I am a 26 years old woman from Belgium, Europe. You can always send me a message to chat or about a roleplay. Even though I can be pretty busy at times, I always inform my partners when I lost interest or when I want to stop a roleplay for a different reason. This means that if I haven't replied to a roleplay yet, I didn't have time yet. I didn't ghost you. Since I regularly check the site on my phone, my replies OOC would be fairly fast (if you keep my timezone in mind).
I can play as both male and female characters with a preference towards FxM and MxM pairings. Additionally, I can play multiple characters at the same time. I prefer to double (as in both playing a male and a female character), but this is absolutely not a requirement. I absolutely love romance in roleplays, but I tend to not include smut as it easily takes over the plot and that is quite boring to say the least.
I prefer my roleplays to be situated in either modern times or the future, since I am not interested in researching a time period in order to write about it in the roleplay. Also, I mostly use fictional locations. The reason for this is that I haven't been outside of Europe (except for two vacations in Egypt when I was a child that I hardly remember) and I am not willing to do a lot of research those countries in order to write about them in the roleplay.
Romance, drama, horror/thriller and slice of life are the genres that I have the most experience with, since there is a lot of describing the situation and a lot of dialogue. I have the least experience with fighting scenes, so please don't judge my fighting scenes as I am trying and learning. Since I mentioned horror/thriller, let me tell you that I have absolutely no limits with dark themes. If you have any, tell me BEFORE we make our characters. Do not be angry at me if you didn't even tell me about the topics that are sensitive for you and I happen to use them unknowingly. If you tell me about sensitive topics, I will ALWAYS avoid using them, no matter what they are.
I can work with long, short and no character sheets. My preference goes towards sharing a picture, name and age before starting the roleplay. I am most comfortable with using anime pictures, but I can also use pictures of real people if it's my partner's preference.
If you aren't sure that our writing styles are compatible, please ask me for a writing sample beforehand. Don't ghost me or reject me right after I wrote an intro post to our roleplay. That's just a huge waste of time for both of us. Of course if you find out during the roleplay that it's not for you anyways, you can always tell me (please do instead of ghosting).
Topics that I am ALWAYS willing to write about: - the Fairy Tail universe - Demons and/or angels coming to Earth - the Apocalypse concept - the Big Brother concept - a Jumanji inspired story (either old or reboot) - an adult version of Miraculous or Precure
This roleplay is based on the Netflix series 'Locke & Key'. Since the roleplay takes place several years after the series, you can assume that the main characters have died. That makes it possible for people who have not seen the series to participate.
This roleplay is 18+ because there will be violence.
A couple of teenagers between 14 and 18 years old live in the town of Matheson, Massachusetts near Key House.
In this picture, you can see Key House with in the right corner the Well House, which is an old building with a well in the center.
Key House is still in the possession of the Locke family. Some of you can play children of the current Locke family who lives there, while others will be friends of the family, distant family members or neighbours.
The magical keys have been divided between the teenagers. You can find a list of the magical keys and what they do in the next hider.
Apart from the non-player characcters, I will also be playing the antagonist and I am not going to reveal which one of my characters is the antagonist.
The antagonist is a demon from another universe and will send people they have manipulated to the teenagers in order to threaten them into giving the keys. The antagonist wants to gain all the keys and rule the world, while releasing other demons as well.
Both the antagonist and the teenagers are in search of the Omega Key, which opens the Black Door in the sea caves - caves close to the sea, as Key house is near a cliff over the sea - near Key House.
Behind the Black Door, one can find the universe the demon came from. The teenagers want to open the door and put the antagonist back to where it came from. The antagonist will try to lock the teenagers out there, after which they would die.
In this story, the teenagers try to combine leading their normal lives at school and at home with staying alive and not losing their keys. Moreover, it is very tempting to just play with the keys and to misuse them for their own good.
Please inform me which magical key your character will have before you post your character sheet!
I have selected the following keys, but I can add more if there is enough interest:
- The Matchstick Key, which allows you to set fire to the surface of anything the key touches
- The Anywhere Key, which allows you to go anywhere in the world by putting the key in the keyhole of a door and imagining a door you have seen before (can be at a photo) at the place you want to go. This key is taken by @Akayaofthemoon.
- The Head Key, which allows you to go inside someone's head by putting the key in the back of that person's neck. Once the door to someone's head has been created, you're able to go inside (and bring others), where you can interact with memories as well as remove or add things, including memories, knowledge, or emotions.
- The Music Box Key, which allows you to control people through voice commands when you put the key in the music box and open the music box.
- The Plant Key, which lets you control any plant by putting the key in the plant (so if you put the key in a tree trunk, you control that tree).
- The Identity Key allows them to transform their appearance. However, they can't use The Identity Key to turn into someone who exists or used to exist. They can use it by putting the key underneath their chin. This key is taken by @Squirrel98.
The antagonist will use this key to act as several characters. One of its appearances is shown to the main characters, the others are hidden between the non-player characters.
Please follow these rules:
- You will post at least once a week. - You will post at least one paragraph, but I prefer more than one. - Do not play the characters of other players, unless you have permission. - Be nice to the other characters in OOC. - Do not make your characters perfect, everyone has flaws.
Your character sheets will contain the following items:
- a real life picture (those fit the story better) - the full name of your character - a quote of your character that fits their personality
- describe their looks (height, weight, muscular, good condition, ...) - personality (put at least two strengths and two flaws in bold)
- connection to the Locke family (child, neighbour, friend, cousin, ...) - magical key in their possession (just the name is alright)
- at least a paragraph explaining their opinion about the magical key (do they misuse the key a lot, are they afraid of the key, ...)
- at least a paragraph explaining where they found their magical key in Key House (in the sink of the kitchen, under a bed, ...) and why they were in Key House in the first place (everyone found their key themselves, but they know the owners of the other keys)
- history of your character (including possible family members and pets)
@Akayaofthemoon Me too! I can't stop watching season 1 over and over again and so wishing for Netflix to set a release date for season 2! So excited for this roleplay too, I really hope we get enough interest.
@Akayaofthemoon I am glad to see that someone takes an interest in the roleplay! You can reserve the anywhere key, I'll put in the first post that it is taken :)
I have had this idea for a while and finally decided to post it.
This roleplay is based on the Netflix series 'Locke & Key', but I have my own version (so you don't have to know the series to be able to play a part in this roleplay) as this roleplay will take place some time after the series (you can assume that the main characters from the series have died many years ago).
A couple of teenagers (between the ages of 14 years and 18 years old) live in the town of Matheson, Massachusetts near Key House.

Apart from the npc's, I will also be playing the antagonist and I am not going to reveal who he or she is yet (as it is a mystery in the series too). So you won't know which one of my characters is a normal npc and which one is the antagonist. The antagonist I play is a demon from another universe with the Identity Key in their possession.
The Identity Key allows them to transform their appearance. However, they can't use The Identity Key to turn into someone who exists or used to exist. They can use it by putting the key underneath their chin.
