made, that I didn't just cover?
When there is a brewing shitstorm but its not happening in my thread for once.

*waves* What took you so long?
