I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.

@The Kid Lantern

I personally wouldn't mind a post to move the plot forward since my character is pretty much married to STRIKE at the moment. But I understand if that's not enough to motivate you to do so, all things considered.
@Dynamo Frokane

Sorry for always being sporadic. I'm invested in this though, so I'm not going to forget about it or drop it without warning.
@Rune_Alchemist

Sierra scrutinized Selma, doubting that the girl would be up for hard labor. "It's a real commitment to work in the mines, it's hard work and I'd have to train you. I was kind of joking, but either way, we'll see what happens." Sierra looked up at the sky, noting that it was still before noon. This little distraction wasn't too much of an inconvenience, and maybe she'd stop into town and get an early lunch when these shenanigans were done.

@VKAllen

"Alright then, follow me," she said, leading the way to the blacksmith. Sierra helped herself into the front door; depending on how hard Emille-Bella was working, the smith might not be able to hear a call or a knock.
@Dynamo Frokane OK, I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'm having fun too, my main concern is maintaining a consistent personality. Also, sorry for the infrequent posting.
Zhou Yu looked out the window as the Falcon got sucked into the Death Star. He scrutinized the Imperial Forces, looking for potential weaknesses of personality or discipline that he could exploit. Bruno suddenly got up in arms and paced out of the control room. "Whoa there, big man, let's not be too hasty," Zhou Yu said, but Bruno simply marched away, only to return again and again. Out of curiosity, Zhou Yu followed Bruno around the circular interior of the Falcon only to return to the control room. "It appears that our axeman isn't very bright," Zhou Yu declared to Benny. It wasn't really much of an issue, sometimes, a dumb general was more useful than a smart one. "By the way, you did a terrific job getting this house to settle down inside this...castle," he added, assuming Benny had successfully steered the Falcon into the hangar. He went back around the interior again and saw what could potentially be an exit. he was starting to get the sense that everything in this 'world' worked by way of 'buttons', and looked for one to press that might open the door to the outside.
"Gullible? Oh no no, not at all~ I think you're one of the most non-gullible people in town! As such, my cute little human," She poked her playfully on the nose before giving a dramatic twirl and taking a few steps back.

"I think you deserve a free demonstration of my skills!~" She held out a hand for the miner to shake.
"So, here's what I will do for you. Give me one piece of copper, and I will turn it into silver! Absolutely free, no strings attached!~"

Sierra flinched when Selma touched her nose, snorting the way dogs do when something they don't like touches their face. Sierra didn't like her personal space being invaded and especially didn't like getting touched anywhere near the face and neck, but she didn't react beyond the flinch; life had taught her to just accept that some people would be touchy-feely. Sierra crossed her arms in skepticism when Selma made her offer, taking a long look at the witch's outstretched hand. "Are you going to turn copper ore into silver ore, or can you turn a copper bar into a silver bar?" she asked, playing along. "If you can do the latter, that would really impress me, but we'd need to get to the blacksmith so she can either smelt this ore here into a bar, or maybe she'll just have a copper bar lying around the smithy. But if you can do that, then call me a believer." Sierra took Selma's hand and shook it, but then didn't let go. "But what happens if you fail?" Sierra took on a morbid intensity that she hadn't yet shown the witch.
"Dare? Pfft, no. Like I, the great Witch need to be dared to go somewhere. I go wherever I want. Say, you're a miner right? I bet you don't wanna work in this heat, yeah? Or at least, you want to make some quick money~ Well, with a small donation of five thousand gold, I can fill this mine to the brim with gold ore!~"

Sierra's face turned immediately to one of derisive incredulity. "Pfft," she scoffed, "If you're here to con me, then you're shit outta luck, kiddo. Im from the city, so not your average, gullible townsperson. Go back in town and find whoever is living the most comfortably right now, they're usually the kind of people who aren't willing to work hard to earn their way in this world and are more likely to want a 'magical' solution to their problems." Sierra thought for a momemt, "Why am I giving you pointers? Get out of my mine if you don't have anything better to do."
A soft 'tink', 'tink', 'tink' could be heard echoing through the mine, but after a point it stopped and was followed by a grating whine that got louder and louder as it approached the mine's entrance. A shaft of light pierced out through the darkness, concealing whatever was behind the glow.

Sierra turned off the light from her helmet now that enough ambient light flooded in from the entrance. She was pushing a squeaky mine cart laden with ore. She was on her way back to empty the cart when she noticed someone sitting near the mine's entrance. Sierra felt like she may have seen this person around town, but she was terrible with faces and wasn't in town frequently enough to have really gotten to know too many people.

But that was beside the point. "Hey," Sierra called out, "no entering the mine without proper safety equipment!" She didn't even mention the necessary safety training that was also a prerequisite to entering the mine. "What are you doing here? Some friends dare you or something?"

Pretty sure we do.

Also.

Anyone outside wanna impish little witch to tag along with them for a bit? xP

Don't know if your witch has a reason to wander into the mines, but her interactions with Sierra would be pretty hilarious since Sierra doesn't believe in the supernatural.
The chirping of birds in the morning brought to Sierra's attention that it was spring. She paused in the middle of her breakfast for a moment before continuing to eat. For a miner, seasons mattered very little. The riches of the earth were consistent and dependable, not subject to the fickle whims of the weather. Some might argue that locating rich ore veins was more of a gamble than planting crops or raising animals, but Sierra paid such people no heed. When she had finished her breakfast, Sierra stepped out of the simple wooden shack at the base of the mountain that she called home. It was 5:30AM and still cool and crisp. Hoisting her pickaxe, she headed into the mine, ready for a long day's work.
